is there anyway i can like, ask why they were denied? there werent any harmful links/etc. was it because the account i made was relatively new? (i uploaded the mods like 10 mins after creating the acc)

I just reinstalled the app and it gave an option to update, which repaired my issue, and now OW and CF launch together like normal. That was honestly easier than doing logs. Anyways, I'm glad to say that it's all fixed now.

I'm trying to start up a normal 1.18.1 server with only 8 mods

for whatever reason it keeps crashing on me

I extracted forge 1.18.1 server files into an empty folder, ran the server. Everything is good until I drop the 8 mods into the folder, but I cant figure out why it wont work

that is not actually setting the java the app pushes to the vanilla launcher. to change it you'd need to change the actual settings inside the vanilla launcher that pops up.

Curseforge uses a seperate copy of the vanilla launcher so it doesnt mess up any settings you have set there.

Hello everyone, My friend got a problem which is why im searching for help. 2 weeks ago we installed Curse forge, donwloaded a minecraft mod pack, and played for 5 hours. After that 2 weeks passed and we wanted to play again, Almost all of us managed to get back, except for 1 person, Who non stop gets a "Failed to retrieve information for addon" message with Curse forge. The things we tried:
Reinstalling Curse Forge - This caused curse forge to break complately, since then after she starts curseforge, she cant even get to her modpack or anything, Curse forge instantly tells her theres a problem with connection
Deleting all content related to Curse forge - So minecraft it self and modpacks downloaded
-Checking and disabling firewalls, even in the Router itself, Tried opening all Ports and placing her computer into DMZ
-Supposedly nothing changed from the location to the connection type from last time

Had same error for different pack. Downloaded forge installer version adequate for my MC pack (1.18), installed it, started Vanilla Launcher, added installation and pointed it to my Modpack folder. Little changes with -XMX and -XMS as additional Java parameters and it works.

The whole thing about java args is that programs can run without them or with as many of them as you can figure out how to apply. So saying stuff like this just points me to believe you don't care about the issue but rather just complain.

I did got slightly triggered when CF has completely deleted my project. One I have spent so much time in making. Other modpacks I don't care. I can always download them again. Then when I did download it - it was throwing all sorts of errors. Not only Java args. Clean install of CF did not fix it.

Maybe I have worded it wrongly - my bad. English is not my first language. CF itself works. It downloads the stuff and I can browse packs as much as I please. When I try to play the pack of my choice though (Minecraft mostly) it opens vanilla launcher with that pack 'enabled' (for the lack of a more adequate word). When I hit 'play' it moans about creating Java VM and some Java args. I just worked around it - run Vanilla Launcher and set it to run with the modpack I have just downloaded and it works.

I'm sorry to disappoint you Claycorp. It did... I have not removed it myself. I might be getting older and my memory is not as it used to be... Still I do remember what do I remove and what I do not. Whole ./Instances got emptied.

It did got reset. When I checked the folder it's empty. Luckily I do have a backup somewhere with all my custom graphics, though I might need to 'rebuild' the project in CF itself.
Might force me to up the MC version from 1.16 to 1.18 as my kids are moaning about that for 2 or 3 months now. Hopefully all the mods are available in 1.18 😉

Well yeah... the instances folder would be empty if the install location is changed from whatever it was before, but the files are still in the old location....

CF has no way to even delete the entire install directory. It's not possible.

The only problem I have is that it's a 1.18.1 mod, and it can be used for 1.18.2 but it does not show up in the search menu on the client, so I cannot install it that way

1. Click on the picture of the modpack.
2. Click the Add More Content button, IF this button is not there, see below before continuing.
3. Find the Mods, Resource Packs or Maps you wish to Install and click Install on them.
4. Wait for all the required mods to be downloaded.
5. Start the modpack.

How to Enable/Disable content management for modpacks.

