How to get started with shaders

Playing with a shaders mod like Oculus, Iris, or others and want more flair to your world? Don’t know what shader to pick from or where to look? try looking on Shaderlabs or the shaders tab on the CurseForge site.

To get started using shaders:

1. Download the shader mod and its requirements for the mod loader you’re using and run the game at least once to generate the shaderpacks folder
2. Download the shader you want from either the CurseForge site or Shaderlabs (linked above)
3. In the CurseForge app, right-click the modpack profile icon OR click the button in the modpack profile
4. Click Open Folder
5. Open the shaderpacks folder and place the shader file you downloaded in there
6. Select the shader file in the in-game shaders menu and wait for it to load (if it needs to)
7. Play!

WARNING: Shaders do not appear on the CurseForge app. Not every shader will work with Iris or Oculus. Be aware of your computer's ability to handle shaders

Update: Fixed the infinite loading screen, now my modpack wont run it says invalid file.

This is a mac issue, macs have a stupid feature that auto unzips zip files on download. Youll either need to google how to disable that on your mac and re-download the file

OR
Open the folder of the pack you want to download > zip the 2 manifest files and the overrides folder in a zip > then import that

Otherwise send the "zip" here so I can make sure it was made correctly

Thank you very much for reaching out, One issue I had was that the file is zipped, but can't run on curseforge, where I also have the issue of trying to download other modpack through curseforge and not being able too, I also had a friend with a macbook too, install the same zip file and has worked.

Keep in mind with CF app updates. They follow a rolling out formate, meaning it slowly comes out for the world vs all at once. Some companies do this to help with the amount of traffic on the servers.

My Server Pack keeps getting rejected as a "Duplicate" submission, however it's not a duplicate submission. In fact, because it's been rejected as a duplicate submission, nobody is able to download the file.

It was initially uploaded to the wrong version, archived and deleted.
Then I tried to upload it twice more, and both times it was flagged as a duplicate.

Made my a server for the first time, and it works completely fine without mods. But, when i try to paste in the mods needed for vault hunters, which is what I want the server modpack to be, the server pauses, and the command prompt closes. For reference, I used the 1.18.2 version of forge for the server file, and i am directly copying all of the mods from the mods folder on the vault hunters installation. Could anyone help me?

Hello, so I am having an ongoing issue for about a few weeks with no idea how to fix this. My curseforge audio just doesn't work, and keeps launching in 'Silent Mode', and I'm clueless for what I gotta do to get it working again. I've tried removing dynamic surroundings, F3+T, restarting/reinstalling minecraft and curseforge, and any solution I've found on the internet without any resolve.

The only way the audio works is when I switch my sound device to my monitor, but its not really ideal. My main sound device is my mixer, which connects to my headset. That one is just completely silent when I open the game.

Please help idk what to do 🙏

rarely people have issue with the compression program used to create the zip file - you could change something about your profile (it cannot be identical to one you've previously tried in hash value), then after the zip gets made, unzip it and rezip it with something like 7zip, winrar, or just windows zip itself (maybe whatever prism is using is doing something weird with zip headers etc)

Curseforge was able to read the resource and datapacks located within Open Loader's folders. For some reason, it can't today.

I need Curseforge to be able to read those since I am planning to publish that modpack, and I have some packs that have components both in resource and datapacks.

5. Start the modpack.

4. Check the Allow content management for this profile option if you want to edit the content of the modpack, uncheck it to disable.

Yes. I’m not the only one who think it would be beneficial.
Modrinth for example has a field when uploading a file to a mod where you can sync the description with a specified file, for example the readme. I saw a few devs using this. I manage all my descriptions on GitHub in one repository. I update them there, it’s way easier. A GitHub workflow then updates on each push for these projects which were updated.
It’s pretty handy to do that. And some may say "how often do you update a description?"
You know what? I want to add features in my description. Maybe a small list what’s currently in. At top of the description something like "current news", for example about the porting process when a new Minecraft version is out.
At the moment, my script can only update Modrinth descriptions. That means: CurseForge descriptions are not up to date. It’s way too painful to go to a project, manage it, go to description, find the right position, update it. Imagine I needed to do that on both platforms, hell no. Descriptions would be so much worse.

2. Name it, select the required Minecraft version, select the modloader & modloader version (usually the highest number), click Create.
3. Click the profile icon.
4. Click Add More Content
5. Search and install the desired mods.
6. Start the game!
