How to **manually** install a server - **On your own PC**

1. Check if the modpack has a server pack, if it does: use that and skip below.
2. Go to the Forge website http://files.minecraftforge.net/ and download the Installer for the forge version the pack is using.
3. Run the installer and choose Install server. Do not install to your desktop. Also do not install inside a OneDrive folder.
4. Run the server using the forge.jar. A file called eula.txt will be generated. Open it and change eula=false to eula=true
5. From the Client; Copy the mods folder, config folder, and any other folders needed for the pack to work into the server folder. If the modpack has a server pack, use this instead!
6. Run the server again.
7. Port forward your machine if needed. (Google it)

My question is specific to the Curseforge app. I'm looking for clarification as to the purpose of the app. I was just adding to my purpose for asking...I'm looking to see if the app allows you to download the mods without having to download a fabric downloader. Is that what the app is essentially?

Downloading a file has nothing to do with servers, minecraft or anything. It's just a file.

CurseForge is a file hosting site and file management app. It has nothing to do with the hosted content or games.

Its just everything I see or watch tells me that prior to downloading any mods, you need to download either a fabric or forge installer in order to download the mods. But with the app I feel like I can do that already. So I was trying to ask if the Curseforge app was a way of getting the mods and then using that export profile option to download the mods. I felt like it was but was just looking to see if that was true. If my question isn't for this particular group, I'm sorry.

You don't need anything to downloads mods.

You just open a browser, click download on the files you want just like anything else

Forge/Fabric run the mods as the mod files do nothing on their own.

CurseForge is for clients. You can't use it to do anything with servers. You can copy the mods out of the mods folder into the server but that's it.

You can't even launch minecraft with 600MB of ram and worldgen is definitely more resource intensive.

Its likely either the background tasks of the ad video decoder or it doing background updates to the app and checking all the projects you have installed.

I think it will be necessary to work out a system of banning comments on projects for individual users. So that authors can block such situations without completely disabling comments for everyone. That's the problem, I don't mind if this guy does something for CF somewhere, but I don't want him to write under my project. Do you know if a similar kind of protection is planned for creators? Hey for whatever reason curseforge is now crashing everytime I try to launch it. I updated the app, tried uninstalling it and reinstalling it, and have restarted my computer. I have been trying to figure out how to have multiple instances of mods on my Minecraft launcher. I am trying to have one for vanilla with optifine, one for Vault Hunters, one for Project E, and another for RL craft, but the launcher updates each time I try to switch between mods which removes any previously downloaded mod. So far I have only been able to have one 9mod at a time. Is there a way for me to download all of them and, if at all possible, use optifine on all of them? (BTW I am very new to mods and would love any other tips sent my way).

Hello. I have Minecraft mod DungeonCraft. This mod has broken structure generation. To fix it, in jar file, i replaced all nbt structure files with empty nbt files. It fixed the issue. Now i want to upload my modpack on Curseforge. The problem is that my modified version of mod goes into overrides/mods folder. I read that this folder is for third party mods and everything in there have to be in non-curseforge list, otherwise they wont approve my modpack. Mod DungeonCraft already on Cursefoge. But after my tweaks this mod neither third party nor from Curseforge. So my modpack will be approved or not? I'm little confused.

Ok so I do what I ususally do open curseforge yes? and I go to my modpack, and then I well I remove a mod. You'd expect it to remove that ONLY mod right? well um yeah so its removed like 3+ mods from only removing that specific one.. Now I know how Dependencies work and how addons works etc but is it normal to effect other unrelated mods to that one I removed?

I also am not sure how to get curseforge logs if that is required for further assistance

Its a known issue, could technically go into the packs mod folder and delete it there. But may run into the dependency issue.

From what I understand when removing mods using the app it sometimes removes the dependencies as well.

Hi, new here, but I'm having an issues with Minecraft's Launcher after it gets its load from the CurseForge App. The launcher loads up correctly and I see the named modpack it the middle left part, but when I go to press play it gives me the error:

Error/Exit codes are useless. Follow these steps so someone can actually help you.

1. Right-click the modpack profile icon OR click the button in the modpack profile.
2. Click Open Folder.
3. Open the logs folder.
4. Drag and drop the FILE named latest OR debug into discord.

Im using the overwolf curseforge and certain mods arent appearing even though they are for 1.12.2

Its happened with popular mods that I know are on that version for it because I use them for a modpack

Search furniture or mrcrayfish’s to find the furniture mod and search Pam’s harvestcraft to find that one

Curseforge’s search is a bit too literal

Use the search bar on the actual website to find things a bit more easily at least for confirmations

How to install mods in CurseForge App.

1. Click + Create Custom Profile
2. Name it, select the required Minecraft version, select the modloader & modloader version (usually the highest number), click Create.
3. Click the profile icon.
4. Click Add More Content
5. Search and install the desired mods.
6. Start the game!

How to install mods not on CurseForge.

1. Right click the profile picture or Open the profile and click the Icon next to the play button.
2. Click Open Folder.
3. Drag the mod(s) into the mods folder. (Note: Some mods will require others, to run. Make sure to read the instructions for the mod!)
4. Start the game!

Wording is important!

Forge = Minecraft Forge, This is a modloader often just called "Forge".
Fabric = Fabric MC, this is another modloader, just called "Fabric".
CurseForge = A Website/App that has content for games.
Mods = Individual mod files.
Modpacks = Multiple mods put into the mods folder or downloaded from CurseForge.

These are not Interchangeable! Please use the correct terms as it allows us to help you faster!

1. Click on the Minecraft Tab on the Left side of the CurseForge App.
2. Click button next to the Create Custom Profile option.
3. Click Repair Installation option.
4. Play game.