1. Click on the picture of the modpack.
2. Click on the button next to the Play button.
3. Click on Profile Options.
4. Check the Allow content management for this profile option if you want to edit the content of the modpack, uncheck it to disable.

NOTE: The Allow content management for this profile option is what allows you to Delete, Disable, Update or Install any Mods, Resource Packs or Maps managed by CurseForge. It must be on to modify any of them! (Currently)

Running vanilla first may help as it will download the java it requires otherwise changing it from automatic to another java version might fix it.

It seems that for whatever reason CF app is finding a java 7 in your windows registry and using that to try and install forge, if you go to the settings then Minecraft and screenshot the "Modloader installer java version" drop down for me that would be great.

How to add/remove mods in a modpack.

1. Click on the picture of the modpack.
2. Click the Add More Content button, IF this button is not there, see below before continuing.
3. Find the Mods, Resource Packs or Maps you wish to Install and click Install on them.
4. Wait for all the required mods to be downloaded.
5. Start the modpack.

How to Enable/Disable content management for modpacks.

1. Click on the picture of the modpack.
2. Click on the button next to the Play button.
3. Click on Profile Options.
4. Check the Allow content management for this profile option if you want to edit the content of the modpack, uncheck it to disable.

NOTE: The Allow content management for this profile option is what allows you to Delete, Disable, Update or Install any Mods, Resource Packs or Maps managed by CurseForge. It must be on to modify any of them! (Currently)

hey so i have uploaded a modpack project on curseforge and it's telling me that the description does not tell players what they can do within the pack and so it can't be accepted yet, however the description is more loaded and more descriptive then any of my previous projects that were approved the exact reason is "The description for (insert project name here" doesn't explain what is actually in the pack. What can a player do with it, what features it has, etc.

There are two ways to share a modpack you've made with others...

Export and Share - For Friends to Small Groups.

1. Click the Icon for the modpack.
2. Click the button next to play.
3. Click Export.
4. Select the files that should be included.
5. Send the zip to the people that want it! They can follow the instructions in !mc-installpack to install the pack!

Upload to Curseforge - For Public Release to Everyone.

This options will make your pack public to EVERYONE, it comes with extra requirements and will take some effort to set up.

1. Go to here: https://www.curseforge.com/project/432/4471/create
2. Fill out the information with a proper description of the pack. This should allow anyone to understand what the pack is.
3. Click the Icon for the modpack in the CurseForge app.
4. Click the button next to play.
5. Click Export.
6. Select the files that should be included.
7. Open your Project you made on the CurseForge site and Upload the file you just made.
8. Wait for Moderation & Sync so it can show up in the client! (See !sync for limitations)

Once I upload images to the curseforge page for my own modpack, they always have trouble loading and are not visible. They sometimes will appear on my client, however when I check on other accounts or devices they always seem to not be visible. Why is this? This has been a constant problem for me.

I remember this issue, sadly it's likely a thing with Mojang's launcher and not CF.
In the list of Instances click the to the left of the play button
Click Open Folder,
In the file explorer window that opens click the "up" arrow twice
You should see these folders: Backups, Downloads, Export, Install, Instances
Go into the "Install" folder and find minecraft.exe
Right click minecraft.exe and click "properties"
In the properties window there is a Compatibility tab, click on it
Is the "Run this program in compatibility mode for" box checked?

How to **manually** install a server - **On your own PC**

1. Check if the modpack has a server pack, if it does: use that and skip below.
2. Go to the Forge website http://files.minecraftforge.net/ and download the Installer for the forge version the pack is using.
3. Run the installer and choose Install server. Do not install to your desktop. Also do not install inside a OneDrive folder.
4. Run the server using the forge.jar. A file called eula.txt will be generated. Open it and change eula=false to eula=true
5. From the Client; Copy the mods folder, config folder, and any other folders needed for the pack to work into the server folder. If the modpack has a server pack, use this instead!
6. Run the server again.
7. Port forward your machine if needed. (Google it)
