Updated my drivers to try and play a modpack that wasn't working, then restarted my computer and uninstalled then reinstalled curseforge and now all of my modpacks that were previously working have the black screen. The only other issue I had is the crashing caused by Curseforge. I would try to run the game through forge without any mods and it would crash instantly with a exit code (exit code 1). The only mod I could run was better MC but it had to be 1.20 and even then it was buggy with missing textures like the enchantment table.

That's... really odd. I don't think changing mod manager is going to help, but you are welcome to try. That access violation is, as far as I've seen, always caused by outdated drivers

How to set Minecraft to use the correct GPU in Windows

1. Find your modding folder location - In the Curseforge app press the options button at the top , then press the modding folder .
2. Saving folder location - In the now opened folder window > double mouse click to enter the 'Install' folder, and then the 'runtime' folder. At the top of the window, left mouse click the top location bar in the empty space to the right of any text. Press CTRL+C together to save this location.
3. Open the graphics settings window - Use Windows search (hotkey ) entering the text 'GPU' - and click on 'Graphics Settings'.
4. Add Java executables - Click the 'Browse' button below the text 'Add an app'. In the folder window left mouse click the top location bar in the empty space to the right of any text. 1. Download and install this current Java version
2. Open CurseForge and click the in the bottom left corner.
3. Go to the Minecraft tab and scroll down to "Java version used for installing Forge modloader"
4. Click Select
5. In the file explorer window that opens, click on This PC, then Windows (C:)
6. Open the Program Files folder, then the Eclipse Adoptium folder, then the folder with the same version number as Java just installed, then the bin folder.
7. Click on javaw.exe, then confirm it with Open, in the bottom right of file explorer.
8. Follow the instructions from !mc-installfix (if your internet is slow the instructions from !mc-updatemodloader work but need to be done on every broken profile)

Hello - I need some assistance. I use CurseForge via Google Chrome. I have an annual subscription, so I don't have to wait to download content for The Sims 4. I do NOT use the CurseForge Application. For the past couple of weeks, whenever I click a link from a creator to their download on CurseForge (to the actual item/set), the page opens, and then, within a few seconds, "compacts" or "compresses" the page. I have to Refresh the page and quickly click on the creator's name to go to their full page and then click the download button to download content. If the item is new or newly updated, it is easy; however, if the item is an older link, I have to scroll through (sometimes, dependent on the creator's amount of content) pages and pages of content to find what I had been directly linked to. It is frustrating, and I'm not sure why this is happening. I have cleared all the caches in Chrome for CurseForge and made sure my Google Chrome is updated to the newest version. Can someone explain why this is happening and what I can do to fix the issue?

No, but if you go to a modpack and open the folder for it, you can access a modlist.html file which lists all the mods in your browser.

It was just in the folder for the modpack I picked, but maybe not every modpack has one. I'm no expert on minecraft stuff so perhaps I just got lucky with my modpack choice.

Oh, I think that's why. Modlist html files are generated with created modpacks that are uploaded and then downloaded. Curseforge generates the file with the pack. A user generated pack like the one's I've created for development do not contain one.

OK, work around for you. If you export it and save the zip somewhere on your pc, it generates the modlist.html file inside the zip.

you cannot change the minecraft version or the loader type of a profile once it's made. you can only change the loader version and that's it

if you want to change for example using neoforge 1.21.1 instead of forge 1.21.1 you would need to make a new profile

Played this morning no problems. Opened app just now and it logged me out. Logged in with normal credintials and logged into random account with no games loaded and no modpacks. When i go online it says my account has been active for 9 days which it defiantly isn't. I just want to play my old save.

the profile you had and the saves folder inside that profile are still where they used to be. you can copy only the saves folder from the old to the new location if you wish instead

Hey, sorry in advance if this question has been asked before. I was wondering if there is a way to basically copy a curseforge instance/modpack and paste it into the default launcher. I would like to do this, in order to be able to not only start the modpack offline but also, since the default launcher saves all of the saves etc., I will not have to keep exporting and importing my modpacks, every time I change devices.
