I downloaded this same modpack yesterday but I downloaded newer version which is 1.8.5, and I need 1.8.0 since aternos only has 1.8.0 and it took me around 4 hours yesterday and probably the same for today, I have no idea why this is this slow. I have a fast ssd as well

I made a custom modpack for 1.20.1, and created a server for Forge 1.20.1 (I already have the port forwarding done, that shouldn't be the issue)
I direct connected via my IP and it works fine for me becuase I am on the local network.
However, when I give the modpack to my friend, they time out upon trying to join.
The multiplayer tab ingame also displays it as a LAN world below the server
I looked through the config and everything seems fine

Hey everyone, I used to have the curse forge app on my computer then i removed it a few years ago, i reinstalled it and it will not work. When i try to make a new modpack, or download one, it fails with the "forge modloader installation failed error". when i try to fix that by repairing the installation it gives me this error " Failed to repair installation: Access to the path is denied". i have tried deleting and reinstalling the app multiple times and i received the same error. if anyone has fixed this error before please let me know. I am using macOS 13.6.1

Hello, so I have been having issues with forge-based modpacks, as they all crash with error code 1, but none of my fabric modpacks create the same issue. The forge modpacks work fine on other computers, and I just reinstalled minecraft and deleted the old minecraft folder, so I have no idea why forge modpacks won't load on this computer.

essential does not work well with modded minecraft. multiplayer for modded is purposely coded to use regular dedicated server instances. you can host one on your same computer as long as it's got enough ram/cpu to spare

Hey there! I realized right before I was about to make a reddit post that the Discord was better for support so I'll copy and paste what I wrote:

I ran out of space on my main drive, which was originally where all of my CurseForge mod files were, so I changed the modding folder on Minecraft through the CurseForge app settings and suddenly all of my mods disappeared. I checked the original CurseForge files and they seemed to be completely wiped of all the mods and/or instances I previously had. I've been scouring my files trying to find where they may have gone but no luck. I can't seem to find any fix or mention of this issue anywhere through Google. The strangest thing is that if the files were deleted my memory should've cleared up, but it's the exact same before and after moving the modding folder. Is there any fix or at least a possible explanation for this?

My friend keeps getting decrpytion operation failed even after like restarting internet, getting rid of vpn, disabling virus/firewall, reinstalling curseforge, using a different connection, restarting pc, restarting curseforge app, we tried everything but it's not even working for my friend. They can't even download any other modpack as it occurs to keep going and we've been trying to fix it for hours, this shit is so annoying. here's the logs if anyone is curious, I don't know what the problem is, I tried to make them download the modpack from the site and importing it and they're still getting issues. even after doing like timeout and webclient errors, we tried those too but even though their internet is just fine and i can perfectly hear them with perfect wifi when they're installing, this is so weird.

The pixelmon mod itself is a very large mod with many sub files. Wifi can be unstable/slow for multi-file installs which is what installing minecraft packs is.

Thing with wifi is it has many more variables it has to deal with to send files to your pc from your router. vs a cable which doesnt have to worry what your walls are made of or how far you are from your router....

Plus if you have other people using your internet atm, they will also affect your install on wifi.

hi! i use curseforge to play on aternos servers with my friends. earlier today , i was unable to join the server (modded server) i had all the correct mods 100% and i even compared them with my friends and had a ✔ on the minecraft server area. so i decided to turn the server into cracked, then join it again. apparently, it worked.

so i made a new vanilla server without forge, and that one also worked. clearly forge is the issue but idk how to fix it.

the error message i get while joining iwth real minecraft is:

The reason you were able to join when the server was in offline mode, was because the server made no attempt to verify you against the player database

If it’s saying authentication servers are unreachable then that’s probably your network or on Mojang’s end

hey all! how does one get started in this channel troubleshooting their issues

i guess i can start with a description of the problem

basically, i wanted to create a new mod profile for minecraft, however several apps and processes have been telling me i'm lacking space on my C drive, and when i found out i couldn't make new mod profiles due to the lack of disk space, i cleared a ton of space up and there is now plenty of space on my C drive. I read i could also move my mod profiles to another drive which i did. (onto a 2TB SSD which is my D drive) and when that didn't work i cleared all of the files in my %temp% but it still will not let me create a new profile

now, to be fair, there were still some files in temp that my computer couldn't delete (mainly from adobe, claiming some form of adobe software was open when i made sure anything adobe related was not, and some other misc files that needed admin permission that wouldn't delete even after i gave it admin permission to delete the files) but i still doubt it's due to the space in either my disk or temp

but the problem was happening in both places

there is nothing in C:\Users\user\curseforge\minecraft anymore

Hello, I currently have three issues with my curse forge client for minecraft :

• On a modpack, when I search to install mods, If I click on a mod author, the filter of that mod author is added but I'm no longer editing any modpack (all buttons are "install")
• I would like to disable the auto search feature that try to search at each character I write in the search bar
• I didn't found any way to uninstall a mod from search (need to search it in the long list of mods (and a double click is dangerous here)

Should also note, 1.20.4 is still too new. Optfine does not have a working version for Forge yet. 1.20.4 is also very unstable. Better off sticking to 1.20.1 for now

whenever I try to download a modpack with a music altering mod (such as medieval music) the download stops right at the music mod and it says "The decryption failed, see inner expection"
so far I've tried turning my computer off and on turning the wi-fi off and on closing every other app that was using wi-fi deleting and re-downloading curseforge, minecraft and java none of it worked the issue only happens with music mods it happened in another music mod that was in dawncraft modpack too (I forgot the name of it)
