I cant setup my minecraft modding folder with curseforge, but manually installing mods for mc works and other games work on curseforge as well. i have a zip of the crash files /crash log if needed

so whenever i try to launch a modpack it uses the old launcher (the one used before the migration) meaning im not able to play any games.

Does it download the "additional" files automatically or do we need to add both files?
Same Project ID but two file ID's
or two project ID's and then the individual file ids?
modpacks will install exactly what is in the manifest and nothing else

This options will make your pack public to EVERYONE, it comes with extra requirements and will take some effort to set up.

- Fill out the information with a proper description of the pack. This should allow anyone to understand what the pack is.

Hey! I spent all day trying to fix whatever is wrong with my laptop/minecraft/mods... I have a new laptop and wanted to start playing rlcraft on it again. I downloaded the modpack, as said in description I downloaded the correct optifine version and placed it to the correct folder... Tried repairing it, tried redownloading it. After having the same issue with exit code 0, started reading forums but all the comments were so different... Then I tried to open any other modpack and figured out nothing works at all, same exit code 0 happens. Any idea what I could possibly do? On my old shitty laptop everything worked just fine...

Then you bundle the API in the mod. You can't get additional files via download in a pack..

Yes, I am very sure! I did not mix the two but before I did repair installation I did try repair profile on the modpack itself as well
then restart the computer, do the instructions again, then start pack.

Hi, I have a server with a custom modpack up. There are about 10 of us on playing without a problem, but one of my friends is having a problem launching the Minecraft instance from curseforge. It launcher comes up but when he clicks play, its crashes saying "Could not create the Java virtual machine a fatal exception has occurred". We have tried a bunch of things we found online like increasing memory, reinstalling and such and it still won't work. What shoud we do.
Not sure what I did, it's been 3 long hours of trying all sorts of stuff people on different platforms told me to try, but now it's finally fixed! Thank you for your help! I really appreciate it! You guys are awesome!

CurseForge App and site do not share the same requirements! You can find things on the site but this does not mean it will be in the app!
For a mod to show up in the app:
- Projects MUST have a file marked as RELEASE
or BETA 
- Projects MUST be APPROVED
- Projects MUST have a file marked for the GAME VERSION SELECTED/LOADED
- Projects CAN'T be EXPERIMENTAL
- Projects CAN'T be ABANDONED
Files can take a while to show up in the app. If your files still have not shown up either your project is new and you have yet to mark a file as Release/Beta or there is issues with the sync system making it slow.

My internet in my area is limited, I found out so long as you can actually load the launcher with internet from there you don't need internet so is there any way I can not need internet to load it

there is not, although you can install forge to the regular launcher and launch with that (note the regular launcher for some reason still needs internet every ~24hrs for some stupid reason)

The logs are just a ton of text, the zip compression makes them tiny

You can update the mod loader within the same game version in the CurseForge app by following these steps!
- Click on the modpack profile you are working with.

If you need to update to a new game version, a new profile is required.

my modpack files are rejected after 30 seconds :/

This is insane i try to export a modpack it says this profile includes mod versions not available on curseforge dont know what mods are affected by this never had this happen before
Expand the mods folder in the export window, the mods with issues will show a
next to them

First off, why would you edit a message you are asking for help with.
Second, it means the export failed to include mods and they are in overrides. It says this pretty clearly.

You say only 4 are exporting, how can you tell that?
Cause there are three ways I can think of of doing that, two of which are unreliable
i press the export button in the curseforge app select config, mods and resourcepacks and that was everything
in the exported folder

The other folders probably dont need to be included unless you modify stuff in them, and the mod in the 1.12 folder should probably be installed with the app, although it must of ended up in that folder for some reason

I don't know the code used for the app, nor do I know programming, however from what I can speculate, is that a mod in the registry was supposed to be added/removed, but wasn't completed/done properly, and somewhere is calling 'null' which the app doesn't understand. and thus cannot export. but idk what mod. but from the log, the mod ID is 502238
Seems to be the gists of things.
I recall while adding a mod, the client froze for a second before throwing an error about failing a mod install, restarted the client and then tried again, installed after that.

Been searching the previous messages, so sorry if this has already been answered.
I opened CurseForge to play modded Minecraft today and it asked to re-install Minecraft (which I already have on my external so this was weird). I told it the path to my external drive and it accepted that. However none of my mod packs are showing up. It says "No profile currently installed". If I install a test mod from the browsing area it goes RIGHT TO the folder with my other mod packs! Close CurseForge and even the freshly installed one vanishes..

i have a serious problem with twitch… is it possible to merge my curse account to a new twitch profile? i can not login in my profile the Auth App from Google generates the 2FA code as usual but the SMS and Auth code does not work for some reason. i already contacted Twitch about that and they just say i should contact Authy which i already did. i replaced the phone number and the codes from Authy still not work..

