Hey, I'm having major crash issues whenever I use curseforge modpacks for Minecraft. This happened after updating my system to Windows 11. I have tried both Forge and Fabric modpacks, everything crashes the moment I try to open the game, no logs are created because the crashes happen so fast.

I allotted 8000 MB of memory just in case it was a memory issue.
I adjusted my firewall settings, still nothing.
I uninstalled and reinstalled Curseforge as well as tried repairing installation, still no change.

Vanilla Minecraft will open through Curseforge, but the moment I add even a single mod, it immediately crashes, no matter what mod I use.

I opened a ticket to ask for help and they closed it without actually helping me, just gave me the auto response shpeel about going to the FAQ or coming here, and then closed the ticket before I could even clarify or ask them anything. I didn't get an opportunity to actually talk to someone.

I've also done the Repair Installation (Not Repair Profile) attempt. No change.

Because CurseForge only setup the game and do not interact with it directly. If it's crashing or not launching then it's generally not the app fault but rather a issue with the computer, OS, hardware, Minecraft installation, drivers, or mods themselves

All the app is doing is installing the right things and start the process. This doesn't manage the process/game itself

Hello. I need some help please. Progress just stops when installing/downloading anything. Also after the start of CurseForge I can use Repair Installation. But after I try making my modpack, or installing, it just shows error "Failed to repair installation: Access to path 'C:\Users\User\curseforge\minecraft\Install' is denied".

So I thought the problem is with folder. But I checked in windows settings, turned off the security, checked folder settings allowing all users full access. Reinstalled Java, CurseForge. But not helping

I am having a problem with the Occultism mod. The mod does not open or load properly in my game. Whenever I install it, the game fails to start correctly or the mod does not work.

I also noticed that any modpack that includes the Occultism mod will not open either. The game simply refuses to start when this mod is present.

I have already tried reinstalling the mod and checking the installation, but the problem still continues.

Hello! Sorry if it's a known problem, but I haven't seen it yet and it looks really weird. The problem is with modloader installation. When I create a new profile and try to install a modloader, it always freezes no matter what modloader or version I choose. The progress gets stuck on something like "Installing neoforge-21.11.38-beta library (14 of 26): JarJarMetadata-0.5.0.jar", but with different libraries each time. The library itself downloads successfully, but the installation doesn't continue until I reboot the CurseForge app and try to create the profile again — then it freezes on the next library. So to install a modloader I need to restart CurseForge for each library. Reinstalling the app doesn't fix the issue. After every library is installed it throws a Curse.Radium.InstallManagement.InstallTaskFailedException. I've attached a tail of the log file captured at the point where it freezes (the file C:\Users\username\curseforge\minecraft\Install\libraries\net\neoforged\JarJarMetadata\0.5.0\JarJarMetadata-0.5.0.jar itself is installed successfully and instantly, but the installation doesn't move forward).

Hello, i was wonder, if i can force load different java version over one that modpack uses by default with only Curseforge launcer.
I tested RAM consuming on Prominence™ II: Hasturian Era modpack and java 25 have much less ram consumption that java 17 that modpack uses by default.
9504 mb allocated in launcher (modpack recommended).
First pic is java 25 (i use mojang launcher to load it) and second is java 17 (cursforge launcher downloaded it).

I also set path to java 25 in launcher minecraft settings

I've been having a few issues with continuity. When I first installed it it seemed to work, however after adding a few more mods the connected textures stopped working, only the glass face culling. After trying to fix it I now receive this error message (the first picture). I fixed it by downloading an older version of continuity (changing from 3.0.0+1.20.1.forge to the fabric 3.0.0+1.20.1) but the bottom error remains (second picture). How to set Minecraft to use the correct GPU in Windows

If Minecraft will not start then use the tool linked at the bottom!

1. Start the modpack you wish to fix. If it will not start, then click the in the top right of the app then select Run Vanilla Minecraft. In the launcher that opens, go to the Installations tab and choose New Installation. Choose a name and select the Minecraft version of the modpack you are trying to run (like 1.19.4 or 1.7.10). Once created play it by clicking the green Play button that appears when hovering over it in the list of installations.
2. Open Task Manager while Minecraft is running (Press Ctrl + Shift + Esc to open Task Manager)
3. Find minecraft in that list. It will be called something like "Java" or "OpenJDK Binary". (tip: sort by ram usage by clicking on the "Memory" tab. Minecraft uses a lot of ram so will be at the top)
4. Right click it and Open File Location
5. Copy the file path from Windows Explorer by clicking into the address bar and pressing Ctrl + C
6. Press and type in GPU, then press Enter to open Graphics Settings
7. Under Graphics performance preference select Desktop App
8. Click Browse
9. Click the address bar and paste in the folder location you copied by pressing Ctrl + V, then press Enter
10. Select the javaw or javaw.exe file from the files in front of you (tip: press J to immediately jump to the files that start with that letter)
11. Once selected, click Add in the bottom right of the window
12. Click the Options button on the newly added option
13. Set it to High performance on the best GPU you have

This is very likely your OS was already corrupted, CurseForge simply most likely needed a method relying on the corrupted part of the OS which caused a BSoD. This is very unlikely for a application to accidentally cause a BSoD, especially when you are the first report ever (that I am aware of) about it

I am having an issue with handynotes for Midnight, not showing up in game. I previously had some fps issues and uninstalled a few addons in my attempts to fix it, handynotes being one. However addons weren't the cause and when I attempted reinstall the addon, it now shows up both in my addons folder & in my curseforge, but not in game. Tried all of those steps now, none seemed to work.
Due to the core service not connected error message, the actual curseforge window won't respond it seems. And closing it automatically closes the curseforge window too.

Okay, managed to get it working again. I wasn't using Overwolf before, so I installed it with it now and it works again

I am developing a World of Warcraft addon that will be published on CurseForge.
The addon contains a built-in whitelist of player names used for a "friend or foe" detection system. I would like to avoid exposing this list directly in the addon files.
Would it be acceptable under CurseForge moderation guidelines if the player names in this list are encoded or compressed (for example using Base64 or Deflate) and decoded at runtime?
This would only apply to the data list itself. The addon code would remain fully readable and not obfuscated.

How to install mods in the CurseForge App

1. Click + Create Custom Profile
2. Name it, select the required Minecraft version, select the modloader & modloader version (usually the highest number), click Create.
3. Click the profile icon.
4. Click Add More Content
5. Search and install the desired mods.
6. Start the game!

How to install mods that are not on the CurseForge app

1. Right click the profile picture or Open the profile and click the Icon next to the play button.
2. Click Open Folder.
3. Drag the mod(s) into the mods folder. (Note: Some mods will require others, to run. Make sure to read the instructions for the mod!)
4. Start the game!

Error/Exit codes aren't helpful. Follow these steps to receive support.

1. Right-click the modpack profile icon OR click the button in the modpack profile.
2. Click Open Folder.
3. Open the logs folder.
4. Drag and drop the FILE named latest OR debug into Discord.
