How to set Minecraft to use the correct GPU in Windows

If Minecraft will not start then use the tool linked at the bottom!

1. Start the modpack you wish to fix. If it will not start, then click the in the top right of the app then select Run Vanilla Minecraft. In the launcher that opens, go to the Installations tab and choose New Installation. Choose a name and select the Minecraft version of the modpack you are trying to run (like 1.19.4 or 1.7.10). Once created play it by clicking the green Play button that appears when hovering over it in the list of installations.
2. Open Task Manager while Minecraft is running (Press Ctrl + Shift + Esc to open Task Manager)
3. Find minecraft in that list. It will be called something like "Java" or "OpenJDK Binary". (tip: sort by ram usage by clicking on the "Memory" tab. Minecraft uses a lot of ram so will be at the top)
4. Right click it and Open File Location
5. Copy the file path from Windows Explorer by clicking into the address bar and pressing Ctrl + C
6. Press and type in GPU, then press Enter to open Graphics Settings
7. Under Graphics performance preference select Desktop App
8. Click Browse
9. Click the address bar and paste in the folder location you copied by pressing Ctrl + V, then press Enter
10. Select the javaw or javaw.exe file from the files in front of you (tip: press J to immediately jump to the files that start with that letter)
11. Once selected, click Add in the bottom right of the window

Can someone explain to me why curseforge isnt working on my MacBook? The app itself was stuck on “forging your library”, I delete it thinking I can just redownload it and it’ll be fine. Nothing curseforge related will work. The download site, the support site, nothing will load but every other website loads fine. It isn’t my internet. Howdy, it would seem Curseforge standalone client no longer automatically starts when windows 11 starts up. I tried uninstalling and reinstalling (v1.265.0.21056) and still behaves the same way. I thought there used to be a setting to enable or disable the client starting up with windows or not but no longer see it. Is the option removed now and or should I manually add it to the startup apps via some registry edit?

At the moment only the steam version is detectable. This is due to how Microsoft handles filer permissions for the Gamepass. No eta on when/if the Gamepass will be usable.

hey folks, maybe a bit of an edge case question, but I can't login to my CurseForge app on Linux (btw love that you guys support Linux!)
It's installed with an AppImage, the Login buttong takes me to the website, I get the token from Twitch login, but then the "Open App" button doesn't redirect me back to the application.
This is what the link looks like: cfauth://login?accessToken=<token>

main reason for this is because I have Premium and I wanted to make use of the advantages there too, like updating a bunch of mods in parallel

You need java installed to be able to run the Forge modloader, If your local hosting tho, would recommend this tool:

it works fine usually. it's just a boilerplate message. how are you trying to submit the mod? you're supposed to 'cook' ark mods.

curseforge partnered with Ark to integrate directly into the actual Ark game. how it is managed is different from other games that are hosted on CF

Umm... Please help... I was building a modpack, no big deal, everything was working fine, then all of a sudden MC began crashing with exit code 1. The next time I launched (and several times after that trying to figure out why it is happening) MC is not using more than 1gig of RAM. It has 12gig dedicated for use out of my 64gig in my system. Only other thing running is Discord. I ask here first because I do run MC through curseforge app. Also, should 1.20.1 be running on Java 17 or 21?
