Turning off firewall is not a wise idea to let something download and install things on your computer. We are not pirating, this is not a crack or trainer file, this should work as intented, with firewall on.

Curseforge won't let me re-install minecraft after curseforge uninstalled it by itself. Curseforge just keeps giving me the network error message even though my game is fine. My firewall shouldn't be blocking it, i even ran curseforge as administrator but no difference. any help is appreaciated

Some people have connection issues with Ark and even issues trying to load mods.
I don't know a lot about Ark, but I have been informed that installing this trust certificates should resolve this kind of issues

We don't recommend to use OptiFine above Minecraft 1.16 since that is not made for modded, only vanilla.

Lan and Modded MC has never worked all that well, as Minecraft's LAN was really only built to support Vanilla. Modded introduces a lot more files that may need to be synced per player, this can be taxing on a lan connection, due to the host needing to work double time (or more depending on player count)

Easiest fix: make a local server and join it !mc-univ OR rent/find a server online to join.

If you added any mod affecting the worldgen or add special FML registries to the world, the world will probably not work after updating. Normally Sodium and Iris should be fine

You can't change the version of a profile because of the issues it would cause, so you will have to create a completely new profile.

1. First create a world with this new profile.
2. In the older profile, click -> Open Folder -> open the save folder, copy the world you want to transfer.
3. Do the same step to open the save folder in your new profile, and paste the world into this save folder.
4. Load into this world and see if it's working. Note that is not guarantee to work

5. Start the modpack.

How to Enable/Disable content management for modpacks:

4. Check the Allow content management for this profile option if you want to edit the content of the modpack, uncheck it to disable.

Okay, this was kind of absurd so I'm just gonna write it here...
I couldn't open curseforge, at all. I even went and checked, it didn't open when I went in users, appdata, found the curseforge windows bit, and opened it up directly from the .exe

The only way I could get it to work again was to redownload the curseforge installer from the site, run it, and now, it does work. The weird thing is that I didn't need additional log-ins and I didn't lose a single bit of my mods.

Hey! I need some help – Overwolf won’t launch properly anymore.
When I try to open it, the window appears but stays black, and my entire PC freezes every 5–6 seconds until I close Overwolf. It used to work fine before.

I started looking into this because CurseForge won’t launch at all, and since it relies on Overwolf, I figured the issue might be coming from there.

Here’s what I’ve tried so far:

Cleared Overwolf’s cache and temporary files from %localappdata%

Restarted my PC

Tried launching Overwolf as admin

It still gets stuck on a black screen and causes stutters/freezes

I haven’t uninstalled it yet, but I’m about to do a full clean uninstall using Revo Uninstaller.

Any ideas what’s going on or what else I should try?

We are not the Overwolf server or support team. But if you just want to use CurseForge, you can use the standalone version

You might have to add the files manually to the manifest file or use a different tool. The curseforge system is not designed to add mods for the wrong mod loader type
