2. Name it, select the required Minecraft version, select the modloader & modloader version (usually the highest number), click Create.
3. Click the profile icon.
4. Click Add More Content
5. Search and install the desired mods.

I should note as well, 1.19.4 was also an inbetween version for mc. So its not actually all that stable. 1.19.2 is the stable version for the 1.19.x series. 1.20.1 for the 1.20.x series.

Hello there! Hate to be a bother, but the internet is failing to provide me with any clear answer to this. I've been using the Curseforge client to run a series of mods on a 1.19.2 version of Minecraft. Everything's been running without a hitch, but I noticed a few of the mods needed to be updated. I updated it and now I've got an error message when I boot up Minecraft.

The version of Forge I'm currently on is 43.2.0, however, one of my mods requires a version of forge that is 43.2.14 or higher. How do I update the version of Forge I'm on? Or did the client accidentally update the mods to versions higher than 1.19.2?

How to set Minecraft to use the correct GPU in Windows

If Minecraft will not start then use the tool linked at the bottom!

1. Start the modpack you wish to fix. If it will not start, then click the in the top right of the app then select Run Vanilla Minecraft. In the launcher that opens, go to the Installations tab and choose New Installation. Choose a name and select the Minecraft version of the modpack you are trying to run (like 1.19.4 or 1.7.10). Once created play it by clicking the green Play button that appears when hovering over it in the list of installations.
2. Press Ctrl + Shift + Esc to open Task Manager
3. Find Minecraft in the list of running programs. It will be called something like Java or OpenJDK Binary. (tip: sort by ram usage by clicking on the Memory tab. Minecraft uses a lot of ram so will be at the top)
4. Right click it and Open File Location
5. Copy the file path from Windows Explorer by clicking into the address bar and pressing Ctrl + C
6. Press and type in GPU, then press Enter to open Graphics Settings
7. Under Graphics performance preference (called Custom options for apps in Win 11) select Desktop App
8. Click Browse
9. Click the address bar and paste in the folder location you copied by pressing Ctrl + V, then press Enter
10. Select the javaw or javaw.exe file from the files in front of you (tip: press J to immediately jump to the files that start with that letter)
11. Once selected, click Add in the bottom right of the window
12. Click the Options button on the newly added option
13. Set it to High performance on the best GPU you have

4. Click the button next to play.
5. Click Export.
6. Select the files that should be included.

Hi there. I hope anyone can help. I've got a problem: when I start any Minecraft Modpack from Curseforge it forces me to log in. When I press log in via microsoft 2 greyscreen minecraft windows popping up and there is nothing loading or anything I can do.
1 week ago I was easily able to play any modpack but now nothing works.

I deinstalled and reinstalled Overwolf + Curseforge
I repaired the modpack / installation
I deinstalled modpack and reinstalled
I logged out and in

Not always, sometime the launcher only start to greyed out when opening the popups, or more rarely only the popup are greyed.

All of the other times people have come in with the gray launcher, it was gray on open, not after pop ups

Not always from what I can tell, 9 people on 10 is greyed when opening the launcher, the last part is only greyed out when login. Although in both cases that can be the Game Ready Driver issue.
That can also be a issue with IPv6, it happens about as often (but more frequently black).

I hope this is the right support. So, I connected accounts prior to me having to reset my computer. Regardless of backup, I thought it said my Curseforge saves the mods I have. you can however copy the content from one computer to another - how that is done differs by the which game we're talking about

all minecraft modpacks / profiles are created with a certain minecraft version (and the kind of modloader the profile is intended to use - for example forge MC 1.19.2 or fabric MC 1.20.1).

people who publish modpacks don't just only publish one file for their modpack and call it a day. they make changes and improvements and publish new versions - that is where that's coming from. modpacks almost always stay using the same minecraft / modloader and changes usually warrant calling it a different pack like: Awesome Modpack 2: Reloaded (Again)

As far as I can tell, the shortcut is not functioning. Following the shortcut to appdata/local, it appears that the folder for curseforge is still there but it is now empty. My minecraft forge installations are safe but curseforge is not on my pc anymore. In appdata/roaming, there is a curseforge folder with stuff still in it.

I checked windows defender for anything about it but there are no mentions of curseforge being removed or flagged as malware or anything like that.

Why is markdown for project descriptions so scuffed on CF? Is there some trick to it? My markdown looks fine on everything but CF just doesn't know how to handle things like lists etc.

