You do know that most dynamic lighting mods are client-side? but I'm mostly answering you about the fact that you want a solution that doesn't need a client mod because the server you play on doesn't let you add client mods

i have a modpack and i added this mod a while ago, and theres this really annoying feature in one of them that whenever you place a water bucket, it gets placed in a random slot in your hotbar, if theres no hotbar room, you throw the bucket, does anyone know which mod does this? i would appreciate an answer. thanks!

Possible reasons for experiencing low FPS

Please check the following list for possible reaons of experiencing low FPS.

  • GPU (AMD specifically has issues)
  • Is the correct GPU used
  • Does the system have enough ram
  • Is the correct amount of RAM allocated without going over excessively
  • Are other things running in the background leading to lack of RAM
  • Mods used
  • Shaders
  • View distance too high
  • CPU core speed too low

The list intentionally ambiguous. There is no way to figure out what specifically causes your FPS issues, if there actually are any. Low FPS could simply be a result of the mods chosen in which you would need to trial & error out which are affecting it.

Minecraft Ram Usage Info

Minecraft handles ram differently then other games. Too little can have issues, but same goes for too much. As Minecraft will literally try to use all the ram you give it and try to shove it all through 1 cpu core.

Instead of speeding up the game, it slows down the cpus processing by trying to process all the ram, used or unused.
To see the recommended range use !mc-ram

How to get started with shaders

Playing with a shaders mod like Oculus, Iris, or others and want more flair to your world? Don’t know what shader to pick from or where to look? try looking on Shaderlabs or the customization tab on the CurseForge site.

To get started using shaders:

  1. Download the shader mod and its requirements for the mod loader you’re using and run the game at least once to generate the shaderpacks folder
  2. Download the shader you want from either the CurseForge site or Shaderlabs (linked above)
  3. In the CurseForge app, right-click the modpack profile icon OR click the zCFmenu button in the modpack profile
  4. Click zCFfolder Open Folder
  5. Open the shaderpacks folder and place the shader file you downloaded in there
  6. Select the shader file in the in-game shaders menu and wait for it to load (if it needs to)

The mod is incompatible with OptiFine even in 1.12.2, and maybe a few more mods. Although the very first version of the mod already had a really good compatibility with other mods, as that did not break in a modpack of over 700 mods with really everything possible inside

And to get Vintagium you need to download the source code from github and manually compile the file using a IDE, I've not seen any .jar of the mod actually distributed yet

Immersive portals is very unique, not much else like it, I mean the only thing that comes to mind is nether portal spread. You could try to run the fabric version with sinytra but I haven’t tried that yet so idk if it’ll work, but worth a shot?? Maybe?? 🤷‍♂️
