There are two ways to share a modpack you've made with others...
Export and Share - For Friends to Small Groups.
  1. Click the Icon for the modpack.
  2. Click the CFmenu button next to play.
  3. Click CFexportExport.
  4. Select the files that should be included.
  5. Send the zip to the people that want it! They can follow the instructions in !mc-installpack to install the pack!
Upload to Curseforge - For Public Release to Everyone.

This options will make your pack public to EVERYONE, it comes with extra requirements and will take some effort to set up.

  1. Go to here: https://www.curseforge.com/project/432/4471/create
  2. Fill out the information with a proper description of the pack. This should allow anyone to understand what the pack is.
  3. Click the Icon for the modpack in the CurseForge app.
  4. Click the CFmenu button next to play.
  5. Click CFexportExport.
  6. Select the files that should be included.
  7. Open your Project you made on the CurseForge site and Upload the file you just made.
  8. Wait for Moderation & Sync so it can show up in the client! (See !sync for limitations)

So it seems my pack has been borked in every possible way. This issue happens on any launcher that uses Curseforge as a method of distributing packs. The icon does not appear, resulting in the default curseforge pack logo. The list will refuse to show 1.17.1 versions entirely on the Curseforge launcher, showing only old and outdated 1.16.5 ones. Attempting to even load the version list on GDLauncher will result in the launcher crashing. One user got an error stating "Cannot find child addon file: 3200213" but this was unable to be replicated. Downloading the .zip from the Curseforge website and importing it into the launcher seems to have worked as intended. This issue is replicated by multiple users, in multiple regions of the world, in multiple launchers, on multiple different machines, using the same pack. This is an issue with Curseforge. The pack in question can be found here: https://www.curseforge.com/minecraft/modpacks/nirvana-vanilla

I'm unsure about the first part of that question but if your friend can export the modpack and send the zip it makes to you, in curseforge you can go to create a new profile, select import, and then find the zip file and select that.

So I am in the process of making a modpack for me and some friends and was having a problem with it. Whenever I try to run the game (pressing play in the launcher) it gives me the error Could not create the Java Virtual Machine. Of what I could find searching up the error usually it just means Java doesn't think it has enough memory to run but idk how to fix this. I've tried adding in the Environment Variable that I see as a solution everywhere, and I've made sure my Java is up to date. This is the only version of minecraft I can't run, could it possibly be the mods?

Btw my computer has 16 gigs of ram so I do not believe it would be my computer

How to add/remove mods in a modpack.
  1. Click on the picture of the modpack.
  2. Click the CFaddonsAdd More Content button, IF this button is not there, see below before continuing.
  3. Find the Mods, Resource Packs or Maps you wish to Install and click Install on them.
  4. Wait for all the required mods to be downloaded.
  5. Start the modpack.
How to Enable/Disable content management for modpacks.
  1. Click on the picture of the modpack.
  2. Click on the CFmenu button next to the Play button.
  3. Click on CFoptionsProfile Options.
  4. Check the Allow content management for this profile option if you want to edit the content of the modpack, uncheck it to disable.

hello guys! i am attempting to download a tickrate changing mod from curse forge, but it is proving a problem as whenever i click the install for windows option it asks permission and then does nothing, only apearing for a few seconds before its backround operator thing disapears off of the task manager. does anyone have ideas to help my actually be able to open the app?

I'm running into an issue where in trying to update "All the Mods 6 - To The Sky" it's saying that Access to a path that points to "Agrarian Skies 2" is denied.
The path it's trying to use for the different modpack doesn't even exist on any of my drives. I do have AS2 installed, but it's in the same instances directory as ATM6 - sky.

CurseForge App and site do not share the same requirements! You can find things on the site but this does not mean it will be in the app!
For a mod to show up in the app:

  • Projects MUST have a file marked as RELEASE release or BETA beta
  • Projects MUST be APPROVED
  • Projects MUST have a file marked for the GAME VERSION SELECTED/LOADED
  • Projects CAN'T be EXPERIMENTAL
  • Projects CAN'T be ABANDONED

Files can take a while to show up in the app. If your files still have not shown up either your project is new and you have yet to mark a file as Release/Beta or there is issues with the sync system making it slow.

Fabric = Fabric MC, this is another modloader, just called "Fabric".
CurseForge = A Website/App that has content for games.
Mods = Individual mod files.
Modpacks = Multiple mods put into the mods folder or downloaded from CurseForge.

Idk what happens to you guys' relationship but between the devs and publishers need to have an arrangement to coordinate with each other. Hello, i am experiencing severe lag problems. Whenever i load up curseforge in the minecraft tab, it lags out and ends up with the top and side bars intact, but a blank screen where my modpacks should be for over a minute. When my modpacks do load, it takes some time for their icons to appear. From there, once you click on a modpack, even when you yourself made it it brings up what seems like a template screen, with an install button instead of a play button, similar to this. Is there anything i can do to help with the loading times and lag?

out of nowhere modpackss havent been downloading, it would say downloading but not show a progress bar and after 2-30 minutes itd delete itself. i tried to reload curseforge, restart my computer, leaving it alone for a few days and none of it is working, the only thing i havent tried is deleting then reinstalling curseforge cuz i dont know if itll delete my worlds on other modpacks or not

To install Optifine with modpacks on Curseforge:
Right click the modpack icon, select Open Folder.
Put the Optifine.jar into the mods folder.
Now load the modpack normally.

WebClient errors are from networking issues to your computer. You can try a few things to fix it:

  1. Restart the computer.
  2. Restart your router/modem.
  3. Try another internet source like a hotspot, wired connection or moving closer to the WiFi.
  4. Pause/Stop other things using the internet. (Streams, music, etc)
  5. If this still doesn't work, try again in an hour and hope your connection is stable.

Change your install path to the following:

For Windows: C:\CurseForge
-Go to C:\ drive. Make a new folder. Name it Curseforge.

For Mac: /Users/Shared/CurseForge

If Minecraft is not installed in CurseForge App:
  1. Click the cf in the top left.
  2. Select Minecraft from the list of games.
  3. Select the Advanced option and pick the folder you just made.
  4. Click Continue.
If Minecraft is installed in CurseForge App:
  1. Click the CFsettings in the bottom left.
  2. Select the Minecraft tab.
  3. Click Change.
  4. Select the folder you just made.
