i'm kinda making my own 1.20.1 modpack and want to have, well, good performance while having a LOT of mods, shaders, and distant horizons. for some reason my pack started off as like 100-120fps with just optimisation and tiny QoL stuff (it was an existing modpack but i can't remember the name rn) and had distant horizons and shaders. it was nice. now i'm at like.. 60fps ish, sometimes 75ish max. idk why exactly and feel like i should have more fps to begin with even at the start of my modpack? does anyone know of any like, good mods that would help with performance i guess? or solutions other than "get better hardware" or "get rid of mods". 120fps was already pretty mid to begin with lol

hm. So, first one right off the bat
if you have xaero minimap, go in settings and just toggle off the minimap, but leave the waypoint etc. Minimap takes a lot of fps away. Second, install spark, reopen minecraft, type the command /sparkclient profiler start --timeout 180
it will take 3 minutes to analyze what mods do you have and which of them causes lags.
then use Cull Leaves, but ONLY the one with the actual leaf block. This one

leaf blocks take A LOT of fps, specially when you put the texture on Fancy. It saves A LOT of fps, telling from my own experience.

plus i wouldnt recommend using a lot of perfomance mods. The main ones you need are: Sodium\Embeddium

uhhh, there are a lot of mods like that. Mythic Metals, Create: Metallurgy

mythic metals adds it in SOME form, it is not FULLY realistic ore processing and smelting. They add furnace tiers which can create unique metals by using MULTIPLE USUAL metals.

the spark one - for sure yes, because it detects what mod causes the lag, obviously. The only thing, you will need to explore how to WORK with spark. But it is pretty easy. Just the site, paste the file .sparkclient in the site, press "mods" on the top right, and look what mod got the most percentage EXCEPT for the "neoforge". You CAN look thru it, but it wont really help.

is that normal to have 100% on fabricloader? Anyone? Because i personally do NOT know. I had only 37% on NEOFORGE

1.You are probably as i've figured using shaders, they take a lot of fps, try lowering the options of the shader.
2. Distang Horizons. You can try also getting in the config file and play with them a bit, like put less detail of chunks or something.
3.ImmediatelyFast. Nothing to explain, just get this mod out.
4.Xaero Minimap. Go in the mods, get xaero minumap config, and just set the "Minimap:ON" to "Minimap:OFF". Minimap takes hella fps.

wont really say that minimap or worldmap is much better. It is easier to just delete minimap at all, than just dig in their configs to do at LEAST something more playable than 60-70 fps, when without the minimap it was 160.

i usually just press Y and then toggling minimap OFF, so i get a huge boost in fps.

you can pretty much add Mobs Of Mythology, i think that is the mod that adds kobolds in your caves that can steal your items. Also there is a mod called Goblin Traders. Plus you can add Underground bunkers, Underground villages

Does anyone know of any Java-mod that shows what any enchantment is calable of and the extra strength of it?

Sharpness 4 shows my weapon to have raised to 9 attack-power or something while smite doesn't change a thing even though it's strength is increased to zombies and skeletons (I believe, not certain).

So is there any mod allowing me to see what any enchantment does while at the same time it explains the extra 4 attack-power?

i dont think there is such a mod that gives you the enchant description AND the stats of the weapon depending on what enchantment you have. Instead of MST, you can try Tool Stats.

I am most happy if anyone could find one that shows stats as well, but I guess that otherwise, I would be satisfied with simply the information of what the enchants do (simply dealing more damage to what specific mobs and stuff).

Hey, so I'm currently playing an RPG modpack called 'Dawncraft - Echoes of Legends' (fabric, minecraft 1.18.2) and I wanna be able to quickly switch between first and third person. However, I can't do this because minecraft has the annoying front person view.

Is there any mod for 1.18.2 fabric that disables the front view? Or, better yet, makes it easier to switch between just first and third person?

Sooo, I’ve had this idea stuck in my head for days kinda like a mix between Minecraft horror and psychological survival. Basically: imagine a world where one single mob exists just to hunt you down.
Like, it doesn’t stop. It breaks blocks, builds bridges, climbs walls, learns from its mistakes — maybe even avoids lava next time if it died there before. No base is safe, no wall high enough. It’s just you vs something that won’t quit.

Now, I gotta say I’m not a modder or a dev or anything like that. I’m just a content creator who loves making crazy “Minecraft, But…” challenges, and I’m wondering if something even close to this already exists. Or if it’s at least doable without being a programmer lol
