I being triying to download any modpack since yesterday I already reboot the pc, router, change IP, alredy did a Reparation but no luck.
Some times I got stuck in the mod 12 others 120 other 32 seams kind of random, but I cant seams to be able to fully download any decent (several mods) modpack

Changing Java version for installing Forge

2. Open CurseForge and click the in the bottom left corner.
3. Go to the Minecraft tab and scroll down to "Java version used for installing Forge modloader"
4. Click Select
5. In the file explorer window that opens, click on This PC, then Windows (C:)
6. Open the Program Files folder, then the Java folder, then the jdk-17.0.3.1 folder, then the bin folder.

hey I still have my modpack pending for having mc in the name.., yet theres still several other packs unaffected.

In my ticket i got told;

Due to the high number of projects containing "mc" in their title, we no longer approve this term; please pick a name for your project that does not contain "mc".

but it wasnt a new pack, nor did i make any changes... it just got taken down out of the blue. It sucks bc i have been working on a massive update, but now cant release until this gets resolved.. can any staff in here help or is it seperate from the site team?

The modpack is basically going for a "Vanilla++" kind of feel, nearly all the mods are vanilla+ bar some more over the top ones like Cataclysm I've included, adds plenty of overhauls, tweaks, new world generation in all the dimensions, several new dimensions, etc

I've been working on it a while and I've got it ironed out to a meticulously picked out amount of 260 mods exactly

Well, I guess V++ to me is just, lots of things that fit into the feel and balance of the base game, and a few over the top things sprinkled on top just for fun

The most over the top things in the pack are probably just Cataclysm, The Aether and Amethyst Tools Mod, maybe Paxels

I have Red Power and Xannosz's Better Minecarts, which go a little out of the Vanilla feel I suppose but not enough to majorly change anything

I am trying to open a new project on CurseForge but every time I try to do that, I get an Internal Server Error. I searched on the discord and a couple of people have had the issue, but I can see no advice or solution being given. What should I do about this? The error persists for a while now.

Edit: To answer my own question, since people on here don't even respond at all: The culprit was a .webp project image. That apparently causes the error. Converted it to .jpg and successfully created the project.

Where and how to install the CurseForge app

This will save you many headaches, as modding the vanilla launcher can have many issues.

The CF app also stops minecraft version mixing issues. as each profile is saved in its own folder

The vanilla launcher is only really good for what it was built for, running vanilla

How to install mods in the CurseForge app

1. Click + Create Custom Profile
2. Name it, select the required Minecraft version, select the modloader & modloader version (usually the highest number), click Create.
3. Click the profile icon.
4. Click Add More Content
5. Search and install the desired mods.
6. Start the game!

How to install mods that are not on the CurseForge app

1. Right click the profile picture or Open the profile and click the Icon next to the play button.
2. Click Open Folder.
3. Drag the mod(s) into the mods folder. (Note: Some mods will require others, to run. Make sure to read the instructions for the mod!)
4. Start the game!

Something to keep in mind for Minecraft and Ram

MC handles ram differently then other games. Too little can have issues, but same goes for too much. As mc will literally try to use all the ram you give it and try to shove it all through 1 cpu core.

Instead of speeding up the game, it slows down the cpus processing by trying to process all the ram, used or unused.

This is not overly healthy for your CPU and RAM, as it would be the same as running a stress test, but on 1 cpu core...

I don't know if this is the correct channel, but I am trying to make a modded server with my own custom pack and i get an http connection error saying "no route to host" when i am starting the server and was wondering if anyone could help me with that :) I have tried runnig a vanilla server on it and I am able to connect to it, but as soon as I spin up any kinds of modded server, i get the HTTP connection error in the console during startup of the minecraft server. I tried to connect to it anyways and i just got a message saying "failed to authenticate". any ideas on what it could be? I can send the logs if someone want's as well. the server is running Ubuntu 22.04.3 LTS

How to set Minecraft to use the correct GPU in Windows

If Minecraft will not start then use the tool linked at the bottom!

1. Start the modpack you wish to fix. If it will not start, then click the in the top right of the app then select Run Vanilla Minecraft. In the launcher that opens, go to the Installations tab and choose New Installation. Choose a name and select the Minecraft version of the modpack you are trying to run (like 1.19.4 or 1.7.10). Once created play it by clicking the green Play button that appears when hovering over it in the list of installations.
2. Press Ctrl + Shift + Esc to open Task Manager
3. Find Minecraft in the list of running programs. It will be called something like Java or OpenJDK Binary. (tip: sort by ram usage by clicking on the Memory tab. Minecraft uses a lot of ram so will be at the top)
4. Right click it and Open File Location
5. Copy the file path from Windows Explorer by clicking into the address bar and pressing Ctrl + C
6. Press and type in GPU, then press Enter to open Graphics Settings
7. Under Graphics performance preference (called Custom options for apps in Win 11) select Desktop App
8. Click Browse
9. Click the address bar and paste in the folder location you copied by pressing Ctrl + V, then press Enter
10. Select the javaw or javaw.exe file from the files in front of you (tip: press J to immediately jump to the files that start with that letter)
11. Once selected, click Add in the bottom right of the window
12. Click the Options button on the newly added option
13. Set it to High performance on the best GPU you have

The mouse buttons have always had some issues with mc. Part of it is drivers are slightly different vs a keyboards.

Also doesnt help that not all mice behave the same. Or have the same buttons mapped internally. So say you have one mouse, get a new one but the key is still mapped. Some programs just throw a hissyfit cuz they think something is corrupted

Installing Optifine with modpacks on Curseforge:

1. Right click the modpack icon, select Open Folder.
2. Put the Optifine.jar into the mods folder.
3. Now start the modpack.

Say I have made a custom profile to build a modpack and export the mod list to send to my friends. If I now want to add mods to the modpack, what is the easiest way to have them get those mods? They could download them manually since its only a few at a time, but I'd like to avoid any situation where they accidentally download a different version or smth. I'm trying to keep in mind that some of them don't really understand what they're doing. Ideally, there'd be a native way to have them update the old profile with the new exported mod list, but I don't see how to do that if possible. Any advice?

Points can sometimes not update right away, your still getting em tho. When the system catches up with itself youll see an increase for the missing day(s)

May notice more near the ends of months or busier months if many devs are requesting payouts. May take time for the ui to update

Hey, been trying to play forge modpacks and it crashes minecraft stating error code 1. It happens on all versions attempted 1.12.2, 1.16.5, 1,19,2 and 1,20,2. Anyone come across this issue before? Base MC runs no problems

How to install modpacks with the search features

1. Open the Minecraft section of the app.
2. Click the top search bar where it says Search for modpacks OR Click the Browse Modpacks Tab.
3. Find the Modpack you want to install and click install on it.
4. Wait for the CurseForge app to download and unpack all the required files.
5. Once finished, click Play!

How to install modpacks from an Export (Custom/Private/Site downloaded Modpack zip)

1. Get the CurseForge app if you don't have it, use !download for a link.
2. Get the exported modpack from CurseForge or someone else, !mc-packshare explains how to make them.
3. Open the Minecraft section of the app.
4. Click Create Custom Profile
5. Click the Import option.
6. Find the file you just downloaded in step 2 and select it.
7. CurseForge app will now attempt to download and unpack the modpack. If it fails, try steps 4-6 again.
8. Once finished, click Play!
