How to set Minecraft to use the correct GPU in Windows

If Minecraft will not start then use the tool linked at the bottom!

1. Open Task Manager while Minecraft is running (Press Ctrl + Shift + Esc to open Task Manager)
2. Find minecraft in that list. It will be called something like "Java" or "OpenJDK Binary". (tip: sort by ram usage by clicking on the "Memory" tab. Minecraft uses a lot of ram so will be at the top)
3. Right click it and Open File Location
4. Copy the file path from Windows Explorer by clicking into the address bar and pressing Ctrl + C
5. Press and type in GPU, then press Enter to open Graphics Settings
6. Under Graphics performance preference select Desktop App
7. Click Browse
8. Click the address bar and paste in the folder location you copied by pressing Ctrl + V, then press Enter
9. Select the javaw or javaw.exe file from the files in front of you (tip: press J to immediately jump to the files that start with that letter)
10. Once selected, click Add in the bottom right of the window
11. Click the Options button on the newly added option
12. Set it to High performance on the best GPU you have

From what I'm seeing, it's not a Mojang error but an Xbox one.

Modifying modpacks you didnt make is the fastest way to break them. Either play the pack how the dev made it OR make your own custom modpack from scratch

Generally users that wish to edit pre-made packs are on their own to fix issues, as we have 0 clue how the original dev made the pack work they way they did, nor what you changed.. it can be a never ending wormhole of errors

We can aid with unedited pre-mades OR custom packs made from scratch.

Use the cf app to make a new profile then install the mods you want. Test the pack as you make it so that you develop a base line of what works and what doesnt. Will save you headaches in the long run.

If you run into issues, can post the logs in #🧱︱mc-other-help , you will need to get the minecraft role from #🎭︱pick-your-roles to access the room

Im in desperate need of support! Im trying to download any modpack, and the loading only shows up as "Installing", and the % keeps increasing by 3% each time, but it does not show any of the "downloading mod 1 out of 46" and so on. After its completed, it says "Downloading Java Runtime 8" or something like that, and the modpack shows up as downloaded. However, when I open up the modpack, its empty. All folders: mods, resourcepacks, shaderpacks, everything, its basically just vanilla MC. Can someone pleaase help me?

Hm.. looks like this Overwolf installation is a bit old, it might have something to do with it. Does Overwolf launch as it should? You could try right clicking the tray icon (wolf head) and go into Settings and see if there's an update available.

I noticed that adding arguments, using skip launcher new function and editing mc options from curseforge, prevents the game from loading, it downloads stuff when you hit play but ends up doing nothing, when you revert to use the mc launcher again, the game will close with error code 1, the only fix is to not use the mc options features from curseforge launcher and fixing the profile

This option will make your pack public to EVERYONE, it comes with extra requirements and will take some effort to set up.

1. Go to create a new project
2. Fill out the information with a proper description of the pack. This should allow anyone to understand what the pack is.
3. Click the Icon for the modpack in the CurseForge app.
4. Click the button next to play.
5. Click Export.
6. Select the files that should be included.
7. Open your Project that you made on the CurseForge site and Upload the file you just made.
8. Wait for Moderation & Sync so it can show up in the client! (See !sync for limitations and !status to learn about the moderation process and how long it will take to approve/decline)

When you are adding mods on curse forge, there's a compatibility sorter.

All of my modpacks (pre update which were working fine) after the update are crashing. But I downloaded a couple modpacks to test them and they work fine. If you have a modpack that’s crashing, try deleting it and redownloading it. If you have a world you’d like to save, you can go to the mod folder and click on saves and move that world into the redownloaded modpack

Trying to create my first project, I'm getting a generic Error creating project: when I hit the create button, with no more information. When I look back through the tabs after the error I noticed that the Main and Additional category inputs are wiped out. However it also seems that whatever Euphoria is, you downloaded the wrong version for that version of Minecraft. Install mods on your profile in curseforge via the button, that way you can't install mods for a different version of Minecraft. You're on 1.16.5, that Euphoria version is for 1.18.2

This option will make your pack public to EVERYONE, it comes with extra requirements and will take some effort to set up.

2. Fill out the information with a proper description of the pack. This should allow anyone to understand what the pack is.

4. Click the button next to play.
5. Click Export.
6. Select the files that should be included.

In order to share your Minecraft log, navigate to your instance folder. The process will vary slightly in other launchers, but this message describes the process in the CurseForge launcher. In the CurseForge launcher you will need to click the ellipsis inside of the modpack instance and click "Open Folder". Once in the folder you can open the subfolder called "Logs". Then open the file named "latest.log" in a text editor such as Notepad. Make sure that your log is most recent to the issue you were experiencing. Now copy the contents of the latest.log. Now go to the website "mclo.gs" and paste in your log contents that you had previously copied into the text box area. Then click the green save button. Now simply copy the website address and paste it into a text channel

ok so i deleted all modpacks with the mod i want, and made a new modpack, all i did this time was click install. it installed everything needed for the mod. the mc version was 1.18.2 and i tried with all the mods on. same crash. then i turned them all off. same crash. so its either fabric api, or fabric itself.

When attempting to load a new game, my game crashes. Two ways to share a modpack you made with others

Ok, so apparently it complains that it cannot find any java at all.
Could you open the settings in CurseForge, switch to Minecraft, and see if the "Java" setting is set to anything at all, and if not, can you set it to something? (I don't have Minecraft installed on my work computer, so I can't check)

Otherwise, you could try going to this folder in windows explorer C:\Users\Pichau\curseforge\minecraft\Install\java\Jre_8\
If there's a file called ASSEMBLY_EXCEPTION, try to delete that, then restart CurseForge (right click the tray icon and select Exit)
