How to set Minecraft to use the correct GPU in Windows

1. Find your modding folder location - In the Curseforge app press the options button at the top , then press the modding folder .
2. Saving folder location - In the now opened folder window > double mouse click to enter the 'Install' folder, and then the 'runtime' folder. At the top of the window, left mouse click the top location bar in the empty space to the right of any text. Press CTRL+C together to save this location.
3. Open the graphics settings window - Use Windows search (hotkey ) entering the text 'GPU' - and click on 'Graphics Settings'.
4. Add Java executables - Click the 'Browse' button below the text 'Add an app'. In the folder window left mouse click the top location bar in the empty space to the right of any text. Press CTRL+V together to paste the folder location and then press enter. -- Each folder showing is a different java installation - double mouse click one of them > then the only folder showing in each new location > then the folder named 'bin'. Once inside 'bin' folder > left mouse click the file named exactly - javaw.exe - then click 'add' in the window.

Repeat step 4 for every java installation showing in the 'runtime' folder.

5. Check options - For each of the newly added javaw.exe items - click on the item from the list and then the Options button. Check that either the only options are your graphics card, or that it's selected as the option to be used.

How to install mods in the CurseForge App

2. Name it, select the required Minecraft version, select the modloader & modloader version (usually the highest number), click Create.

Hi, I have the following problem, I wanted to update my Miencraft Modpack but after the upload I got the message that it was rejected and something is wrong with some project ID's. In the CurseForge app I only see the project ID's instead of the mod names and when I want to go to the page of the respective mod I get a 404 error page. What is the reason for this and what can I do now?

i followed these steps and have now gotten this error

i was playing a different modpack (All the mods 9 - To the sky) earlier today with no issue, these issues only came up when i tried downloading this modpack

i'm also able to download and launch other modpacks

Hello, I want to play on one of my friends' Minecraft mod servers and the server works properly and all my friends can play on it with the modpack. However, when I start the modpack, I load into the Minecraft launcher as normal and when I click on play there, the game crashes and error code 1 appears. I'm trying to update a modpack on curseforge and at first what i did was go to dashboard > projects > clicked "edit" on my modpack" > edit file > then added and subtracted some mods i needed and didn't. I then downloaded the modpack to see if it had really updated as it said it had on the dashboard and the mod list was the same as before I changed the mods. unfortunately that's not it because i then tried click on "upload file" in the projects manger in the files section and after uploading the whole mod pack recourcepacks, shaders, mods and all when i click "submit" it just refreshes the page....

How to update your mod loader within the same game version in the CurseForge app

1. Click on the modpack profile you are working with.
2. Click on the button next to the play button.
3. Click on the Profile Options button.
4. Select the mod loader version you want from the dropdown.
5. Play!

If you need to update to a new game version, a new profile is required.

Hey my buddy has an issue where he keeps getting logged out of curseforge and can't log back in. It started yesterday when he loaded up sky factory 5 and then he noticed none of his player data saved. He quit the game and checked curseforge it shows him logged out. He can't login it just says login failed. He uninstalled it and reinstalled it yesterday which worked but now today he has the same issue. He tried to repair installtion on curseforge but it was stating he didn't have a mod folder or something like that.

How to get started with shaders

Playing with a shaders mod like Oculus, Iris, or others and want more flair to your world? Don’t know what shader to pick from or where to look? try looking on Shaderlabs or the customization tab on the CurseForge site.

To get started using shaders:

1. Download the shader mod and its requirements for the mod loader you’re using and run the game at least once to generate the shaderpacks folder
2. Download the shader you want from either the CurseForge site or Shaderlabs (linked above)
3. In the CurseForge app, right-click the modpack profile icon OR click the button in the modpack profile
4. Click Open Folder
5. Open the shaderpacks folder and place the shader file you downloaded in there
6. Select the shader file in the in-game shaders menu and wait for it to load (if it needs to)
7. Play!

WARNING: Shaders that are not from the CurseForge site will not appear on the CurseForge app. Not every shader will work with Iris or Oculus. Be aware of your computer's ability to handle shaders

If Minecraft will not start then use the tool linked at the bottom!

1. Start the modpack you wish to fix. If it will not start, then click the in the top right of the app then select Run Vanilla Minecraft. In the launcher that opens, go to the Installations tab and choose New Installation. Choose a name and select the Minecraft version of the modpack you are trying to run (like 1.19.4 or 1.7.10). Once created play it by clicking the green Play button that appears when hovering over it in the list of installations.
2. Open Task Manager while Minecraft is running (Press Ctrl + Shift + Esc to open Task Manager)
3. Find minecraft in that list. It will be called something like "Java" or "OpenJDK Binary". (tip: sort by ram usage by clicking on the "Memory" tab. Minecraft uses a lot of ram so will be at the top)
4. Right click it and Open File Location
5. Copy the file path from Windows Explorer by clicking into the address bar and pressing Ctrl + C
6. Press and type in GPU, then press Enter to open Graphics Settings
7. Under Graphics performance preference select Desktop App
8. Click Browse
9. Click the address bar and paste in the folder location you copied by pressing Ctrl + V, then press Enter
10. Select the javaw or javaw.exe file from the files in front of you (tip: press J to immediately jump to the files that start with that letter)
11. Once selected, click Add in the bottom right of the window
12. Click the Options button on the newly added option
13. Set it to High performance on the best GPU you have

Hello, I have a problem. In the last few days, my pack is being rejected due to invalid files in the manifest.json. I'm not sure how to fix this. I haven't made any changes to the mods that would alter anything, maybe I removed one and added two, but now CurseForge doesn't allow me to upload this file. Does anyone know what to do about this?

The official reason was due to low-quality mods. The author was releasing several mods per day without any interesting content in it, the only reason was to gain downloads and money. The descriptions of the mods was also made by AI, but possibly because of the langague barrier.

The author was one, if not by far the most hated dev by the whole modded community for making non-sense and useless mods such as "sodium-delight". All or almost all of them was just copy paste with the name of a known mod + delight.

The main upload problem right now is due to a author being recently ban for making low-quality mods to farm money. The users we seen with upload problems are mostly using mods from this author which cannot be used anymore for your modpacks.

Look for a mod named "Project-######" and delete them.

Hello everyone. I made small addon that extends SharedMedia for our inside joke sounds etc. (https://www.curseforge.com/wow/addons/sharedmedia-zengarden)
It seems findable and updateable through WowUP with CF, however regular Curseforge client doesn't find installed addon (and doesn't offer it when looking for fresh install) and thus it cannot be updated with it. Any suggestions on where the issue might be?
I was told CF sometimes takes few days to pick up new addons, but this has been month at this point.

Hello, i've recently reinstalled curse forge on my new windows 11 laptop however i'm having a massive issue that i've never had before and google seems to be no help at all. The only game that the app can see for some reason is my minecraft, every other game that i have installed, isn't found, if i try and add it manually, it still doesn't work and before anyone says anything, yes, i have checked what games are compatible. The current game that i have spent the last 2 hours trying to get curse forge to find is ksp1, i've tried reinstalling the app, the game, changing the install locations, everything and nothing works.

I'm honestly getting really, really frustrated because i can see where the game install location is, but for whatever reason, the app just won't see the game .exe, it can see the folders where the games are located, just not the actual game itself, whether it's manually added or automatically added, it just doesn't work.
