How to set Minecraft to use the correct GPU in Windows

If Minecraft will not start then use the tool linked at the bottom!

1. Start the modpack you wish to fix. If it will not start, then click the in the top right of the app then select Run Vanilla Minecraft. In the launcher that opens, go to the Installations tab and choose New Installation. Choose a name and select the Minecraft version of the modpack you are trying to run (like 1.19.4 or 1.7.10). Once created play it by clicking the green Play button that appears when hovering over it in the list of installations.
2. Press Ctrl + Shift + Esc to open Task Manager
3. Find Minecraft in the list of running programs. It will be called something like Java or OpenJDK Binary. (tip: sort by ram usage by clicking on the Memory tab. Minecraft uses a lot of ram so will be at the top)
4. Right click it and Open File Location
5. Copy the file path from Windows Explorer by clicking into the address bar and pressing Ctrl + C
6. Press and type in GPU, then press Enter to open Graphics Settings
7. Under Graphics performance preference (called Custom options for apps in Win 11) select Desktop App
8. Click Browse
9. Click the address bar and paste in the folder location you copied by pressing Ctrl + V, then press Enter
10. Select the javaw or javaw.exe file from the files in front of you (tip: press J to immediately jump to the files that start with that letter)
11. Once selected, click Add in the bottom right of the window
12. Click the Options button on the newly added option
13. Set it to High performance on the best GPU you have

Okay so I got I kept getting game exceptions for TheSims4 because of OneDrive. So I move my Electronics Arts folder to my local HardDrive and stopped it from syncing my documents. That being said, everytime I download Mods from CursedForge it makes a new EA folder in my Public Files and I was told I can’t change the install path of Sims4 mods but my game only recognizes mods that are loaded into the EA folder that’s in my Documents.

I’ve noticed that, while not throwing up an error on download, if I try to install a pre-downloaded modpack, it’ll throw out an “invalid file” message

Doesn’t matter what modpack zip I use, tried a couple at this point.

Avoid installing Minecraft files in the following locations

These locations have been known to cause issues and you should avoid installing any Minecraft files in them:

• .minecraft folder
• OneDrive folders
• Desktop folder
• iCloud enabled folders
• Any other cloud saved folder
• Folders with non-English characters in them

If you are still using an old path from Twitch app where the files are inside a Twitch folder, make a new folder. These old installs cause many problems due to all the changes that have been made.

You must change your Minecraft Modding Path if you are using one of these options
Use !mc-path to get instructions on how to change it.

Two ways to share a modpack you made with others

1. Click the Icon for the modpack.
2. Click the button next to play.
3. Click Export.
4. Select the files that should be included.
5. Send the zip to the people that want it! They can follow the instructions in !mc-installpack to install the pack.

:small_orange_diamond: Upload to Curseforge - For Public Release to Everyone

This option will make your pack public to EVERYONE, it comes with extra requirements and will take some effort to set up.

1. Go to create a new project
2. Fill out the information with a proper description of the pack. This should allow anyone to understand what the pack is.
3. Click the Icon for the modpack in the CurseForge app.
4. Click the button next to play.
5. Click Export.
6. Select the files that should be included.
7. Open your Project that you made on the CurseForge site and Upload the file you just made.
8. Wait for Moderation & Sync so it can show up in the client! (See !sync for limitations and !status to learn about the moderation process and how long it will take to approve/decline)

So the code is for running out of ram for vanilla, however as soon as you add mods that code can become screwy as a faulty mod can cause a memory leak. Quesiton just is what mod.

And the pack has no issues if you in this case "increase" the lowest ram? in this case its technically decreasing.

How to set Minecraft to use the correct GPU in Windows

If Minecraft will not start then use the tool linked at the bottom!

1. Start the modpack you wish to fix. If it will not start, then click the in the top right of the app then select Run Vanilla Minecraft. In the launcher that opens, go to the Installations tab and choose New Installation. Choose a name and select the Minecraft version of the modpack you are trying to run (like 1.19.4 or 1.7.10). Once created play it by clicking the green Play button that appears when hovering over it in the list of installations.
2. Press Ctrl + Shift + Esc to open Task Manager
3. Find Minecraft in the list of running programs. It will be called something like Java or OpenJDK Binary. (tip: sort by ram usage by clicking on the Memory tab. Minecraft uses a lot of ram so will be at the top)
4. Right click it and Open File Location
5. Copy the file path from Windows Explorer by clicking into the address bar and pressing Ctrl + C

1. Click the Create logs zip in the menu.
2. Drag and drop the zip file created to this channel.
3. Wait for someone to look at it so they can help you.

i hotfixed my modpack and both radium and complementary installed just fine on the previous hotfix but for whatever reason the new update i made broke them on curseforge and only curseforge install

hi, I was trying to make a server pack for me and my friends but ive come to a problem. the problem is when ever i get to opening Minecraft I end up with error code: 1 ive tried to repair, update drivers, uninstall and reinstall Minecraft and curseforge but no matter what i do it keeps giving me an error code. my friend can get in but i cant i have gotten in once which was before the problem started but the problem seems to not be exclusive to a single mod pack i belive it is just with my client side curseforge

Ok so got an error just not the same one. One I got is similar to a user that came in this morning. Recommend opening a ticket, I will add your log as well as mine to the report I submitted earlier
