I’m having an issue launching Minecraft through CurseForge. I installed a modpack, but when I click “Play”, it immediately shows “Kill Instance” and the game never actually opens or reaches the main menu. Its probably not a good idea to do this, cause the ms account you attach won't own mc. Its also just asking for mods to be added here, reinstalling should've corrected this issue for them

The CF launcher option or the Microsoft version launcher type one (if i remember right) both give the error about needing to be online

Where the original mojang option doesnt, as long as youve launched a modpack once while still online and you were logged into your mc account

Ive played sims since the first one, the beginning lol. And eventually learned the cc/mods and barely learned about in-game overlays and things so I read reviews on some and found curseforge. But it also added overwolf and im not sure if i downloaded them wrong or didnt sync them correctly, but now my game wont launch from EA/Origin. It'll launch sometimes if I launch through overwolf or the file directly in my files. But when the game runs, it runs great. And im not sure how to make sure my mods folder syncs with curseforge which i added from my browser

Hi, I’m having an issue with CurseForge and I’m not sure how to fix it.

At the moment, I’m unable to install any modpacks — every time I try, I get an error message (this also happens when trying to install Claws of Berk).

The only modpack that did download won’t open at all, so I can’t launch or play it either.

I’ve already tried restarting the app and my PC, as well as attempting to download different modpacks, but the problem is still happening.

Could you please help me figure out what’s causing this and how to fix it? I can provide the error message or any additional details if needed.

I get that you're frustrated about the whole situation, im sorry its affecting your modpack/project upload. the helpers+ in here are mostly just volunteers who only handle stuff in the discord, and not anything on the site/with tickets.

If its part of the problem I think it is, things get flagged based on signatures. Windows Defender was flagging CrashAssistant as a trojan or something similar a few days/a week ago, and was a false positive too. Just happened to by chance match a signature from a database.

The vast majority of file uploads don't require a ticket for resolution or get flagged, it's only rare cases in situations like this which does happen. I understand the frustrations, but we receive thousands of file uploads on a daily basis and try our best to ensure that they are safe for users to download, which is why sometimes things may lead to false automated rejections or longer review times

Maybe, it could be due to some of the libraries those mods use being more suspicious and likely to be flagged. If you've got overrides/non-CF mods in your modpack, then the review times will naturally be longer unfortunately
