I'd try a driver (nvidia/amd) update and a restart.
If that doesn't help - then you can try to disable Hardware Acceleration - Settings > General > Uncheck Hardware Acceleration and restart

It's not buggy download wise. There's two issues with it and that's due to it being one of the largest mods on the site and that's people internet not being able to handle the download in the time frame or it's not stable enough to download it across the time it takes.

Forge and Minecraft 1.16 and previous were built for Java 8, and you don't need to uninstall Java 16, you just need to specify the full path to the older java exe instead of just invoking "java"

In the mean time you can chain sort conditions in the URL bar by copy pasting the filters and adding a & between them.

CurseForge App and site do not share the same requirements! You can find things on the site but this does not mean it will be in the app!
For a mod to show up in the app:

• Projects MUST have a file marked as RELEASE or BETA
• Projects MUST be APPROVED
• Projects MUST have a file marked for the PROFILE VERSION USED
• Projects CAN'T be EXPERIMENTAL
• Projects CAN'T be ABANDON

Files can take a while to show up in the app. If your files still have not shown up either your project is new and you have yet to mark a file as Release/Beta or there is issues with the sync system making it slow.

Fabric = Fabric MC, this is another modloader, just called "Fabric".
CurseForge = A Website/App that has content for games.
Mods = Individual mod files.
Modpacks = Multiple mods put into the mods folder or downloaded from CurseForge.

some do , some don't, judging from the comments however it does work on 16.5.
download the mod file from the curseforge website and drag and drop the jar file into your mods folder of your 16.5 instance profile for curseforge and see if you it does work. if it does then probably be a good thing to tell the mod author to update the supported versions for it.

Hi I need help, I can not download the Ice and Fire mod.
