Minecraft Ram Usage Info

Minecraft handles ram differently then other games. Too little can have issues, but same goes for too much. As Minecraft will literally try to use all the ram you give it and try to shove it all through 1 cpu core.

Instead of speeding up the game, it slows down the cpus processing by trying to process all the ram, used or unused.
To see the recommended range use !mc-ram

There’s gonna be 2 cores instead of 1. All rendering in the game will be handled by a core, leaving all game processes for the other core instead of shoving them all together, that will speed things up. Furthermore they are switching to another rendering API that is SIGNIFICANTLY faster

Great news! Datapacks are ungodly easy to understand. You just gotta know what you're looking for and than all that's left is just... editing a few IDs.

For instance, here's the recipe for SimplySword's Awakened Lichblade I had lying around.

All you really gotta do is just change the "item" ID to whatever item you want it to be.
Than just change "pattern" based on the configuration you'd want in a crafting table. Make sure to make the icon you set. For instance, # in this case being Soul Sand, so that's where it'd go in the Crafting Table.

If you need different recipe types, ala Smithing Table or Furnace smelting? Just grab whatever base template or existing recipe is lying around and it edit it accordingly.

You can even introduce new recipes or use existing mechanics!

Datapacks are surprisingly versatile in modded, even more than they are in Vanilla

Mhm, you can even do one better. By using the existing names of those recipes, you can outright override them into any kind of recipe.
It doesn't even have to make the item in question. You can make the Iron Sword recipe be a Furnace recipe that makes Dirt Blocks.

Oh yeah, you can also use tags if a recipe needs more than one item.
So if you got a modpack that adds multiple types of iron (looking at you BetterEnd/BetterNether), you can use these tags to account for them.

Here's what I did to make Leather Armor into Ice&Fire's Sheep set for instance (which than upgraded into fur coats and such.)

Best advice I can give? If you got a way to peer into a mod's files? Look in the data folder.
It has all the recipe/tag/etc. JSON files you'll ever need.

Of course, it's a good idea to know the datapack structure before doing that-- but it's pretty easy to understand once you the gist of it.

That's what I was referring to.
A "datapack" typically has the main folder which goes into data and mcmeta. Latter of which is what Minecraft uses to ensure it's for the right version. (You can find that on the wiki)
After that, it's usually an ID for it's name (usually the mod in question) and than whatever you're trying to edit.

I'll use Alex's Mobs for this example...
First is the data folder itself.
Than if you enter alexsmobs, you'll find all the things you can edit in there.

But yeah, once you know how it's all arranged? It's just a matter of editing IDs.

Best advice is just to match it best you can to what already exists.

Big focused hits that can't be spammed, just for the extra flair of finishing off an enemy. A move you gotta aim to hit well, but incredibly satisfying when you do.

Especially since a lot of the weapon-usage I have planned involves pre-set weapons you find via vendors rather than crafting it yourself. So many of them have gimmicks and such that are specific to them.

I.E. SimplySword's Twisted Blade next to no damage, but having an insanely powerful Critical Hit to make up for it. (So you keep swinging it faster and faster to keep chancing on that hit.)

While not specifically for that, I believe Supplementaries has Netherite Doors/Trapdoors which are key lockable. (As well as a physical "Lock" block that emits a redstone pulse with the correct key.)
I mention it because you may already have it without even realizing it... or have seen packs with the mod.

I believe Quark has a "burn time" tooltip for fuel items, which works for most standard recipes. (I.E. Iron Ingots.)
||Some modded recipes- like smelting whole Iron Blocks- use longer timers and may not properly reflect those tooltips. Always double check how long it takes to smelt something with JEI!||

My friends an i are looking for an RPG style with or without race/origins etc. Preferable with MCA so we can make our own little characters, along then with Serene seasons, the delight mods for all the food stuff, Tought as nails or something similar and alot of quests.

As for the nether mods. Really any of the nether exploration mods would work. Ex: yungs better nether fortress, incendium are some I can think off of the top of my head

Could always also use something like kubejs or crafttweaker to edit recipes to force yourself to require nether resources more.
Ex: replace stone with netheract or nether brick

Mod searching is real pain in the .... back.
First, the authors don’t name their mods in a way that makes them easy to find. Instead, they name them however they like, maybe their dog name or smt. Second, there’s no search tag system. So if I type in a word, regardless of the title, there’s no list of tags that would also bring up these mods in the search results.
It’s so frustrating when you spend two days looking for a mod that fits your needs, and then you accidentally find the perfect one, but it just doesn’t have the title you’d expect.

Hi. Just decided to play without shaders. Now the world looks very pale, and the colors are dull. Everything looks fine at night, but during the day it feels like the weather is cloudy. Depressing. Are there any mods or texture packs that can help make the visuals more vibrant? But not just by boosting the brightness.

I installed a fog mod to made a blur effect on distant objects so they don't look too sharp. Also Better clouds to create a feel of depth. Dynamic lights and etc. The only thing I'm not happy with right now is the coloring.
