Hello anyone. My run.bat file won't launch my 1.12 forge server. It runs when I launch the regular forge server jar though. I have this written in my run.bat

i just downloaded curseforge to add some resourcepacks. i created a new profile, messed up that version, and ended up creating another and installing mods with the correct versions. i went back to delete that originally created profile that had no mods installed for it and now all my worlds are gone. (not to mention to profile curseforge created won't even open and keeps crashing.)

is there any chance of saving this or am i totally screwed?

once the mc launcher opens, its an mc realted issue. Like Squiz has said the mc launcher the cf app uses is not the same one that uses the .minecraft folder.

CF uses a copy of the official mc launcher to stop accidental mixing of the 2 folders

Changing Java version for installing Forge

1. Install the latest Java 17 using the .msi installer that downloads when you click that link.
2. Open CurseForge and click the in the bottom left corner.
3. Go to the Minecraft tab and scroll down to "Java version used for installing Forge modloader"
4. Click Select
5. In the file explorer window that opens, click on This PC, then Windows (C:)
6. Open the Program Files folder, then the Java folder, then the folder that starts with jdk-, then the bin folder.
7. Click on javaw.exe, then confirm it with Open, in the bottom right of file explorer.
8. Follow the instructions from !mc-installfix (if your internet is slow the instructions from !mc-updatemodloader work but need to be done on every broken profile)

I might turn in a ticket if anybody’s unsure here, but after a (very quick) keyword search, I don’t see anyone who’s had the same issue as I, at least recently.

So, I got the Better Minecraft mod pack, and it loads! I got it a few weeks ago and have had fun with it. BUT, I decided to start exploring what the individual mods within the mod pack had to offer in a new “experimental” creative world since I’m relatively new to Minecraft (I used to watch it around a decade ago, so I remember a thing or two about vanilla, but it’s hit and miss), but long story, I started noticing that some of the mods didn’t appear to be active. As a matter of fact, I tried going to The End, and not only were none of the new biomes and other additional features around, but it was reverted back to an old version where it was just the dragon’s arena! I mean, the Aether works, and I’ve seen some of the new dungeons and mobs in the overworld, so some of the mods are evidently active.

That all said, I noticed not all of the individual mods were up to date for being the latest downloads within the Better Minecraft pack, but backing up my game file, duplicating the modpack within Curseforge, then updating a few of the individual mods as a test didn’t appear to do anything.

As a final note, I had a friend who just downloaded Better Minecraft themselves, and they have confirmed to me that certain mods within are automatically downloaded out of date?

Basically, it would be nice to figure out how to get all of the Better Minecraft modpack features to work, since someone who’s a fresh downloader is immediately running into the same issues as I.

(I apologize that I’m a dum dum with versions and files… I have some theories and speculations, but at the end of the day, my knowledge is lacking with these sorts of things)

curseforge doesnt make any of the modpacks on the site. those are made by different individuals/teams.
and yes, some of the mods downloaded will be out of date, as updating mods often causes issues that need to be resolved by the project authors, so curseforge lets the authors choose when to publish a modpack update that updates mods, instead of updating them automatically and potentially breaking it.

If you are having issues with parts of better minecraft not working, you should talk to the authors of that modpack, they know it better than anyone in this server

Though I will say I already know Curseforge isn’t responsible for the creation of the mods, I was wanting to make sure it wasn’t Curseforge itself acting up as a first step to troubleshooting. Since its job is to manage/organize the files (if I understand correctly), I wasn’t sure if there was some compatibility issue with Curseforge’s version vs. individual mods

1 I checked the code and it says either my internett is offline (it is not)
2 Delete my Cache (Did that every time this happended, but still did not work)
3 Close all other tabs (this did not work either)
4 Restart computer (Also did this)
5 Update chrome (last update is installed currently)
6 Check for unwanted software. (also did this)
7 Try opening it with incognito mode (this for some reason worked)

I have a friend who is trying to join on Mac. She is using a custom mod pack. When she clicks play nothing happens or launches.
We have tried deleting curse forge and reinstalling, rebooting Minecraft, closing the app in task manager, repair install option, delete Minecraft and reinstall it, allocating ram.

Hi guys i got a problem as i try to host the server everything goes right, but when i try to join the server, it says mismatched channel list, even if i installed server pack and client pack from the same source. What can i do to solve? It happens even with others servers.

I did read all the material to solve the problem, but there's no way to fix this. The mismatched list refers to mods that are already in the folders, both client and server. For some reason the official source provides around 214 mods for server side and 255 for client side, and i found 0 solutions online. What am i supposed to do?

I beg for help cuz if i just open to lan everything works, i just want to host the server without being in the game.

Hello there! I'm having an issue with updating my addons through the curseforge app. I'm getting a "General Install Error" when trying to update my addons. I previously moved my world of warcraft game file, & after scanning the disk for games, World of Warcraft is showing up as well as all the addons I had installed. I'm trying to install a modpack from a friend, he has zero issues getting it installed and I'm constantly running into problems, first it crashed when trying to launch, now it won't even install any of the mods (Stuck on Installing 1 of 165, even though the mod is less then 1mb on 200mbs internet) and now I can't even install the 1.20.1 package. So I've been trying to update some mods in my mod pack I put together and I noticed it was giving me a hard time with updating them.

So I attempted to trouble shoot to see why it was giving me issues and I'm now at a point where it refuses to install any mods or update them for that matter.

Even when starting a fresh profile to test why this might be it also refuses to install any mods, API's etc.

All it gives me is a "general error"

I did find a small fix though, you’re still able to make custom profiles and add mods to them, download mods off the curseforge website

Because I've never had any trouble with it until now and nothing is able to update nor install

For example, pixelmon, download the modpack from the website, then just copy paste all the mods into a custom profile mod folder

I've tried downloading from the site and I haven't had much luck but that doesn't mean I'm not doing that part wrong tbf

Hey, I'm having probles with downloads speed, but I already tried everything, reinstalled curse forge, restarting my pc. But it is taking hours to do anything. Even when I downloaded a pack from the site and imported it into curseforge, it still takes hours to download, and in the end it doesn't finish and gives me the error hhhpcliet.timeout
I changed my DNS, flushed it and restarted my network router, it still taking hours to download, is there another solution?
