Idk why but after updating Curseforge launcher, my modded Minecraft wont open at all. It was working fine til yesterday.
It just gets stuck at Mojang screen. w Tiny bit of bar left. I tried reading the log but yeah sure it did say stuff bout mods but like it was working fine anyway. Plus I did not change anything aside from updating Curseforge. I didnt even restart or update anything on my PC as I usually leave it on.

Fixed for now: I was previous using "Skip Launcher" fine, but changed to "Use Mojang launcher" my MC works again.

it won't delete your modpacks no, because modded content is stored in one place, and the app files in a different place. however oops is usually not an install problem, it's a networking issue. you should send a ticket to curseforge, and until you hear back, try restarting your network router and computer (leave them powered off for at least 30 seconds before turning back on)

I wanted to play Minecraft with friends during the holidays, and they decided to download some mods. So I installed Minecraft, the newest version of Java, CurseForge, the modpack Integrated MC, 3 Create mods, and Twilight Forest. The vanilla version starts perfectly, but the Forge version gives me Exit code 1. I changed the memory settings in Curseforge so that Minecraft has enough memory to execute. I read in another post that this means I have to look into the logs. However, due to my limited knowledge, I wanted to ask for some assistance. I would love to play with them in the next days 🙂

forge is a minecraft modloading system
neoforge forked from forge in 1.20.1. they do not recommend using neo for 1.20.1 as it was only a prototype basically and mods written for that version usuallly work better on 1.20.1.

It looks like the Minecraft launcher which the Curseforge app uses is failing to self-update itself.
Usually this specific message found is because the current version of the Minecraft launcher cannot properly contact the update web resources. To attempt to fix that, do the following:

2. Restart your Curseforge app (or computer just to be sure).

The app delete the mods correctly, but not the configs - however the configs do not matter as they are not loaded and the app removing them could be annoying some for some people

LAN and Modded MC

Lan and Modded MC has never worked all that well, as Minecraft's LAN was really only built to support Vanilla. Modded introduces a lot more files that may need to be synced per player, this can be taxing on a lan connection, due to the host needing to work double time (or more depending on player count)

Easiest fix: make a local server and join it !mc-installserver OR rent/find a server online to join.

1. Click the Icon for the modpack.
2. Click the button next to play.
3. Click Export.
4. Select the files that should be included.
5. Send the zip to the people that want it! They can follow the instructions in !mc-installpack to install the pack.

:small_blue_diamond: Upload to Curseforge - For Public Release to Everyone

This option will make your pack public to EVERYONE, it comes with extra requirements and will take some effort to set up.

1. Go to create a new project
2. Fill out the information with a proper description of the pack. This should allow anyone to understand what the pack is.
3. Click the Icon for the modpack in the CurseForge app.
4. Click the button next to play.
5. Click Export.
6. Select the files that should be included.
7. Open your Project that you made on the CurseForge site and Upload the file you just made.
8. Wait for Moderation & Sync so it can show up in the client! (See !sync for limitations and !status to learn about the moderation process and how long it will take to approve/decline)