How to upload a server pack

1. Make the server pack by zipping up the required files by selecting the required folders & files. It should include the config and mod folders at a minimum, plus anything else you specifically required to run the server. Start/Run/Setup scripts are optional. Don't include modloader files or the minecraft server jar.
2. Go to the Files tab on the project.
3. Click the name of the file you wish to upload the server pack to. The pack and server should match pack versions.
4. Click Upload Additional File.
5. Fill out the form.

Curseforge added tags that mod authors can put on their files which show up in the app now, however that's not a guarantee and not all mods authors have set their files to have that tag. There's no one surefire way to know. Some server creating programs do exist that try to help filter them in server packs - off of curated lists

Got a question. I've never really used mods, especially on CurseForge, and I am slightly confused. For the profiles, I installed modpacks on it. I have multiple profiles, will it use all profiles when I play or only one profile at a time? Because I installed Appleskin, then when I tried to install the Cooking for Blockheads, I had to make a separate profile because apparently it wouldn't go to the previous profile.

Hey guys, I'm having an issue where the automatic packaging isn't working, not pulling content from GitHub releases into curseforge. When I look in the GitHub webhook logs they show that the webhook is firing, but nothing's coming across to Curseforge.

do this to reset your core game files (like the vanilla launcher) - the old version of which is what the CF app uses - and it's fine - it launches the same game.

log in with your microsoft account, and make sure the java minecraft tab is clicked when at that stage

How to **manually** install a server - **On your own PC**

1. Check if the modpack has a server pack, if it does: use that and skip below.
2. Go to the Forge website http://files.minecraftforge.net/ and download the Installer for the forge version the pack is using.
3. Run the installer and choose Install server. Do not install to your desktop. Also do not install inside a OneDrive folder.
4. Run the server using the forge.jar. A file called eula.txt will be generated. Open it and change eula=false to eula=true
5. From the Client; Copy the mods folder, config folder, and any other folders needed for the pack to work into the server folder. If the modpack has a server pack, use this instead!
6. Run the server again.
7. Port forward your machine if needed. (Google it)

You could also use this community made tool for installing packs! Instructions are provided on the site.

I have had success joining the server we are renting with no issues. __My friend has the same CurseForge setup as me but when he clicks the orange play button, it says "This app cant run on your PC" and to check with the publisher. __

This is always an issue when first making a server out of mod files. The tags on curseforge for which sided they are - is a new feature and not all mods authors have tagged their files. There is no one way to determine which sided a mod is. There are only halfway measures like the curseforge file tags, reading mod author notes, programs people have made to try and sort them

How to set Minecraft to use the correct GPU in Windows

If Minecraft will not start then use the tool linked at the bottom!

1. Start the modpack you wish to fix. If it will not start, then click the in the top right of the app then select Run Vanilla Minecraft. In the launcher that opens, go to the Installations tab and choose New Installation. Choose a name and select the Minecraft version of the modpack you are trying to run (like 1.19.4 or 1.7.10). Once created play it by clicking the green Play button that appears when hovering over it in the list of installations.
2. Press Ctrl + Shift + Esc to open Task Manager
3. Find Minecraft in the list of running programs. It will be called something like Java or OpenJDK Binary. (tip: sort by ram usage by clicking on the Memory tab. Minecraft uses a lot of ram so will be at the top)
4. Right click it and Open File Location
5. Copy the file path from Windows Explorer by clicking into the address bar and pressing Ctrl + C
6. Press and type in GPU, then press Enter to open Graphics Settings
7. Under Graphics performance preference (called Custom options for apps in Win 11) select Desktop App
8. Click Browse
9. Click the address bar and paste in the folder location you copied by pressing Ctrl + V, then press Enter
10. Select the javaw or javaw.exe file from the files in front of you (tip: press J to immediately jump to the files that start with that letter)
11. Once selected, click Add in the bottom right of the window
12. Click the Options button on the newly added option
13. Set it to High performance on the best GPU you have

Hi, gn. I was playing the modpack "Fabulously optimized minecraft" for 1.20.2 for about 2 hours. I saved and quit the game normally, but when I got back home and turned my notebook back on it seemed curseforge had uninstalled itself, since Windows was saying it seemed to "no longer exist". I have no antiviruses downloaded since it's a new notebook I got this week.
