My friend recently downloaded my modpack for our server. All of my other friends had no problem with the modpack. But she could not launch the game. She gets the launcher up, and presses play. CurseForge App and site do not share the same requirements! You can find things on the site but this does not mean it will be in the app!
For a mod to show up in the app:
- Projects MUST have a file marked as RELEASE
or BETA 
- Projects MUST be APPROVED
- Projects MUST have a file marked for the GAME VERSION SELECTED/LOADED
- Projects CAN'T be EXPERIMENTAL
- Projects CAN'T be ABANDONED
Files can take a while to show up in the app. If your files still have not shown up either your project is new and you have yet to mark a file as Release/Beta or there is issues with the sync system making it slow.

Oh so the only way to use OptiFine is to have a forge profile and add it to the mods folder. So the reason I was asking is because I made a vanilla profile for a map I want to play (since maps are meant to be vanilla and not forge) but then I wanted to get OptiFine with the map but saw it not working. And I rather delete the profile since I don't need a vanilla profile since I want to use a forge one so I can use OptiFine as a mod when I play the map

Hey there, i've tried everything I can to get the curseforge alpha client to identify my minecraft java install but it just rejects/doesn't identify the game no matter how i point it in the right direction, keeps just defaulting to embedded error, is even more confusing because the client is automatically detecting a wow 1.0 client i have installed for playing on a private server so I know it's able to detect a game, just it's refusing to ID minecraft.. (i've tried both C:\Program Files (x86)\Minecraft Launcher & C:\Users\stinko\AppData\Roaming.minecraft with no luck and the same error displaying)
