There is no such thing as premium. Either a user has a legal paid account or they do not.

Tree Harvester is a good mod for cutting down trees or giant mushrooms. Crouch and cut the bottom block and the whole thing comes down and is auto replanted 🙂

I like having a bit of complexity to spell crafting or crafting in general and I like it when the spells are good but not too op

Idk it’s kinda hard to determine what I like about a magic mod

Mana and Artifice has a more complex crafting system, but the higher tier spells can still get pretty strong.
There is also Witchery, which I like a lot, but its only for 1.7.10.
Botania is one where your payof isn't op, but there are no spells, just magic items.
The other magic mods that come to my mind, I havn't used myself, so I don't know how well they fit the criteria, but those would be Thaumcraft, Bood Magic, Eidolon and to some extend Psi.

There was Patchwork (https://github.com/PatchworkMC/patchwork-api), which wanted to become sort of a compatibility layer, so the Fabric Loader could load Forge mods and the former lead dev still has aspirations to try again, but want's to use some tooling from Quilt, which still has to be developed.

Are there any mods that makes crossing the ocean harder? I want something like the breezy mod but for boats where you can only travel in the direction of the wind.

Eureka! Ships! for Valkyrien Skies is th closest I've found so far that makes ocean traveling harder. But this one is mostly about weight management.

It would also be cool if there was a ship mod that would interact with the waves in physics mod. So that if the waves gets too rough, your ship could flip over and make you fall into the ocean.

How to install mods in the CurseForge app

1. Click + Create Custom Profile
2. Name it, select the required Minecraft version, select the modloader & modloader version (usually the highest number), click Create.
3. Click the profile icon.
4. Click Add More Content
5. Search and install the desired mods.
6. Start the game!

How to install mods that are not on the CurseForge app

1. Right click the profile picture or Open the profile and click the Icon next to the play button.
2. Click Open Folder.

by any chance, does anyone know a mod that is useful for finding things underground? specifically, i'm trying to find Ice & Fire dragon lairs. bc, they dont seem to count as structures the explorer's compass mod or /locate command can find, and spectator mode is the only way i can think of to find them by flying around underground to xray, but i want to avoid straight up cheating. a mod that helps locate distant mobs might help (each cave has a dragon inside), but I don't really have any other ideas, besides something that lets you use xray pretty much.

Depends on what you like. The packs I enjoyed the most so far were a self made one, because I was excited for the mods in it and knew what I wanted to do with them, and Sky Factory 3.
If you want to go with something "premade" I think every pack with more than 100k downloads is probably good in some way. Maybe look for some mod pack reviews on YouTube and see if something apeals to you.

The portal mod is great for making secret bases cuz it allows the player to create portals in plain sight that teleport the user to different parts of the world and even tru dimensions

Also the compact machines mod is useful to create small pocket dimensions that u can bring in ur inventory and can be as small or as big as I like

no early game progression mods because i dont really like being locked at the beginning then blasting off after that. just anything that makes the game harder, and even adds more choice because im not a fan of that single line of progression in normal minecraft. maybe armour thats like netherite but 1 part is worse and the other part is better. just a harder and more choicy mid - end game
