Two ways to share a modpack you made with others

:small_blue_diamond: Export and Share - For Friends / Small Groups

1. Click the Icon for the modpack.
2. Click the button next to play.
3. Click Export.
4. Select the files that should be included.
5. Send the zip to the people that want it! They can follow the instructions in !mc-installpack to install the pack.

:small_orange_diamond: Upload to Curseforge - For Public Release to Everyone

This option will make your pack public to EVERYONE, it comes with extra requirements and will take some effort to set up.

1. Go to create a new project
2. Fill out the information with a proper description of the pack. This should allow anyone to understand what the pack is.
3. Click the Icon for the modpack in the CurseForge app.
4. Click the button next to play.
5. Click Export.
6. Select the files that should be included.
7. Open your Project that you made on the CurseForge site and Upload the file you just made.
8. Wait for Moderation & Sync so it can show up in the client! (See !sync for limitations and !status to learn about the moderation process and how long it will take to approve/decline)

you don't really. you install forge or fabric (or whatever you are using) on the server host, and then upload your mods folder, and any other folders that you know are custom and not just generated defaults

Hello. Ive been having problems with a specific modpack. The modpack in question is SteamPunk (LPS). About a month ago I started playing it and I had no problem opening it. Today for some reason I would not let me even open the modpack before instantly crashing. Hey, I am currently trying to install the curseforge app (without Overwolf), but I can not change the install directory of the app from inside the AppData folder in my C: drive

when I install the program with Overwolf I can change it. Is this intentional?

It is because it's easier to get permissions to store data in AppData than other places, I think that is the reason you cannot change that path.
But you can still change where mods gets installed.

How to set Minecraft to use the correct GPU in Windows

If Minecraft will not start then use the tool linked at the bottom!

1. Start the modpack you wish to fix. If it will not start, then click the in the top right of the app then select Run Vanilla Minecraft. In the launcher that opens, go to the Installations tab and choose New Installation. Choose a name and select the Minecraft version of the modpack you are trying to run (like 1.19.4 or 1.7.10). Once created play it by clicking the green Play button that appears when hovering over it in the list of installations.
2. Press Ctrl + Shift + Esc to open Task Manager
3. Find Minecraft in the list of running programs. It will be called something like Java or OpenJDK Binary. (tip: sort by ram usage by clicking on the Memory tab. Minecraft uses a lot of ram so will be at the top)
4. Right click it and Open File Location
5. Copy the file path from Windows Explorer by clicking into the address bar and pressing Ctrl + C
6. Press and type in GPU, then press Enter to open Graphics Settings
7. Under Graphics performance preference (called Custom options for apps in Win 11) select Desktop App
8. Click Browse
9. Click the address bar and paste in the folder location you copied by pressing Ctrl + V, then press Enter
10. Select the javaw or javaw.exe file from the files in front of you (tip: press J to immediately jump to the files that start with that letter)
11. Once selected, click Add in the bottom right of the window
12. Click the Options button on the newly added option
13. Set it to High performance on the best GPU you have

How do i credit mod makers in my modpack can i just make a notepad file with a list of all the mods and makers names beside them in a folder and add that folder into my modpackfolders?

the only real guidance i can find on this is a video from 8years ago so its probably not even relevant anymore

Hello, I have an issue. A new update of the Minecraft launcher has been release. When i want to play with curse forge and my mods i can't. it tells me "Minecraft for windows can't be launch with this version.. Open the new launcher" ( with some mistakes of translation). i think i don't understand something. maybe there is a button too change smt in curse forge but i don't know where it is ... may I get some help here? thanks you

4. Select the files that should be included.

This option will make your pack public to EVERYONE, it comes with extra requirements and will take some effort to set up.

1. Go to create a new project
2. Fill out the information with a proper description of the pack. This should allow anyone to understand what the pack is.
3. Click the Icon for the modpack in the CurseForge app.
4. Click the button next to play.
5. Click Export.
6. Select the files that should be included.
7. Open your Project that you made on the CurseForge site and Upload the file you just made.

In the cf there is not, but there is a way to set a global ram setting for all profiles to use by default.

I uninstalled and re-installed and it worked once and I was able to update some of my addons, but the next time I launched the app I am back to "Forging your library..."
I ran the troubleshooter, but it reported there were no errors.

Hello ! I created a modpack to play with my friends but I need to publish it so my friends can see the modpack on curseforge and we can play together. The problem is that I am asked to provide a better description (Features offered by the project and how those features affect user's experience).
The problem is that I explained what the modpack consists of, I said that I was not monetized and I put the list of all the mods that I put.

I would like to know what I really have to put for the mod pack to be accepted.

Hey, I have a problem because I downloaded on the curseforge app a modpack, but when I click "play" it downloads the original minecraft luncher and there everything runs. Is there any way to set up a way for the game to launch from the crystal luncher? Despite having the original game I prefer to use this luncher

we highly reccomend not using launchers that enable piracy even if you own the game. they are known to do sketchy things like steal your credentials or just be straight up malware
