it sounds like a file access permission issue with your windows vs the location the files are stored. i'd suggest changing the folder that the app is using to store profiles

How to **manually** install a server - **On your own PC**

1. Check if the modpack has a server pack, if it does: use that and skip below.
2. Go to the Forge website http://files.minecraftforge.net/ and download the Installer for the forge version the pack is using.
3. Run the installer and choose Install server. Do not install to your desktop. Also do not install inside a OneDrive folder.
4. Run the server using the forge.jar. A file called eula.txt will be generated. Open it and change eula=false to eula=true
5. From the Client; Copy the mods folder, config folder, and any other folders needed for the pack to work into the server folder. If the modpack has a server pack, use this instead!
6. Run the server again.
7. Port forward your machine if needed. (Google it)

The simplified steps:

1. Download server pack from curseforge
2. Unzip Server pack
3. Install Universalator, unzip it, and place it in the unzipped server pack folder
4. Place server pack folder in C:\ or any other drive root (It can actually be any non-system folder, but a root is the easiest I've found)
5. Run Universalator.bat (windows defender will try to stop you, click "More Options" then click "Run Anyway"
6. Follow onscreen instructions

Heyy, I have a technical issue and no clue how to solve it; I downloaded Curseforge, latest java (for macbook) minecraft and a mod called Better Minecraft, however when I want to play, it opens a flickering black screen. I've tried repair profile, update everything and my memory settings are at 8000 mb (my laptop has 16 gb ram). Minecraft works fine on it's own but any mod with curse forge gives the flickering black screen when I press play. Anyone knows whatsup?

How to upload a server pack

Serverpacks are special files uploaded alongside an existing project file.

*In order to upload a server pack you must have a pre-uploaded export file

1. Make the server pack by zipping up the required files by selecting the required folders & files. It should include the config and mod folders at a minimum, plus anything else you specifically required to run the server. Start/Run/Setup scripts are optional. Don't include modloader files or the minecraft server jar.
2. Go to the Files tab on the project.
3. Click the name of the file you wish to upload the server pack to. The pack and server should match pack versions.
4. Click Upload Additional File.
5. Fill out the form.

I'm trying to use curseforge but it's like the whole app is frozen. None of the buttons for playing or installing mods work. It'll register that my mouse is hovering over the button but when I click play nothing happens and when I click install it's just gets grayed. And when I click on a mod or it's thumbnail to see what it's about it shows a loading bar or gives me a dark page with a loading bar. When that bar fills nothing happens and I have to close overwolf through task manager in order to get rid of the dark page.

Couple things I would try for this. (Ill list how after)
1: make aure the cf app is using the correct video card
2: reinstall the gpus drivers from the manufacturer site/app
3: restart the pc and try adjusting the hinge angles, this is how you can see if its a internal cable issue

You shouldn't have to. If it keeps resetting, it's possible the app is trying to stop you from using ALL the physical RAM so the OS can use some to operate.

I'm sorry, I think I haven't made myself clear. What I'm trying to do is launch Minecraft using 10gb of ram when my max is 8gb. To do so, I'm changing the JVM arguments to set the max to 10gb. But it's annoying to always do so when I launch the game, and curseforge only goes up to 8gb and sets the max ram everytime to 8gb. So i was wondering if launching using the default launcher is as easy as copying the curseforge instance's folders and files onto the .minecraft instance or is there other steps to do?

Skipping launcher is very much a new feature. Would just enable the launcher

Chances are it's because your modding path doesn't match where they are. It's as easy as copying them to the instances folder that cf is looking at

!mc-path can use this to find where cf says it's installing things. Don't need to change it. Just copy

Curseforge wont launch Minecraft without AMD software installed but the problem with this is if AMD software is installed, it uses AMD graphics instead of my nvidia GPU, making Minecraft run pretty slow if shaders are installed. Fix for this?

How to set Minecraft to use the correct GPU in Windows

If Minecraft will not start then use the tool linked at the bottom!

1. Start the modpack you wish to fix. If it will not start, then click the in the top right of the app then select Run Vanilla Minecraft. In the launcher that opens, go to the Installations tab and choose New Installation. Choose a name and select the Minecraft version of the modpack you are trying to run (like 1.19.4 or 1.7.10). Once created play it by clicking the green Play button that appears when hovering over it in the list of installations.
2. Find minecraft in that list. It will be called something like "Java" or "OpenJDK Binary". (tip: sort by ram usage by clicking on the "Memory" tab. Minecraft uses a lot of ram so will be at the top)
3. Right click it and Open File Location
4. Copy the file path from Windows Explorer by clicking into the address bar and pressing Ctrl + C
5. Press and type in GPU, then press Enter to open Graphics Settings
6. Under Graphics performance preference select Desktop App
7. Click Browse
8. Click the address bar and paste in the folder location you copied by pressing Ctrl + V, then press Enter
9. Select the javaw or javaw.exe file from the files in front of you (tip: press J to immediately jump to the files that start with that letter)
10. Once selected, click Add in the bottom right of the window
11. Click the Options button on the newly added option
12. Set it to High performance on the best GPU you have

Playing with a shaders mod like Oculus, Iris, or others and want more flair to your world? Don’t know what shader to pick from or where to look? try looking on Shaderlabs or the customization tab on the CurseForge site.

To get started using shaders:

1. Download the shader mod and its requirements for the mod loader you’re using and run the game at least once to generate the shaderpacks folder
2. Download the shader you want from either the CurseForge site or Shaderlabs (linked above)
3. In the CurseForge app, right-click the modpack profile icon OR click the button in the modpack profile
4. Click Open Folder
5. Open the shaderpacks folder and place the shader file you downloaded in there
6. Select the shader file in the in-game shaders menu and wait for it to load (if it needs to)
7. Play!

WARNING: Shaders do not appear on the CurseForge app. Not every shader will work with Iris or Oculus. Be aware of your computer's ability to handle shaders

You might find content on the website that won't be on the app.

In order to show on the app:

• Projects MUST have a file marked as Release :release: or Beta :beta:
• Projects MUST be Approved
• Projects MUST have a file marked for the game version selected/loaded
• Projects CANNOT be Experimental
• Projects CANNOT be Abandoned
