I'm having troubles w/ Forge stuff. can someone help please.

I am just having issues booting up cobblemon. I downloaded Cobblemon on CurseForge launcher yesterday and it would give me an Exit Code: 1 error. So I deleted it and tried to do it through the minecraft launcher. Everytime I boot up Forge, it gives me a crash and says Exit code: 1. I don't have any mods in my mods folder either. I clean uninstalled minecraft, any forge/CurseForge files, as well as all java stuff from my files, then re-downloaded everything, but it still doesn't work. I would love any assistance 🙂

Have you tried using discord search to see what's fixed it for others? It's a common issue and I know solutions have been posted.

I can't believe this year old (yes I turned pings off) solution fixed my issue. Somehow there must've been a read-only file in my profile. I don't know how, I just copied an existing profile to make it? And why was I able to rename the profile if there was a read-only file? So many questions, but all of them probably get answered by "Windows is stupid"

When I load sf4 usually, it stops loading when it gets to crafttweaker2 near the end, I've narrowed it down to a memory problem but other than that, I haven't figured out anything, reinstalling it does nothing, reinstalling crafttweaker2 does nothing, I've done repair installation and just repairing the mod pack, adjusting my memory allocated then repairing installation seems like the only thing that has a chance of working, but it's still very random, it's been a problem since like July of last year, and when it does open, the second I close it, it goes back to not opening, I need a new permanent fix.

Curious why you're asking this on the curseforge discord if you're just installing mods to .minecraft.
To still answer the question (even though you should honestly just #tryitandsee), that might work, but it depends on whether there are client-only mods in the pack (and whether the server is smart enough to ignore them).

When I load up MC 1.19.4 using a vanilla instance my MC skin loads fine. However, as soon as I add forge all of a sudden my skin no longer works and defaults to one of the new ones being added in 1.20. How do I fix this?

How to **manually** install a server - **On your own PC**

1. Check if the modpack has a server pack, if it does: use that and skip below.
2. Go to the Forge website http://files.minecraftforge.net/ and download the Installer for the forge version the pack is using.
3. Run the installer and choose Install server. Do not install to your desktop. Also do not install inside a OneDrive folder.
4. Run the server using the forge.jar. A file called eula.txt will be generated. Open it and change eula=false to eula=true
5. From the Client; Copy the mods folder, config folder, and any other folders needed for the pack to work into the server folder. If the modpack has a server pack, use this instead!
6. Run the server again.
7. Port forward your machine if needed. (Google it)
