I'm going to lose my mind. Is there any reason that CF just absolutely refuses to update modpacks for me?

I've literally done every small, large, and completely stupid thing I can think of, and nothing matters I get the same "An error occured while executing Forge install command. Exit code: 1"

I just exported a custom modpack I made and imported back to see if it is working but when I refreshed the mods, an Xray resource pack I didn't add popped up. It doesn't exist in resourcepacks folder either. What is causing this?

I only added BetterVanilla, Default Dark, Low On Fire and Rotating Burning Skull. Naturalist Old Models probably comes with Naturalist mod I added.

hey! so minecraft works for me on vanilla, but when using curse forge it seems to use a diffrent launcher for minecraft when i only have one installed. but it never lets me load up modded minecraft ever since i factory reset my computer. ive tried everything under the sun to fix it. it seems to possibly be a java issue but i have downloaded a bunch of diffrent versions and non work

the java installed to your computer doesn't matter - the app handles it's own. the vanilla launcher you use for regularly installed minecraft doens't matter either - the app handles it's own.

So I'm running into an interesting error. I'm still new to computer gaming so bare with me here. When I go to click play after downloading a resource pack, or mod it will direct me to minecraft launcher saying that I don't own Java & Bedrock edition. However, when I use the launcher that I already have installed on the computer (via the start menu) I can load Java just fine, and oddly enough the resource packs that I do have do not show up. I have even tried moving them around to new folder locations and have still had no luck.

Hey guys, I emailed CurseForge Support about this and they couldn’t seem to help me and they told me to join this discord to deal with my issue, but my issue seems to be;

I was making a mod pack on curse-forge that got approved. I recently tried playing it myself but whenever I try playing it and click singleplayer the mod pack crashes randomly and says something is incompatible for almost anything like my citadel is incompatible when I need citadel for a mod pack named "Alex's Mobs" I even tried reinstalling all the mod packs and nothing seems to change. Then when I remove majority of the modpacks as a whole it says that I'm getting an Exit Code: -1 and I also tried copying a mod pack from someone else as a test for myself to see if it was the mods I picked, But it still kept crashing. I can't seem to find a solution to this issue. My friend also tried to see if their were any mods that were incompatible but there didn’t seem to be any since it said this in the screenshot below;

How to upload a server pack

Serverpacks are special files uploaded alongside an existing project file. If the main file is rejected the server pack is also rejected.

*In order to upload a server pack you must have a pre-uploaded export file

1. Make the server pack by zipping up the required files by selecting the required folders & files. It should include the config and mod folders at a minimum, plus anything else you specifically required to run the server. Start/Run/Setup scripts are optional. Don't include modloader files or the minecraft server jar.
2. Go to the Files tab on the project.
3. Click the name of the file you wish to upload the server pack to. The pack and server should match pack versions.
4. Click Upload Additional File.
5. Fill out the form.

How to set Minecraft to use the correct GPU in Windows

If Minecraft will not start then use the tool linked at the bottom!

1. Open Task Manager while Minecraft is running (Press Ctrl + Shift + Esc to open Task Manager)
2. Find minecraft in that list. It will be called something like "Java" or "OpenJDK Binary". (tip: sort by ram usage by clicking on the "Memory" tab. Minecraft uses a lot of ram so will be at the top)
3. Right click it and Open File Location
4. Copy the file path from Windows Explorer by clicking into the address bar and pressing Ctrl + C
5. Press and type in GPU, then press Enter to open Graphics Settings
6. Under Graphics performance preference select Desktop App
7. Click Browse
8. Click the address bar and paste in the folder location you copied by pressing Ctrl + V, then press Enter

How to **manually** install a server - **On your own PC**

1. Check if the modpack has a server pack, if it does: use that and skip below.
2. Go to the Forge website http://files.minecraftforge.net/ and download the Installer for the forge version the pack is using.
3. Run the installer and choose Install server. Do not install to your desktop. Also do not install inside a OneDrive folder.
4. Run the server using the forge.jar. A file called eula.txt will be generated. Open it and change eula=false to eula=true
5. From the Client; Copy the mods folder, config folder, and any other folders needed for the pack to work into the server folder. If the modpack has a server pack, use this instead!
6. Run the server again.
7. Port forward your machine if needed. (Google it)

hi im trying to start a modpack in 1.12.2 forge with a few mods but when i press play on the curseforge app the minecraft launcher pops up i press play there too and then the launcher loads disappear and nothing happens from there, i mean minecraft never shows up but i dont get any error nor logs, i tried to wait a lot like 30 minutes to see if it was just taking a lot of time to load but nothing (the modpacks has like 60 mods so it's not even that heavy)

kotlin is a different type of code to write mods in, and needs a special mod to load it. the name of that mod differs between versions and loaders, but i know the 1.12 forge one is called forgelin

Addons are for Bedrock Edition, you can't use mods on bedrock.

Java Edition and Bedrock/Windows Edition are bundled now.

can someone help, last week i downloaded dawncraft, a few days later i heard there was a virus in some mods and that one of the infected mods was in dawncraft, note i hadnt played dawncraft yet. i downloaded the detector tool and it detected no virus and i downloaded the jar detector tool as well and it found no infected files, are my mods safe to use or do i need to delete them

CF will continue to use the Multiplatform version of the launcher instead of the MS Store version for the foreseeable future as far as I am aware.
If the new logo is included in an update to that branch of the launcher then CF will use it.

i've restarted my pc to no avail, and i dont think this has anything to do with minecraft... mainly because i cannot get to the point of running minecraft before curseforge throws an error.

and right now, my current explanation is that the forge versions of minecraft 1.17.1 have been cursed by an evil wizard to make specifically my computer unable to run them

I am trying to setup a curse forge self hosted server for the first time and I've got the server running but nobody can connect to it because it says its incompatible even though the client and server versions of curseforge are the same (1.19.2). I'm trying to run the modpack "BIGCHADSGUYS PLUS" on the server as well but I don't know how to properly set that part either. How to set Minecraft to use the correct GPU in Windows

If Minecraft will not start then use the tool linked at the bottom!

1. Open Task Manager while Minecraft is running (Press Ctrl + Shift + Esc to open Task Manager)
2. Find minecraft in that list. It will be called something like "Java" or "OpenJDK Binary". (tip: sort by ram usage by clicking on the "Memory" tab. Minecraft uses a lot of ram so will be at the top)
3. Right click it and Open File Location
4. Copy the file path from Windows Explorer by clicking into the address bar and pressing Ctrl + C
5. Press and type in GPU, then press Enter to open Graphics Settings
6. Under Graphics performance preference select Desktop App
7. Click Browse
8. Click the address bar and paste in the folder location you copied by pressing Ctrl + V, then press Enter
9. Select the javaw or javaw.exe file from the files in front of you (tip: press J to immediately jump to the files that start with that letter)
10. Once selected, click Add in the bottom right of the window
11. Click the Options button on the newly added option
12. Set it to High performance on the best GPU you have
