, since you’re on Java in Minecraft, here are the main things that cause someone to get kicked instantly:

1. Different versions
   Both of you must be on the exact same version.
   Check the launcher → bottom left → see what version it says. If one of you is on 1.20.1 and the other is 1.20.4, it will kick.

2. Mods don’t match
   If you’re using Forge/Fabric:
   • Same mod loader version
   • Same exact mods
   • Same mod versions
   Even one extra mod can cause a disconnect.

If you’re not using mods, skip this.

3. Firewall blocking Java (very common)
   On your PC:
   • Search “Windows Defender Firewall”
   • Click “Allow an app through firewall”
   • Make sure Java(TM) Platform SE Binary is allowed on Private networks
   If there are multiple Java entries, allow them all.

4. Internet issue / timeout
   If the error says “Timed out” or “Connection reset,” it’s usually unstable internet.
   Try:
   • Restart both PCs
   • Restart the router
   • Don’t use VPN
   • Close downloads or other heavy internet use

5. If you’re using “Open to LAN”
   That only works if you’re on the same Wi-Fi.
   If he’s at a different house, LAN won’t work. You need:
   • A server (like Aternos), or
   • Port forwarding (more advanced)

Now tell me:
• Is he in the same house or different house?
• What exact message pops up when he gets kicked?

If it says something like “Lunar Client – Disconnected” in Lunar Client while you’re playing Minecraft, it usually means the client lost connection to the server — not that your account is banned or anything serious.

Here are the most common fixes:

1. Same Minecraft version
   Open Lunar → check the version (bottom corner).
   Make sure both of you are on the exact same version (for example, both on 1.20.4).

2. Both use the same client
   Try this test:
   • Both use Lunar
   OR
   • Both use the normal Minecraft launcher

Don’t mix one on Lunar and one on vanilla for testing.

3. Restart everything
   Completely close Lunar (don’t just exit world).
   Restart:
   • Minecraft
   • Your PC
   • Your router

A quick restart fixes a lot of “disconnected” errors.

4. If using Open to LAN
   LAN only works if you’re on the same Wi-Fi.
   If your friend is at a different house, LAN will not work properly. You need:
   • A proper server
   • Or port forwarding

5. Check internet stability
   If it also says “Timed out” or “Connection reset,” that’s almost always unstable internet.

Has anyone managed to experience CurseForge having an issue where hitting Play on a pack has it do its usual opening song and dance, the Play button swapping into a Kill Instance button, before the instance never opens and it instantly turns back into Play? How to add/remove mods in a modpack:

1. Click on the picture of the modpack.
2. Click the Add More Content button, IF this button is not there, see below before you continue.
3. Find the Mods, Resource Packs or Maps you wish to Install and click Install on them.
4. Wait for all the required mods to be downloaded.
5. Start the modpack.

How to Enable/Disable content management for modpacks:

1. Click on the picture of the modpack.
2. Click on the button next to the Play button.
3. Click on Profile Options.
4. Check the Allow content management for this profile option if you want to edit the content of the modpack, uncheck it to disable.

NOTE: The Allow content management for this profile option is what allows you to Delete, Disable, Update or Install any Mods, Resource Packs or Maps managed by CurseForge. It must be ON to modify any of them! (Currently)

I'd recommend to just put everything in a chest on the pirated copy, then move the world over and use the actual account

I Have a problem with Curseforge finding games I've installed from Steam. The latest example is Baldur's Gate 3. Automatic install choosing D: (my game-drive) and letting it search trough the whole drive will give absolutely nothing (except WOW, but those are already installed). Manually installing from D:\Saved Games\Steam\steamapps\common\Baldurs Gate 3\bin will also give nothing, even though that's where the BG3.exe file is. So what do I need to do? I have the latest version of Curseforge.

Reinstalling doesn't delete your modpack/worlds. However it's likely you are going login inside the correct email, you can also select the "use Mojang launcher" feature inside the app settings

I already had it downloaded for 1.21.1 so i can make new 1.21.1 neoforge modpacks, but even if i try to make it for any other neoforge version it gets the 404 error

Timeout/WebClient errors are a result of networking issues with your computer. You can try a few things to fix it:

Wifi isnt always the best when it comes to multi-file installs. While a speed test may show good speeds. It does not mean the network is actually stable.

A lot more math goes into a wifi connection then a cable connection as well.

2. Name it, select the required Minecraft version, select the modloader & modloader version (usually the highest number), click Create.
3. Click the profile icon.
4. Click Add More Content

1. Right click the profile picture or Open the profile and click the Icon next to the play button.

Installing Bedrock Addons on PC

This is for the Computer version of Bedrock Edition Only

For the following steps, make sure the game is on the main menu screen first

Addons come in 2 options: Behavior Packs (BP) and Resource Packs (RP)
To install these all you need to do is:
1: download the wanted addon
2: Open your downloads folder
3: Double click on the addon
This will start the "import"

1: Press play in the Main Menu > Create World > Create New World
2: Scroll down to the Experiments tab

4: You can then enable the RP or BP packs in their respective tabs in the world creation screen

Note: You can add RPs and BPs to old worlds, however this can cause issues depending on the pack, be sure to backup your worlds first