Hello, I installed the curseforge installer and when I click on it, it says that it can’t be installed since some software was blocking it from being downloaded, I turned off every defender setting and the results are the exact same, please help.

I've been building a modpack on minecraft for curseforge, and recently I've ran into an issue. No matter what I do the export forces a few mods into the override file, even though it's a curseforge mod. As such, trying to upload the file to the website always gets denied. Is there any way I can edit the manifest file or force mods to be in the proper spot so I can actually upload the file?
I posted this on reddit, but also saw there was a discord for support. It's also not always the same number or same mods that end up in the override

Serverpacks are special files uploaded alongside an existing project file. If the main file is rejected the server pack is also rejected.
You require an already uploaded export file to upload a server pack!
- Make the server pack by zipping up the required files by selecting the required folders & files. It should include the config and mod folders at a minimum, plus anything else you specifically required to run the server. Start/Run/Setup scripts are optional. Don't include modloader files or the minecraft server jar.
- Go to the
Filestab on the project. - Click the name of the file you wish to upload the server pack to. The pack and server should match pack versions.
- Click
Upload Additional File. - Fill out the form.

Timeout/WebClient errors are from networking issues to your computer. You can try a few things to fix it:
- Restart the computer.
- Restart your router/modem.
- Try another internet source like a hotspot, wired connection or moving closer to the WiFi.
- Pause/Stop other things using the internet. (Streams, music, etc)
- If this still doesn't work, try again in an hour and hope your connection is stable.

How did you set where the downloads go?
Well, I noticed that to default they were set to "Users/(Name)/Curseforge"
However, this thing was in my drive that was full so I cut it into the D drive (which isn't full) I am quite bad at files so I might've done something wrong

Try disable any vpns you have running and moving closer to the router if you are using wifi (or plug in with like an ethernet cable)
so i keep trying to update a Modpack in mincraft (Vault Hunters - Official Modpack) however every time i attempt to update the pack this error comes up, i am not sure why its trying to open the ATM6 skyblock folder, any ideas on how to fix this?
Do third party downloads count still towards CF rewards and the like? Overwolf roadmap said they would not count from December 2021 but addons with third party distribution disabled are still showing up on WowUp and the like via the API.

No. There's no way to know under the old API where downloads where coming from. This is why it's changing partly so proper stats can be collected.
The only information you can find is asking the 3rd parties for their use data.

yes i was going to type more but i changed my mind i mean i have all the information i need now, i never knew that wowup downloads never counted for CF rewards even with old API, in that case I can't wait for next month when wowup can disappear.. for me at least... then i just have to deal with the barrage of complaints that i no longer support wowup, oh boy, thats why i was wondering about stats to see how many users are involved... i wish wowup didnt exist, lol... ok i said whats on my mind now 🙂
The old API did give you rewards but the rewards you got came from the global pool paid for by everything else.
Because the way the system works is person sees ad, % of that is deposited in the pool and if they downloaded your mod (under specific conditions) you would get a share of the pool.
So essentially you would get paid from everyone elses work instead of your "own money" you generated when people used 3rd party downloaders.
new system doesn't use a pool anymore?

The pool system has nothing to do with the API in use.
The only thing the API in use dictates is if the download they get counts or not for you to receive points for.
3rd party downloads via the old API are indistinguishable from CF app downloads. There's no way for them to stop them from counting.

hi. i have a small problem. while exporting a mc modpack profile it doesnt export it in the right way. instead of putting all of the mods in the manifest file it puts seemingly random ones in the override. when i then try to submit that .zip file on curseforge it gets insta rejected because not all the mods are in the manifest
and when i manually added the mods back into the manifest.xml and modlist.html the new version is seemingly stuck in the review phase

Remove any mods listed in the error message from the profile you exported. Then reinstall them with the CurseForge app. DO NOT drag and drop files from the site.

Curseforge takes forever to export, it does eventually finish loading but it takes several minutes to do so. as well as loading mod lists in the mod search, and for refreshing the lists.

With all the fire and hatred surrounding Curseforge and the modding community and mod launchers out there. I find Curse the most reliable in terms of Community protection, support and sponsorship. Rewarding mod developers for their work and helping them protect their work with legal protection with copyrights. against it's competitors like Technic, which allow anyone to use anything without their permission and make a profit.

Looking through the manifest, it even says to use forge 36.2.8 while the pack is running 36.2.23
so everything is probably wrong
