Got a question. This morning both my suns were playing on Forge 1.20.1 server I have running dedicated on a 1600x. Then I installed a CPU upgrade to the 5500GT CPU. Now the CPU has a built in GPU but they use dedicated GPUs. Now when they try & start forge 1.20.1, it crashes right away error code 1. But they're able to run unmodded minecraft no issues?

How to set Minecraft to use the correct GPU in Windows

1. Find your modding folder location - In the Curseforge app press the options button at the top , then press the modding folder .
2. Saving folder location - In the now opened folder window > double mouse click to enter the 'Install' folder, and then the 'runtime' folder. At the top of the window, left mouse click the top location bar in the empty space to the right of any text. Press CTRL+C together to save this location.
3. Open the graphics settings window - Use Windows search (hotkey ) entering the text 'GPU' - and click on 'Graphics Settings'.
4. Add Java executables - Click the 'Browse' button below the text 'Add an app'. In the folder window left mouse click the top location bar in the empty space to the right of any text. When I open Minecraft, there are no issues. there are no issues when i run curseforge with fabric mods, there are still no issues. However, when i run forge mods, i get the 'incompatible' error. i can't find an issue with minecraft, and my friends can run the same modpack and it's fine.

For both mods, you will need to report to their respective devs and ask if they can properly mark their dependancies. CF will only download the dependencies for the users IF the dev tags them properly.

As for the simplediscordrpc, you would need to ask the dev where the dependency for Forge is, Its possible the caterlib was archived for X reasons.

Many devs are also making the change from Forge to NeoForge as well. So could be an issue there as well

1: download the wanted addon

Hello all, trying to play the mod pack cursed walking on curseforge (1.20.1). 3 out of 4 of us are playing it just fine, but the 4th person cannot. When they tried to even create a single player world it starts to load everything and right when they should drop in the game crashes and gives error -1. If they try to join my game LAN same error. It says xxx player has joined and then bam their game crashes. If they try to join my game via essential mods same error. There's 3 of us playing i set us up so idk why the 4th doesn't work. Things I've tried:

Triple checking all forge versions and modpack editions.

Completely deleting MC, cf, the packs, reinstall Java, all of it.

Downloading the modpack cursed walking from curse forge and uploading, installing via cursforge, and I emailed the modpack over that I'm using to upload into profiles. All 3 same error.

Other modpacks works, so it's not their PC, as well as cursed walking lite works.

Idk if this is mc support or curseforge.

Need to have an understanding in that before you can modify a pack you didnt make. Would need to ask the packs devs as only they will know those answeres.

While yes the point of moding is to make the game more fun, it also means you need to pay more attention to what the mods are doing. Not just throw things together and pray they work

The BMC packs are already not the most stable packs to start with, adding mods to them break the packs real fast due to whatever the devs did to get it to work to start with (Something we dont have the answers to here)

Hey, I'm on mac, playing minecraft. I can't launch any modpacks from the curseforge launcher, even if I make a completely empty pack to play. The minecraft icon shows up in the hotbar and then just bounces. Anyone have any ideas?

Sadly, I don't know enough about Mac issues to be of help. But it sounds like Minecraft is having some issues launching. Have you tried to use the method "Repair installation"?

Can you Synchronize Modpacks on other devices?
I haven't fount the setting yet, so i suppose i can't.

So basicly the modpacks i have installed on the app on my pc synchronizing with the app on my laptop. So i can play / work on modpacks from somewhere else

You can actually if you manually download the file from modrinth and place it in the mods folder in your Curseforge profile. But you can't publish those mods in a pack on CF without the mod dev's permission or if it's on the third party list.

You log in on Microsoft? The curseforge app uses a copy of the official mc launcher. And not the one that uses the .minecraft folder.

Think 2 different apps, using 2 different file locations.

This is to stop the 2 copies from breaking eachothers folder formates

CF still uses Microsoft auth systems for minecraft. Its safe to log in
