You might be able to use KubeJS to execute the command on world generation. I have also seen a data pack which seems to set gamerules by hacking in command executions.
Otherwise someone should probably port "Global GameRules" to Fabric.

One thing to keep in mind with the OF vs other mods, OF is closed source, meaning devs cant actively make their mods compatible without having to work with the OF devs (heard its a pain)

Sodium and its port Rubidium are more actively working with devs. Things can still happen, but its a bit easier to debug

Or, can they be configured to be more broad? Upgrade Aquatic and Hybrid Aquatic both look promising, and Hybrid Aquatic are looking for Forge devs to work on a port, so fingers crossed there, too. I have found Hostile Water Mobs, which checks all the boxes, but I was hoping for a greater variety.

EBWizardry is a great magic mod, but a lot of newer magic mods that take similar approaches to it usually just remind me of the things that annoyed me in it (sheer volume of spells, having to go look for them or make them with a crafting system that is very weird and sticks out like a sore thumb, annoying npcs that are frustrating to manage, wizard mobs that burn down their own wooden houses, etc.)

Most people that use mods that allow "free servers" dont know what they are really doing behind the sences, and the devs arent always clear on what they mod is actually doing.

Only reason we know is A from the countless errors we see from users. and B from our own digging into the mod

Why we don't trust it is because of that installer. If the server that hosts the essential download is compromised they can manipulate it so the installer downloads a malware infected version instead. It's a setup for a MITM attack(man in the middle)
