Wording is important!

Forge = Minecraft Forge, This is a modloader often just called "Forge".
Fabric = Fabric MC, this is another modloader, just called "Fabric".
CurseForge = A Website/App that has content for games.
Mods = Individual mod files.
Modpacks = Multiple mods put into the mods folder or downloaded from CurseForge.

These are not Interchangeable! Please use the correct terms as it allows us to help you faster!

There are two ways to share a modpack you've made with others...

Export and Share - For Friends to Small Groups.

1. Click the Icon for the modpack.
2. Click the button next to play.
3. Click Export.
4. Select the files that should be included.
5. Send the zip to the people that want it! They can follow the instructions in !mc-installpack to install the pack!

Upload to Curseforge - For Public Release to Everyone.

This options will make your pack public to EVERYONE, it comes with extra requirements and will take some effort to set up.

1. Go to here: https://www.curseforge.com/project/432/4471/create
2. Fill out the information with a proper description of the pack. This should allow anyone to understand what the pack is.
3. Click the Icon for the modpack in the CurseForge app.
4. Click the button next to play.
5. Click Export.
6. Select the files that should be included.
7. Open your Project you made on the CurseForge site and Upload the file you just made.
8. Wait for Moderation & Sync so it can show up in the client! (See !sync for limitations)

The mod Soggy's Guns for 1.7.10 keeps getting automatically added to my local Minecraft 1.16.5 instance. I searched a bit in this discord, and found that others have had the same issue. I think we have an actual bug here :P

In addition to that, whenever I then remove Soggy's Guns, the mod More Overlays Updated also gets removed

i’m guessing what’s happened here is that the older fabric modpacks were originally on forge profiles and used “jumploader” to hijack the modloader process to change it to use fabric modloader instead.

Since fabric is fully supported on curseforge now . Jumploader is no longer needed and instead you would need to create a custom profile of fabric on curseforge app and add the mods that way. Also the modpack dev would need to update it to use the new format away from being on a forge profile and not using jump loader anymore.

When you got it doesn't matter, it only matters when it was made. If it was made pre-fabric support it won't work the same as new fabric packs.

Well Fabric API on CurseForge is marked as 1.17.1 and given that you need it for almost all fabric mods to work it would imply that fabric for 1.17.1 is available. Also, by installing it too and checking it works :p

you need to use the curseforge app to make an export. you dont just zip mods and upload that

There are two ways to share a modpack you've made with others...

Export and Share - For Friends to Small Groups.

1. Click the Icon for the modpack.
2. Click the button next to play.
3. Click Export.
4. Select the files that should be included.
5. Send the zip to the people that want it! They can follow the instructions in !mc-installpack to install the pack!

Upload to Curseforge - For Public Release to Everyone.

This options will make your pack public to EVERYONE, it comes with extra requirements and will take some effort to set up.

1. Go to here: https://www.curseforge.com/project/432/4471/create
2. Fill out the information with a proper description of the pack. This should allow anyone to understand what the pack is.
3. Click the Icon for the modpack in the CurseForge app.
4. Click the button next to play.
5. Click Export.
6. Select the files that should be included.
7. Open your Project you made on the CurseForge site and Upload the file you just made.
8. Wait for Moderation & Sync so it can show up in the client! (See !sync for limitations)

My Forge always takes 30 seconds to load whenever I join a different server and when I play a thing like Skyblock, Im switching servers all the time and it occasionally disconnects me from Hypixel. I tried moving all my mods out of my folder and the problem persists. I use version 1.8.9 and forge version 11.15.1.2318. Can anyone help?

Export and Share - For Friends to Small Groups.

1. Click the Icon for the modpack.
2. Click the button next to play.
3. Click Export.
4. Select the files that should be included.
5. Send the zip to the people that want it! They can follow the instructions in !mc-installpack to install the pack!

Upload to Curseforge - For Public Release to Everyone.

This options will make your pack public to EVERYONE, it comes with extra requirements and will take some effort to set up.

1. Go to here: https://www.curseforge.com/project/432/4471/create
2. Fill out the information with a proper description of the pack. This should allow anyone to understand what the pack is.
3. Click the Icon for the modpack in the CurseForge app.
4. Click the button next to play.
5. Click Export.
6. Select the files that should be included.
7. Open your Project you made on the CurseForge site and Upload the file you just made.
8. Wait for Moderation & Sync so it can show up in the client! (See !sync for limitations)

sorry for being impatient, but all of my 20+ versions of my wow addon have always been approved within 1-2 minutes, but I pushed a small (but important) hotfix 20 minutes or so ago, and it's "under review"

A deleted project will break the pack for everyone that doesn't have it if they try to download it.

Project deleting is a last resort deal and not recommended unless you really don't want to be on the platform or you end up getting banned.

Archiving is the best way to handle issues with files

So I have a project that i created and it was approved, what steps do i take now for it to show up in a search on the minecraft modpacks on curseforge

Sync and your Project.

CurseForge App and site do not share the same requirements! You can find things on the site but this does not mean it will be in the app!
For a mod to show up in the app:

• Projects MUST have a file marked as RELEASE or BETA
• Projects MUST be APPROVED
• Projects MUST have a file marked for the PROFILE VERSION USED
• Projects CAN'T be EXPERIMENTAL
• Projects CAN'T be ABANDON

Files can take a while to show up in the app. If your files still have not shown up either your project is new and you have yet to mark a file as Release/Beta or there is issues with the sync system making it slow.

so, my friends having trouble with her curseforge install, ive tried uninstalling and reinstalling and were about to see if it happens again, but when she first starts her client into a modded game it says something about not being able to download a file (cant remember she didnt give me time to read it) and then i re-run it and it starts downloading normally

but minecraft refuses to launch at all, just gives an error code 0 i believe

so let me explain my problem. I play minecraft. I play this modpack on curseforge called seaopolis. It is a new modpack so it got updated i update the modpack but the world was not transefered. So i went to my old game saves and i copy and pasted it in the updated modpacks folder. That still did not work
