yes, vanilla minecraft launches perfectly. there seems to be an issue where when i reinstall it and try to run a modpack, it seems like something goes wrong during the launcher update portion

and i think that is causing the issue somehow

Found a thread on a forum where someone managed to fix this issue, by copying this file from a working installation on another computer.

Since Curse uses a copy of the Minecraft Launcher in a seperate folder, try installing Minecraft (from https://minecraft.net) at the right folder

Export to Zip and send it to them. You may have to do this if you change the modpack. Make sure to do direct connects, not share the world save file.

2. Click the Add More Content button, IF this button is not there, see below before continuing.
3. Find the Mods, Resource Packs or Maps you wish to Install and click Install on them.
4. Wait for all the required mods to be downloaded.
5. Start the modpack.

How to Enable/Disable content management for modpacks.

1. Click on the picture of the modpack.
2. Click on the button next to the Play button.
3. Click on Profile Options.
4. Check the Allow content management for this profile option if you want to edit the content of the modpack, uncheck it to disable.

NOTE: The Allow content management for this profile option is what allows you to Delete, Disable, Update or Install any Mods, Resource Packs or Maps managed by CurseForge. It must be on to modify any of them! (Currently)

Upload to Curseforge - For Public Release to Everyone.

This options will make your pack public to EVERYONE, it comes with extra requirements and will take some effort to set up.

2. Fill out the information with a proper description of the pack. This should allow anyone to understand what the pack is.

There are two ways to share a modpack you've made with others...

Export and Share - For Friends to Small Groups.

1. Click the Icon for the modpack.
2. Click the button next to play.
3. Click Export.
4. Select the files that should be included.
5. Send the zip to the people that want it! They can follow the instructions in !mc-installpack to install the pack!

Upload to Curseforge - For Public Release to Everyone.

This options will make your pack public to EVERYONE, it comes with extra requirements and will take some effort to set up.

1. Go to here: https://www.curseforge.com/project/432/4471/create
2. Fill out the information with a proper description of the pack. This should allow anyone to understand what the pack is.
3. Click the Icon for the modpack in the CurseForge app.
4. Click the button next to play.
5. Click Export.
6. Select the files that should be included.
7. Open your Project you made on the CurseForge site and Upload the file you just made.
8. Wait for Moderation & Sync so it can show up in the client! (See !sync for limitations)

See if just the normal mc launcher works, and if so, check other packs, and if they work, I'm guessing just uninstall the one you want then reinstall it

Hi! I've created my own custom modpack, but it won't run after pressing "play" on the Minecraft launcher. No crashes, the button just appears to be loading and then stops loading. If I click the "play" button again, I get a popup with the heading, "Already joined the game as this user." And if I then close the launcher, I can see that several instances of the Minecraft launcher are running as backround processes in Task manager.

What exactly is causing this? I can run other modpacks just fine, like RLCraft.

It is not very organised, especially since Windows provides default solutions for this stuff, e.g. the Program Files folder.

See, Overwolf and the Curse app install in Program Files in the Overwolf folder. Documents is a general place for settings (e.g. Skyrim and all of the Sims games store their settings there).

Please provide some context, like, for instance, how are you installing forge? How are you creating the modpack? How are you launching the modpack?

Missing Java Fix!

Before you try to fix anything, make sure that minecraft is closed!
If minecraft is open then you will need to close it and try to launch again.

1. Click on the icon in the bottom left.
2. Click the Minecraft Tab.
3. Click Change next to the Minecraft Modding Folder Option.
4. Right click the folder named Install.
5. Select Open in new window.
6. Double click the minecraft.exe.
7. Close the Launcher once it's done loading.
8. Restart Overwolf & CurseForge or the computer.
9. Play game!

If the above doesn't work....

the point is to use a folder outside of any file protection or cloud saving apps, which includes everything in a user folder, as well as program files, etc.

Hello I'm having a problem with my mods not showing up on curse. It says no mods are installed on my modpacks. But when I load up the modpacks to play them. The mods are still there. And working fine

Me and my friends are trying to make a server with a custom modpack but we are getting an error message along the lines of "this server has mods that requires forge to be installed on the client"

Does anyone know what we have to do to make the modpack work on our computers? I probably sound super dumb but we cannot figure out how to get this to work

you need the same thing on the server on the client

most mods are required on both sides otherwise it wouldn't show you anything

We are confused how to get them installed on the client. Where do we need to have the mods located on our computers? The other time we made a modpack we did it through twitch and do not remember needing to do this.

not just me but several of my players can't even launch Cursed it starts goes to a different spot for different players and just crashes.

Wording is important!

Forge = Minecraft Forge, This is a modloader often just called "Forge".
CurseForge = A Website/App that has content for games.
Mods = Individual mod files.
Modpacks = Multiple mods put into the mods folder or downloaded from CurseForge.

These are not Interchangeable! Please use the correct terms as it allows us to help you faster!

I have no idea what you are asking to get fixed, at any given time there's 5-15+ things going on that need to be taken care of. You haven't stated an issue you, yourself, are having for me to say any words about.

So either you need to be clear about what you want information about or expect me to ask you what you want to know.

to put it simple cursedforge is crashing on boot it will not launch for if you really want the number 15 players and 3 of my staff.
