You cant. and for good reason. Updating all mods at once could break the pack and then you would have no clue what all changed.
If your on a lower version of mc and want to update to a newer version ex 1.18.1 > 1.18.2 then you create a new custom profile for 1.18.2 and redownload all the mods

CurseForge App and site do not share the same requirements! You can find things on the site but this does not mean it will be in the app!
For a mod to show up in the app:
- Projects MUST have a file marked as RELEASE
or BETA 
- Projects MUST be APPROVED
- Projects MUST have a file marked for the GAME VERSION SELECTED/LOADED
- Projects CAN'T be EXPERIMENTAL
- Projects CAN'T be ABANDONED
Files can take a while to show up in the app. If your files still have not shown up either your project is new and you have yet to mark a file as Release/Beta or there is issues with the sync system making it slow.

Then make a blank 1.16.5 profile and run the game, load it to the main screen of minecraft.

Hello, curseforge is currently always crashing for me when starting up, here are the logs from the latest crash I also still have the log files from 2 previous crashes before that one if needed. I have already tried restarting my entire system. Additional Note: I have moved the MC modpack location to a secondary drive because I have serious space problems on my main disk.
Unrealated Note but I think curseforge has a serious performance and ram problem, On my system (which is pretty avarage) it takes about thrice the ram of the Twitch app it replaces and when I am launching it, it takes 2-3 Minutes to start up which is pretty annoying. (I have 8 gigs of ram and an Ryzen 5 1600). Just showing the error screen, it takes about 2 GB of ram which is pretty excessive.

Curseforge, when I start it, I get an error screen "something went wrong, try restarting curseforge" with a button to generate that logs zip file.
(restarting just shows the same screen again)
I actually worked out something that worked myself: I killed the error screen showing curseforge using the task manager, not hitting the restart button or closing using the close button, and now it started fine. You might still want to look into the issue if it turns up for someone else :-)

so iv been using multimc on linux to download modpacks from curseforge for quite some time but ever since i reinstalled arch i have not been able to download ANY modpacks on either multimc or GDlauncher, it always says something about the API's having issues. is there anyway to bypass this and get the packs to download?

No, not really.. MMC disabled CF API, don't remember the reason. So it's not really the API that isn't working, but more how 3rd party launchers are handling the change on if mod authors wants to allow 3rd party launchers to download their mods.

hello all, see, i've been having some technical difficulties with my curse modpacks. for starters, they all refuse to open their configuration/profile files. they say they can't be accessed and force me to close them. when I try to backtrack through my files to the profiles, they, for some reason, don't have anything in them, no mod files or configuration files. the configs of 3 mods (alex's mobs, Quark's emotes and Enhanced Celestials) are there in the regular config folder, but the defaultconfigs and the mods themselves are totally absent. does anybody know why this is happening, and how I can fix it?
