Trying to assist my friend. Just of late he seems to be having issues downloading modpacks that are neoforge based. They are very slow and I mean very slow to download and install. We have tried several things like updating java, reinstalling curseforge, doing the repair installation. I have tried on mine and it works fine. Before it was saying the central directory was corrupt, so we did the repair installatiojn on curseforge and that error message stopped coming up and the packs started installing and now this where its literally installing at snails pace. The modpacks are not too big, his internet speed is fine and stable. Needing some help with this.

Yes, thats Forge, Not Curseforge, your doing it the manual way. Once you have the modloader installed you need to install the mods needed to actually load the shaders. Like Oculus or Optifine

Hello, I have a big problem. When I start Minecraft in 1.16.5 via Curseforge, it works great, even with mods, and all versions below 1.16.5 work wonderfully. But as soon as I start a version above 1.16.5, such as 1.17 up to the latest version, it always crashes in the Minecraft launcher. I think it's the same with exit code 1, even with mods. But the strange thing is that with fabric everything is normal. And nobody knows the problem. I've already watched several videos and nobody knows what it is. I urgently need help. 1. Click on the picture of the modpack.
2. Click the Add More Content button, IF this button is not there, see below before you continue.
3. Find the Mods, Resource Packs or Maps you wish to Install and click Install on them.
4. Wait for all the required mods to be downloaded.
5. Start the modpack.

How to Enable/Disable content management for modpacks:

1. Click on the picture of the modpack.
2. Click on the button next to the Play button.
3. Click on Profile Options.
4. Check the Allow content management for this profile option if you want to edit the content of the modpack, uncheck it to disable.

NOTE: The Allow content management for this profile option is what allows you to Delete, Disable, Update or Install any Mods, Resource Packs or Maps managed by CurseForge. It must be ON to modify any of them! (Currently)

The simplified steps:

1. Download server pack from curseforge
2. Unzip Server pack
3. Install Universalator, unzip it, and place it in the unzipped server pack folder
4. Place server pack folder in C:\ or any other drive root (It can actually be any non-system folder, but a root is the easiest I've found)
5. Run Universalator.bat (windows defender will try to stop you, click "More Options" then click "Run Anyway"
6. Follow onscreen instructions

Two ways to share a modpack you made with others

1. Click the Icon for the modpack.

4. Select the files that should be included.
5. Send the zip to the people that want it! They can follow the instructions in !mc-installpack to install the pack.

:small_blue_diamond: Upload to Curseforge - For Public Release to Everyone

This option will make your pack public to EVERYONE, it comes with extra requirements and will take some effort to set up.

1. Go to create a new project
2. Fill out the information with a proper description of the pack. This should allow anyone to understand what the pack is.
3. Click the Icon for the modpack in the CurseForge app.
4. Click the button next to play.
5. Click Export.
6. Select the files that should be included.
7. Open your Project that you made on the CurseForge site and Upload the file you just made.
8. Wait for Moderation & Sync so it can show up in the client! (See !sync for limitations and !status to learn about the moderation process and how long it will take to approve/decline)

How to upload a server pack

Serverpacks are special files uploaded alongside an existing project file.

1. Make the server pack by zipping up the required files by selecting the required folders & files. It should include the config and mod folders at a minimum, plus anything else you specifically required to run the server. Start/Run/Setup scripts are optional. 2. Go to the Files tab on the project.
3. Click the name of the file you wish to upload the server pack to. The pack and server should match pack versions.

I recently started playing palworld and would like to install some mods, so I tried to add it to curseforge to make the process easier, however, after selecting the "check games on computer" option it was not added, I then tried to add it manually, but I wasn't successful and trying to research how to do this I only came across tutorials on how to download Minecraft modpacks. can anybody help me? 1: yess you can over allocate to minecraft, anything over 10gb is considered overkill unless your running some stupid high end shaders and need the boost. But even that comes with risks.

4-8gb is the communities recommendation after over a decade now of testing.

2: you should be restarting your pc more often, restarts can help pcs more then end users realize. Think of a pc reboot like taking a shower. Help clean up any stuck or unneeded processes that may be stuck or running wild

Reboot your pc, and lower the ram allocated to mc. See if that helps

How to set Minecraft to use the correct GPU in Windows

If Minecraft will not start then use the tool linked at the bottom!

1. Start the modpack you wish to fix. If it will not start, then click the in the top right of the app then select Run Vanilla Minecraft. In the launcher that opens, go to the Installations tab and choose New Installation. Choose a name and select the Minecraft version of the modpack you are trying to run (like 1.19.4 or 1.7.10). Once created play it by clicking the green Play button that appears when hovering over it in the list of installations.
2. Find minecraft in that list. It will be called something like "Java" or "OpenJDK Binary". (tip: sort by ram usage by clicking on the "Memory" tab. Minecraft uses a lot of ram so will be at the top)
3. Right click it and Open File Location
4. Copy the file path from Windows Explorer by clicking into the address bar and pressing Ctrl + C
5. Press and type in GPU, then press Enter to open Graphics Settings
6. Under Graphics performance preference select Desktop App
7. Click Browse
8. Click the address bar and paste in the folder location you copied by pressing Ctrl + V, then press Enter
9. Select the javaw or javaw.exe file from the files in front of you (tip: press J to immediately jump to the files that start with that letter)
10. Once selected, click Add in the bottom right of the window
11. Click the Options button on the newly added option
12. Set it to High performance on the best GPU you have

If Minecraft will not start then use the tool linked at the bottom!

1. Start the modpack you wish to fix. If it will not start, then click the in the top right of the app then select Run Vanilla Minecraft. In the launcher that opens, go to the Installations tab and choose New Installation. Choose a name and select the Minecraft version of the modpack you are trying to run (like 1.19.4 or 1.7.10). Once created play it by clicking the green Play button that appears when hovering over it in the list of installations.
2. Find minecraft in that list. It will be called something like "Java" or "OpenJDK Binary". (tip: sort by ram usage by clicking on the "Memory" tab. Minecraft uses a lot of ram so will be at the top)
3. Right click it and Open File Location
4. Copy the file path from Windows Explorer by clicking into the address bar and pressing Ctrl + C
5. Press and type in GPU, then press Enter to open Graphics Settings
6. Under Graphics performance preference select Desktop App
7. Click Browse
8. Click the address bar and paste in the folder location you copied by pressing Ctrl + V, then press Enter
9. Select the javaw or javaw.exe file from the files in front of you (tip: press J to immediately jump to the files that start with that letter)
10. Once selected, click Add in the bottom right of the window
