Hi all! I'm working on a modpack that I's like to publish sometime soon.
I've noticed some mods have config files that are world specific so cant be edited until after creating a world and selecting it.

Does anyone know of a mod or a way to set defaults for these configs so that they are always set for a world on creation?

One that is an old but good one is SevTech Ages. It’s a 1.12.2 modpack where you start off as someone that lives like a caveman and the end goal is to reach space. It’s a really well made and good progression and questing modpack that I definitely recommend you play if you haven’t!

Depends on how cold the biome is classified, the colder it is, the lower the snow comes and vise versa. Not sure if modded biomes work differently to this rule or not

Looking for a Forge mod on 1.20.1 that adds crafting stations which allows multiple of the same item to be used in a crafting recipe, similar to how TacZ (picture 1) or MineCells (picture 2, modified version of the mod) does it.

I'm trying to find a way around a incompatibility TacZ and Nostalgic Tweaks when it comes to TacZ's crafting stations. The mods play nice with each other in every single regard EXCEPT the rendering of TacZ's crafting stations.

There are some mods that add Create compatibility with TacZ but not to the extent I need them to.

In tfc, all vanilla ores are removed and instead spawn as ore veins(thick and dense deposits) that can be visually apparent by way of terrain generation such as ravines, caves? And ocean holes.

• The intended way for players to discover ore veins in tfc is by visually identifying ore nuggets that spawn on the surface of the world if there is a corresponding ore vein nearby(~50 blocks)
  You may also use a tfc tool called a propick(prospecting pickaxe) to perform small area radar searches for ore deposits nearby (~30 block cubed)

Thats probably a plugin but you can use waystones mod to make waypoints for survival use, or xaeros minimap for waypoints but u cant teleport to them unless cheats are enabled

With the ability to play it without any knowledge of the mods, and discover the entire world.
Gathering gear and leveling up, but not too overpowered.
Doesn't have to be exactly like this, but the important part is the exploring without knowledge of the mods, and some background connection between all the added features, if you know what I mean

the Fresh Animations resource pack, which requires the Entity Model Feature mod
also it would be better to not use 1.20.4 as it isn't a very popular version for modding and gets bare bone support from modders, i recommend either 1.20.1 or 1.21.1

Are there any MC horror/atmospheric mods that add giant things / hallucinations into the background? Salty's Realistic Forging is underated. Sure it slows the game down a bit. But adding it with Tetra can make making weapons feel different.

Personally I just would make my own. If there are mods in the mod pack you like, take them from that pack and create your own. Easy way I find mod is through mod reviews or just by scrolling through mods. Downsides are sometimes mods are incompatible and you will need to work around them. It only becomes a issue when you too many.

Personally I prefer 1.20.1 as there are generally more mods in that version and more often then not, there tends to be a lot of mods that aren't in the later versions. Also you can backport a lot of the newer features with mods. I'm not aware of more of the technical stuff that the newer versions might have over 1.20.1 but it's personally what I prefer since it's got Alex's Caves. Great mod btw

1.12.2 is a lil old, 1.16.5 and 1.18.2 are good for some niche sorta mods not on more modern, then 1.20.1 and 1.21.1 are the more modern ones with recent/recently updated mods

Is there a mod that adds a way to remove certain types of trees from spawning?

I have this problem where swampes are filled with a certain tree from a mod that I don't really want to remove, its not so much a biome thing as they spawn in all swamp biomes and a lot of them, and I mean a lot. They also get in the way of structures that spawn in swamps. The only way I could think of is to get a mod that replaces certain blocks and changes the individual wood and leaves to air but If there is an easier way then I would prefer that

1.12.2 has a lot of mods that are also only on that version, 1.16.5 ditto but more updated mods and more modern Minecraft, 1.18.2 pretty modern Minecraft, also a lot of mods, 1.20.1 very modern, tons of mods (1.12.2 levels of mod amount), 1.21.1...less mods, more modern Minecraft, better optimization thanks to Neoforge
