Changing your DNS server

i have been trying to upload a mod to curseforge, but it keeps getting rejected due to $aaa- particles not being referenced. when i inquired about this i was told to reinstal any mods that were in the overides folder. after doing so, the mods remained in this folder, even after totaly removing a mod it STILL remained in this folder. the mods were dark waters and eldritch end. the filepath is [modpack name]\overrides\mods.connector.

Don't use the browse menu, use the add content button () when you click into the modpack profile instead! Then you will be able to download the correct mods for that version

Also, I would recommend using Neoforge on 1.20.4 and up rather than forge as most mods have now stopped supporting forge because Neoforge is better performant and some other reasons I can't remember

Looking for help with a repeating issue a friend is having. Curseforge returns a Java runtime error when opening 90% of curse modpacks

Fabric modpacks launched through curse are okay, and the error occurs even when no mods are loaded and it's just an empty profile

We've tested every version from 1.20.1 to 1.19.0

Java has been deleted and reinstalled, Curseforge has been deleted and reinstalled

We've tried Java 8, 17, 21

RLcraft (Forge), Crazycraft (Forge), and Medieval MC (Fabric) Are able to open just fine

This seems inexplicable to me, and it's making me and the 9 others working on it loose our minds

How to set Minecraft to use the correct GPU in Windows

If Minecraft will not start then use the tool linked at the bottom!

1. Start the modpack you wish to fix. If it will not start, then click the in the top right of the app then select Run Vanilla Minecraft. In the launcher that opens, go to the Installations tab and choose New Installation. Choose a name and select the Minecraft version of the modpack you are trying to run (like 1.19.4 or 1.7.10). Once created play it by clicking the green Play button that appears when hovering over it in the list of installations.
2. Open Task Manager while Minecraft is running (Press Ctrl + Shift + Esc to open Task Manager)
3. Find minecraft in that list. It will be called something like "Java" or "OpenJDK Binary". (tip: sort by ram usage by clicking on the "Memory" tab. Minecraft uses a lot of ram so will be at the top)
4. Right click it and Open File Location
5. Copy the file path from Windows Explorer by clicking into the address bar and pressing Ctrl + C
6. Press and type in GPU, then press Enter to open Graphics Settings
7. Under Graphics performance preference select Desktop App
8. Click Browse
9. Click the address bar and paste in the folder location you copied by pressing Ctrl + V, then press Enter
10. Select the javaw or javaw.exe file from the files in front of you (tip: press J to immediately jump to the files that start with that letter)
11. Once selected, click Add in the bottom right of the window
12. Click the Options button on the newly added option
13. Set it to High performance on the best GPU you have

Deleting doesnt fully remove files from databases, more just from players view. Youll have to make an edit then upload the new file

Depends on what support is able to find and how long a fix will take for it.

Problem with this issue is it seems to only hit certain users. not all users. Which makes it harder to fix as it cant easily be replicated.

Note: You can add RPs and BPs to old worlds, however this can cause issues depending on the pack, be sure to backup your worlds first
