hi, when i try to play one of the minecraft mods on curseforge, it opens a different launcher then the official one where i own minecraft. But on the other one i have to buy it again, How can i change what launcher it opens in?

I can't install any mods for The Sims 4, I had a lot of mods but I had to restore my PC back to before I installed the mods, and they all just broke completly. I have reinstalled The Sims, deleted every mod in the mod folder and I still can't do anything, when I press "install" nothing happens at all.

I just found out my mods are being downloaded and installed correctly BUT, none of them show up on "My Mods" thingie in Curse Forge, even if Curse Forge is installing them correctly in the folders. The "Scan Mods Folder" option doesn't fix this, it does say "X mods loaded succesfully for The Sims 4" but it doesn't ever show up on the app.

How to upload a server pack

Serverpacks are special files uploaded alongside an existing project file. If the main file is rejected the server pack is also rejected.

*In order to upload a server pack you must have a pre-uploaded export file

1. Make the server pack by zipping up the required files by selecting the required folders & files. It should include the config and mod folders at a minimum, plus anything else you specifically required to run the server. Start/Run/Setup scripts are optional. Don't include modloader files or the minecraft server jar.
2. Go to the Files tab on the project.
3. Click the name of the file you wish to upload the server pack to. The pack and server should match pack versions.
4. Click Upload Additional File.
5. Fill out the form.

Ah ok I see why now, your file is marked as Alpha, alpha files dont sync with the site/app search unless a beta/release file is present in the project.

You can edit the file and change it to Beta or Release tho

3. Find Minecraft in the list of running programs. It will be called something like Java or OpenJDK Binary. (tip: sort by ram usage by clicking on the Memory tab. Minecraft uses a lot of ram so will be at the top)
4. Right click it and Open File Location
5. Copy the file path from Windows Explorer by clicking into the address bar and pressing Ctrl + C
6. Press and type in GPU, then press Enter to open Graphics Settings
7. Under Graphics performance preference (called Custom options for apps in Win 11) select Desktop App
8. Click Browse
9. Click the address bar and paste in the folder location you copied by pressing Ctrl + V, then press Enter

Anyone knows about a tool, to periodically get the download count of all files for a mod from curseforge? I'd like to track the download history for each individual file over time of my mods.

And FYI, the curseforge API does not work because the downloadCount property provided by it for the files is way of or just 0.
I had a chat (ticket) with the support about that and they said its not supported.
Are there other options, except web scrapping?

So CF uses its own copy of the Official launcher, this is to stop the CF app from breaking the .minecraft folder and such. So your worlds are still in the .minecraft folders saves folder. All you need to do is copy the worlds from there to the saves folder in the profile your using.

Be sure to copy, not cut and paste. This way you will have a world backup incase something were to go wrong.

It very much can yes. It's a safe guard to prevent you from overallocating. Because if you do so, it can crash your pc. And guess who people will blame if they try it 😉

The max recommended for general gamplay regardless is 8192. This is more than sufficient for nearly all modpacks

Typically the reason it's crashing is bad code. You should talk to the dev. A memory crash will occur if the jvm runs out of memory, but that will only happen if you underallocate or you have a memory leak. If you are running out of memory at 8192 then you have a badly coded mod that's causing a memory leak

Yeah, optifine doesn't play nice with a lot of mods. We recommend mods like embeddium instead

So I just recently installed curseforge after buying both Minecraft Java and bedrock edition, I tried to play the “mustard virus zombie apocalypse mod.” But everytime I load it minecraft crashes saying it couldn’t find the dummy bind error -1. And it happened with the man in the fog mod as well. And I’m confused I don’t know how to fix this. Please help 😦

1. Open the Gforce Experience app
2. Click the drivers tab
3. Click the :CFmenu:
4. Select Studio drivers and install
5. Restart your pc
6. Play

hi im trying to build a new pack that i potentially want to publish. im using the mineworld mod but i do not want to use the mine world title screen. is there a way to disable the mineworld title screen to opt for my own? i am new to creating packs. this will be my second one but the first i want to potentially publish. any advice and help would be greatly appreciated.

Possible it quarentined the app for what ever random reason. Happens some times. Should be able to just reinstall the cf app

Windows Defender is a pretty good antivirus and it comes packaged in with Windows

You shouldn't need an outside one unless you need a second opinion on some files
