but when i try to load any mod pack through curseforge, it says there's a load error most likely caused by a corruption

i've updated curseforge, reinstalled a mod, but that didn't work

and just the vanilla minecraft launcher works on it's own and loads up the game both on the current update and the versions the mod packs were to load up on

you can't do that. submitted files must be the format that the project in question requires. a system auto scans them and under certain circumstances require direct human approval during CF operating hours

How to **manually** install a server - **On your own PC**

1. Check if the modpack has a server pack, if it does: use that and skip below.
2. Go to the Forge website http://files.minecraftforge.net/ and download the Installer for the forge version the pack is using.
3. Run the installer and choose Install server. Do not install to your desktop. Also do not install inside a OneDrive folder.
4. Run the server using the forge.jar. A file called eula.txt will be generated. Open it and change eula=false to eula=true
5. From the Client; Copy the mods folder, config folder, and any other folders needed for the pack to work into the server folder. If the modpack has a server pack, use this instead!
6. Run the server again.
7. Port forward your machine if needed. (Google it)

Hey, so, having an odd issue. I just built a new computer. Fresh Windows 11 install. The works. I'm trying to download CurseForge to use with Battle.net games (namely WoW) and it won't allow me to select an install directory. I have a 1TB SSD that I use for Windows and system files and whatnot, but I have a separate drive I've been installing things like Steam, Battle.net, and all games to. I want to put CurseForge there as well. Is that not possible?

I tried getting just CurseForge first. It did the same thing. When I noticed the default file directory also included Overwolf, I figured I'd try to download that first, set it to the drive I want, then install CurseForge. However, as the images show, I got the same result.

And nothing is installed to redownload yet.
I hit the "download" button from the webpage, opened the download link, and this is the installer from that.

So, fixed it. Found another link from an overwolf support page with "Installer Setup" and downloaded that, extracted, then it opened an install launcher that allowed me to select another install location.

Just in case anyone else runs into the same issue.

1. Open the Minecraft section of the app.
2. Click the top search bar where it says Search for modpacks OR Click the Browse Modpacks Tab.
3. Find the Modpack you want to install and click install on it.
4. Wait for the CurseForge app to download and unpack all the required files.
5. Once finished, click Play!===***

How to install modpacks from an Export (Custom/Private/Site downloaded Modpack zip)

1. Get the CurseForge app if you don't have it, use !download for a link.
2. Get the exported modpack from CurseForge or someone else, !mc-packshare explains how to make them.
3. Open the Minecraft section of the app.
4. Click Create Custom Profile
5. Click the Import option.
6. Find the file you just downloaded in step 2 and select it.
7. CurseForge app will now attempt to download and unpack the modpack. If it fails, try steps 4-6 again.
8. Once finished, click Play!

Does anyone know if the inclusion of optifine in a modpack would make it fail publication inspection? I do know that it's stated in curseforge documentation that mods not supported by curseforge would cause an issue in the inspection process and likely have the pack rejected and sent back for further development. I'm currently trying to dev and publish a pack that has shaders and the only mod that I'm finding for my MC and Forge versions is an optifine pre release. If anyone knows of another mod that would add shader support to MC 1.19.2 and forge 43.2.0 that would be supported by curseforge you're help would be greatly appreciated as well.

In Germany there's a company MEMORYXXL which provides a tool for determining the maximum possible RAM and Sped based on the information given on SMBus or BIOS.

How to manually install a server - On your own PC

1. Check if the modpack has a server pack, if it does: use that and skip below.
2. Go to the Forge website http://files.minecraftforge.net/ and download the Installer for the forge version the pack is using.
3. Run the installer and choose Install server. Do not install to your desktop. Also do not install inside a OneDrive folder.
4. Run the server using the forge.jar. A file called eula.txt will be generated. Open it and change eula=false to eula=true
5. From the Client; Copy the mods folder, config folder, and any other folders needed for the pack to work into the server folder. If the modpack has a server pack, use this instead!
6. Run the server again.
7. Port forward your machine if needed. (Google it)

You could also use this community made tool for installing packs! Instructions are provided on the site.

I just found "project-776085" in my addon list. I then deleted it as it seemed like garbage and brought up a strange youtube channel. Now my Elvui is gone. Help please. Wow

Someone attempted to upload elvui to curseforge (it has since been rejected and removed from the site), and the app linked the elvui you had installed to that. When you deleted it, the app deleted elvui because thats the file accossiated with the project.

CF is allocating the amount you are telling it to: Java argument:-Xmx6944m (line 2147), its something else causing the increased memory usage. probably a mod, or whatever task manager program that is reading it incorrectly

Also, if you want to fix your crash, set backed to OFF in flywheel-client.toml

i had my allocations wrong, im hosting a server and playing on the same pc

but like i said, the problem isnt using too much memory

Hello, I downloaded Curseforge yesterday for my sims 4 game but am having a hard time with the app. I'm not sure if I installed incorrectly or if there's anything I need to do to connect them but the app is not loading my mods, even after I removed over half (knowing that I have many) and I have tried a few times but even after 5+ minutes it has been unable to show them.

@rapid nacelle hey, it can take some time for the app to load your installed mods and cc, especially if you have a lot of them.
it's best to have it run in the background for some time and later on check if you can see them
