I have a serious issue with curseforge in general. My firewall has started to block websites randomly and curseforge is one of them. I had problems with the app aswell since it would get blocked aswell. The problem goes away when i turn off my firewall but I dont want to do that every time i use curseforge. Can anyone help?

Where should I go to, if there is a mod I bought for Ark Ascended, and it does not work at all? Modder is unhelpful and his only answer is to uninstall and reinstall, I am not the only one having issues as there are other comments complaining it does not work and they get the same answer.

Well, when you install a mod, at the very least, it works on single player, you go in game, go to the cosmetics tab and it's there to apply it. This mod just does not even pop in there.

I've done as the guy told me, uninstalled, then reinstalled, restarted the game, even restarted the pc (multiple times) and it still doesn't shows. I even unistalled every mod just in case and the game.

Do you know for sure the mod isn't a fraud? Do you have any proof this is working for other people?

No idea, It has a trailer, and they said WildCard had whitelisted it for official servers not long ago, and it had a 79% positive rating so I went and bought it. It even had some "WC_" tags on the testers list

and it was advertised on the "mods highlights" part of the curseforge shop integrated within the game so I didn't think it could be a fraud

I only know there's about 5-6 comments in the curseforge page for the mod saying it does not work

But I only checked there after I could not get it to work at all

Yeah, probably not a fraud. That would have surprised me, but since you mentionned that other people couldn't use the mod properly I wanted to make sure

I'm not really knowledable about Ark, maybe someone else in #🦖︱ark-support would have a better idea. Otherwise you are free to open a ticket in the website, hoping there is anyways they could help more than the author itself

For 1.12.2 you can use OptiFine, and manually add the shaders in the shaderpack folder on your modpack

For 1.16.5 Fabric or above, use Sodium and Iris, and install a shader in the app. Enable them ingame inside the video settings -> shader tab

Forge 1.16.5 Forge or above, use Embeddium and Oculus, same instructions

For NeoForge both Sodium/Iris and Embeddium/Oculus are available, but it's more recommended to use Sodium/Iris. However for 1.21.1 NeoForge I would recommend to use Embbedium and NeOculus.

I'm not seeing a lot in the app directly, but the Minecraft launcher is showing a issue with your network and more especially with your DNS. That would explain why you encounter issues even in the main Mojang launcher, and could affect other applications like CurseForge or explain why installing Forge in the launcher is failling

The most personal info would be your computer username and operating system.
For example the name you see when you open your computer, sometime it's PC, Admin, or a username you set. And your operating system like Windows 10/Windows 11, everything else is only concerning the app itself

When sending the file it will be uploaded in a website so I view it without downloading the whole zip. You can delete the zip afterward, and that will be deleted of the website after 7 days

When you launch the app, do the application start but close and return a error or do the error happens before the app even fully open?

Dont know the rules to asking for help. take a number? 🙂 anyway, my problem is hit and miss. right now the problem is hitting. When I try and update my addons it wants to, goes to, but then just goes back like I never hit update. doesnt download stops at 0% for every addon. things of note. its not curseforge cause I tried a different manager and same thing. It worked after the last time this happened. seems like a permission issue but not local (all those are good). its like I dotn have access to the downloads

sounds like two possible things - file permissions on your computer (like defender or antivirus blipping the files away) or networking issues

I created a new project (minecraft modpack for a server) with MPL2 license (that license was chosen because the main mod we're using, Cobblemon, has that license). The .zip was rejected due to "The following files are not allowed to be redistributed due to licensing restrictions". The specific mod/jar mentioned has an MIT license, so I'm a bit confused as to why it's restricted.

Does anyone have any idea how to resolve this without having to delete items/alter the modpack itself?

Mods are made for Minecraft Java, which is not supported on mobile. It's why Mojang made Minecraft Bedrock, which is compatible on Mobile but is not the same game

why did i lose my world on a mod after i shut my computer off. The mod had crashed, which wasnt even my fault, and when i got back on it after i shut my computer down, curse forge had somehow deleted itself, every other mod i had downloaded was deleted, and all my worlds were as well. I checked all my files, nothing is left from it. Spent about 10 hours working on this one mod and i lost it all

As far as I know, this problem is always caused by your antivirus deleting CurseForge and every files - sometime including your modpacks and progression. Unless changing what Antivirus you use, I don't know how to prevent it from happening in the future. Unfortunately I don't think the files are recoverable, if the antivirus don't give any option to recover them then everything is gone

Plus the modpacks and progressions should not be deleted even if you uninstall CurseForge, it's your antivirus choosing to do so. However I don't know much about this issue in a in-depth level, but from what I know/I've heard it is commonly caused by antiviruses although being pretty rare
