If you have already created a modpack project on the CF site AND its been approved. All you need to do is export the new updated from the CF app and upload the new file to the site. Once its apporved, users can update in their apps to the new version

Addons are for Bedrock Edition, you can't use mods on bedrock.
Java Edition and Bedrock/Windows Edition are bundled now.

Hi there, My modpack update was rejected due to one of the mods being a hosted project.
It also stated that it should be referenced by the manifest.json.
Im not sure how I fix that, tis the first time I have come across this one

Here is what you should do:

Remove any mods listed in the error message from the profile you exported. Then reinstall them with the CurseForge app. DO NOT drag and drop files from the site.

Export the profile again, open the new zip that was just made. Check for the
overrides/modsfolder. If you still see any mods in that folder do the step above again for each mod. -
Upload the zip once complete and no more mods show in the
overrides/modsfolder.

Hi, I want to add server files to my pack on curseforge in my ci pipeline. Currently to make the client zip I use the manifest. From everything i've read online it seems that this aproach does not work for server files? It really looks like I need to download all the mods, pack them up then upload that? I'm really hoping i'm misunderstanding something here.

Serverpacks are special files uploaded alongside an existing project file. If the main file is rejected the server pack is also rejected.
*In order to upload a server pack you must have a pre-uploaded export file
- Make the server pack by zipping up the required files by selecting the required folders & files. It should include the config and mod folders at a minimum, plus anything else you specifically required to run the server. Start/Run/Setup scripts are optional. Don't include modloader files or the minecraft server jar.
- Go to the
Filestab on the project. - Click the name of the file you wish to upload the server pack to. The pack and server should match pack versions.
- Click
Upload Additional File. - Fill out the form.

The same reason a manifest needs to exsist for client applies to server, which is why I came here to ask this question as this makes no sense to me that specifically when it comes to servers we are forced to use jars instead of manifests. Unless they then manifest it on their end that means that curseforge needs to host a mod jar not only once, but once for every server pack that is uploaded to the site. It also means that I'm sending it data that it already has. It also means that validation takes much more work on both sides

You are saying that they download the pack they get the mods. They do, but how that works is the mod manager(prism, atlauncher, cf) reads the manifest file then uses the CF api to download those mods

I see that it is not done though, and so I will have to download each mod from curseforge package them then upload a zip that includes files they already have on their servers. If you have the client pack installed already its not too difficult it's as easy as zipping up the mods folder and configs folder at minimum manually from the profile

I understand it is unique to clients, I never said it was not, there were two phases here.
- I saw that servers do not use the manifest system, thought I must be missing something because that seems dumb and went to ask this question
- I see that I did not miss anything. I give the case that this makes no sense.
I don't need a tool to assist in packaging, I already have all the code for that, I just need the part that downloads the mods which already exsist in a few solutions i've found online. This is not my issue. The issues are
- On my end it means that every change to the modpack, every commit, the automated system, instead of telling cf what mods to include (the manifest solution) which takes a second and a half and does not cost any of the sides any bandwidth or time. Will have to use the manifest, like what you call a mod manager and download each of those mods, this costs curseforge money, it costs me time, not a lot, but in both cases it's for no reason. In my case the time just means that my cf users will recieve their updates with a slight delay, not the end of the world which is why this is what i will end up doing as i've stated multiple times.
- On curseforges end they, instead of hosting "great-mod.jar-v1.2" in one place, and serving it to anyone downloading the mod or a modpack that includes it on demand, costing them only the size of the mod in storage costs, they now need to host that, along with an extra jar of the exact same contents for each person who uploads a server pack. It also costs them processing power and networking costs.

whats the difference between overwold and standalone download?
overwolf is a app that will host others app, like Curseforge.
The standalone version don't need overwolf to work.
so do i need overwolf?
and if I recall rightly standalone supports 4 games as opposed to the overwolf version that supports more

Just note exports from the cf app are for the clients, they arent server pack files

Try temp diabling malwarebytes. Seems to be an issue between CF and malwarebytes atm. Has been brought up to CF
hmm ok. so i removed it from the pack, exported it, reimported it into CF launcher and the same error came up. also made sure the file wasnt marked as "read only"

Are you creating this zip using the CF apps export feature?
As when you use that feature all mods that are from the CF site get put into a manifest file, which the CF app or other apps that support cf exports read to know what mods to download. That way devs still get downloads towards their mods.
Mods not from CF or that arent on the 3rd-party list get put into the overrides/mods folder. Optifine is not on cf, nor the 3rd party list. And cannot be uploaded to the cf site as per the OF devs wishes.
In short, the zip is set up correctly

I made a local server on my computer, but from what I've found on google that may not be what I need to create a serverpack to upload to CF? Does anyone have any information on how to do this properly? Thanks a million!

