Ok so I have a GeForce RTX 2060 and, despite not being cutting-edge it still serves me very well even in new games like Starfield. However, it seems to absolutely lose its mind whenever the CurseForge launcher application tries to play video ads. Static image ads are fine, but as soon as a video ad pops up, my graphics settings go haywire. Nothing else on my computer does this. I can watch videos and video ads in my browser just fine. Closing CurseForge fixes the problem temporarily until I need it again. My settings used to allow the application to decide whether to use the GPU or onboard, and under that setting whenever a video ad played my settings would look... "crunchy". Like my entire display had been set to display everything as an extremely low quality JPEG through some sort of glitch filter. Except the ad, it would look great. I changed the setting so now it only uses GPU for that app. Now when a video ad plays, the ad flickers and the CurseForge app looks like it's melting, with blurry letters, and ghosting where text was prior to a scroll event.
How do I fix this? What is so weird about the ads CurseForge displays that they seem almost incompatible with my GPU?

It will search for anything names instances, including the folder in the old location CF may have used. If it's not listed then it's not on your machine

I keep facing issues where the world refuses to load more chunks. I'm playing on a mod pack with 100+ mods and whenever I go out more than 2k blocks, it refuses to load more chunks and pretty much freezes up the game. this is gonna be a longshot but I have tried everything. I recently bought the entire assassins creed franchise, and it would launch and after some trouble shooting (i literally factory reset my pc and downloaded only curseforge and assassins creed black flag) I have come to the conclusion that curseforge is causing my game to not launch anymore. Would anyone know why this would be. All of the assassins creed games play just fine right until I download curseforge.

like i said, i have literally factory reset my pc. and the ONLY things i have downloaded are steam ubisoft connect and the assassins creed game. I can play them for as long as I like but the second I download curseforge it breaks it and doesn't launch the game. then even after I unistall curseforge and all of its contents. It still wont work does the curseforge installer keep extra files that conflict with A.C. files That repair didn't really do much either. I contacted ubisoft as well but I was trying to get some techinical insight into curseforge files in case

I havent opened a ticket directly on CF thats what I came here for but I could open one in case they would have anymore technical insight. What really confuses me though is the fact that It will work until I download CF, and then even after uninstalling CF it still doesn't work. Using the CF uninstaller, nothing should be left after CF is uninstalled so why is that an issue

Hey so I just got CurseForge yesterday so I could play Pixelmon.
I installed everything and watched a few tutorial videos on how to set it all up to work.
I tried on 1.16.5 first, but I'm told:
"Mod File Pixelmon-1.20.2-9.2.6-universal.jar needs language provider javafml.48 or above to load."

HI EVERYONE I HAVE NOT QUICK QUESTION
So a lot of random Curseforge modpacks but not all of them, for a few months now, crash instantly upon launching them, giving me the Exit Code 1
My computer's specs are great, my internet is great, I have the latest java, Minecraft itself works fine outside of the launcher (and some modpacks still work). I also tried installing Curseforge without Overwolf but that one had the same problem.
All I can think to troubleshoot next is uninstalling and reinstalling Curseforge. Will doing that delete all of my saves?

hey so this is a problem I had for a couple days and after some trouble shooting I found the issue. This relates back to my post about AC Black Flag not working when I have curseforge installed. After some other attempts to figure out what is wrong, I figured out it was actually overwolf that was causing the issue. I put in a support ticket with ubisoft asking why overwolf just straight up crashes the game, and they said the most they can suggest is just not to download curse forge. Kind of unbelievable really, that Ubisoft would go out of their way to tell me to stop trying to play modded minecraft just because they are too lazy to roll out a fix

I have a problem launching Minecraft Forge. I have tried launching Minecraft Forge modpacks and the game keeps crashing. I ran a couple experiements and it's only Forge. All my Fabric modpacks or just regular Minecraft are just fine. I get a weird screen whenever I try launching a Forge modpack, or I get a crash report. Thats how a cf pack export looks. Apps like cf or that support cf exports, when imported will read the manifest and install the needed mods.

Ok so I now have a few problems with Curseforge, it's instances and a mods config. First off...randomly out of the blue, after the config was working fine the same day I downloaded the mod Splashy, the config file started resetting itself when I launched the version of Forge my modpack is in. I wanted to see if it was just the mod itself, So I created a new instance with just the mod and the config file. Now, no matter what I do in Curseforge, the config file for Splashy always resets itself. Secondly, I went back to my current instance I'm using to make my modpack after testing out the mod Splashy, and it gave me the warning that pops up when you first load in your Forge version...all over again. Luckily the configs were ok, and everything I changed was still active. However, when I went to open any config file aside from Splashy, it asked my what app I'd like the config to be set for...for every single one. Last but not least, I exited out of Curseforge and restarted my computer. Then I went back on Curseforge and loaded up my modpack instance, and it wouldn't let me join Forge. It said something along the lines of you can't join Minecraft. I reloaded the instance, and the bug was gone.