I see IPv6 is enabled, which can mess since the launcher is not made to support this protocol correctly, and can especially cause problems when the launcher need to download things.
Should try to close the launcher & app and disable IPv6 just the time to try without.

Lan and Modded MC has never worked all that well, as Minecraft's LAN was really only built to support Vanilla. Modded introduces a lot more files that may need to be synced per player, this can be taxing on a lan connection, due to the host needing to work double time (or more depending on player count)
Easiest fix: make a local server and join it !mc-installserver OR rent/find a server online to join.

- Check if the modpack has a server pack, if it does: use that and skip below.
- Go to the Forge website http://files.minecraftforge.net/ and download the Installer for the forge version the pack is using.
- Run the installer and choose
Install server. Do not install to your desktop. Also do not install inside a OneDrive folder. - Run the server using the forge.jar. A file called
eula.txtwill be generated. Open it and changeeula=falsetoeula=true - From the Client; Copy the
modsfolder,configfolder, and any other folders needed for the pack to work into the server folder. If the modpack has a server pack, use this instead! - Run the server again.
- Port forward your machine if needed. (Google it)

I've been having a problem that, whenever I play minecraft, it will mute all sound on my computer (Minecraft, browser sound, etc...), leaving only the narrator. I've looked up how to fix it, and I've tried a couple things, but it hasn't worked. Any ideas on how to fix it? (Note, it only breaks after joining a world, the world creation screen has all the sounds)
Alright so turns out he hadnt run the vanilla of this version before, so i had him install and run the vanilla version and it seems to have fixed it

I keep trying to open curseforge on my minecraft launcher but for some odd reason it keeps redirecting me into the old minecraft launcher and giving me java runtime errors

No. Steam launch options are not java arguments
I'd imagine though that linux is smart enough to use the correct gpu. Is it not doing so?
Not sure yet. All I know is all my Steam games wanna run off the APU instead of the GPU. So I've been using the same command on everything to ensure proper hardware is being used.

When I was making an server with my own mods I was sending him every single mod and he added it in curseforge to an own made modpack and then it worked maybe try this? Send him every mod in discord and normaly it should work fine
I think ther will be an easier way but for me it worked😅 because I can't take it on an USB port and give this port to him (he lived 100miles away)
When he is close to you put your modpak to an USB drive and give it to him and kopie the drive in an self-made Modpak

If there's no red banner on your project page, it could be approved, and if the files are approved, and not marked as alpha, and the project isn't experimental.

Projects are moderated First in, First out. If you submit late in the work day, it will likely get left until the next day!
New Projects or anything flagged for manual review: 1-3 Working Days
Updates to approved projects not needing manual approval: 1 Hour
-If your file has been "Under Review" for more than an hour, then it is at manual review!

Does anyone happen to have an update on the Scanning For Malware issue? Seems the only way to get projects to go through nowadays is to submit the file, and then wait 3-5 days to verify scanning for malware is stuck, and then submit a ticket so whoever does tickets can force the modpack to go through.
Might be a few stuck files here and there. Havent seen many users / devs bring it up.

Hello everyone, hope I don't bother!
I'm having a slight issue with the Curseforge Standalone App, I'm checking in just in case I can get it sorted without sending a ticket
Since the last update, my curseforge app has been going sluggishly slow (Using the scroll function of any menu has me buffer for a good 5-10 seconds for Every entry, the on hover animations take a whole 2-3 seconds to even render and loading times are significantly lengthened, to the point of unusability)
To skip some time, here's some info you might need
- Yes, Curseforge is the only app that does this. Furthermore, games launched From Curseforge run just fine
- Any portion of the app is affected. The slowest part seems to be App loading, but I couldn't be sure, considering how slow Everything is
- My pc is not slowing down as the app goes! Actually, looking at it from the Task Manager, there could be a lot of resources it could be using, but isn't (I'm below 50% everything, CPU, GPU and such). One more thing to note from the Task Manager is that under the drop down menu there are a total of 7 processes under Curseforge, of which 5 are dubbed "Curseforge" (the other two are the window host and the network agent)
- I am on Windows 10
I've already made a dump of the logs, but I don't know if it hold private information and by proxy can't post it here so I'm keeping it to myself for now

You disabled ipv6 on the network adaptor your connected too right?
Its also just after holidays, there could be a bit of backlog
The steps for ipv6 show the ethernet adaptor, but if your on wifi you need to select the wifi adaptor.
