Need at least 10gb free on the C drive, as the app downloads files as temp then moves em. But I highly recommend you clean up that drive either way. Its bad pc health to have your boot drive fully filled.

You may run into other issues that your os needs that it wont be able to do with a full C drive.

Error/Exit codes are useless. Follow these steps so someone can actually help you.

1. Right-click the modpack profile icon OR click the button in the modpack profile.
2. Click Open Folder.
3. Open the logs folder.
4. Drag and drop the FILE named latest OR debug into discord.

Could be a lot of different things, but the CurseForge logs won't provide that info.

Hey i was wondering if someone could help me? I had recently done a scan in curseforge app on my mac to find all addons folders for World of Warcraft, and after the scan it completely removed all of my add-on folders besides classic and also randomly added a bunch of other folder for different games on my computer into the drop down where you would normally select which instnace of WoW I want to update. I can now no longer add manually my Ratail addons or WoTLK add ons folders. I noticed there is no way to remove the folders it added after the scan as well. I trired uninstalling and reinstalling but everything was still there, and now i can no longer use curseforge to update my WoTLK or Ratail WoW folders.

whenever i try to add the retail folder again, it says its already being tracked by the Curseforge App, but I can no longer see my retail addons as a selectable drop down option under WoW in the app. So theres no way for me to manually update my addons for retail now with the app

How to upload a server pack

Serverpacks are special files uploaded alongside an existing project file. If the main file is rejected the server pack is also rejected.

*In order to upload a server pack you must have a pre-uploaded export file

1. Make the server pack by zipping up the required files by selecting the required folders & files. It should include the config and mod folders at a minimum, plus anything else you specifically required to run the server. Start/Run/Setup scripts are optional. Don't include modloader files or the minecraft server jar.
2. Go to the Files tab on the project.
3. Click the name of the file you wish to upload the server pack to. The pack and server should match pack versions.

I'm not sure if you can exactly, someone with more knowledge may be able to answer that; but for every game except Minecraft, you can stop using curseforge to manage the mods.

Go to settings, click on the icon of the game and turn the Mod Management toggle to off.

Nothing is truly deleted when you "delete" a file. Can archive files, but they arent fully removed from the system. Just removed from the public.

Same with "deleting" and archive, it isnt truly gone, Just removed from your view and the publics. Its still floating in the backend space. Only tickets can truly remove files.

Ive never personaly done server files. Archiving it will remove it from public view, but if you try to upload the same file again you will still get hit with the reject message. As you cannot upload the same exact file twice

Editing a config, adding a random text file, or making a small edit to something else is enough to change the zip

hello o/ I tried to install curseforge to use some minecraft mods. the mod were not compatible with each other on forge so I've decided to uninstall curseforge. but the problem is that I can't use minecraft anymore oO. my normal launcher is the one from the modpack i had chosen, there's no .minecraft with my old configs and saves, they are all from curseforge now. please, would you help me to find my regular minecraft back ?

in the regular .minecraft everything is still here, saves and all. but the launcher doesn't know my accounts anymore, nor my versions, nothing but what I gave to curseforge. is it normal after uninstalling it ?

CF shouldnt have touched the .minecraft folder, as it uses its own folders for minecraft.

i don't think anything is corrupted. the curseforge program seems to have reprogrammed my regular vanilla launcher and I just want it to be set back as it was :/.

It really shouldnt have, unless you told it to use the files. It doesnt touch that area, even warns users if they try to set it too. Try reinstalling your vanilla mc.

Could try a pc reboot as well, If there are "ghost" files stuck open in the background that could cause issues

i can try the pc reboot, and maybe to reinstall the vanilla launcher but apparently the curseforge files are still there and I don't know why since i've uninstalled it. the ressources packs are still pointing to the modpack i had on curseforge :/.

When you uninstall the app the game related files stay, as sometimes you need to reinstall the app to get an update if your outdated. Would be really annoying to loose all your game files when reinstalling no?

As long as nothing is linking the .minecraft folder to the cf app they wont touch eachother. The only time we see some links is when the launcher the cf app uses doesnt close properly or crashes (ghost files) does the vanilla launcher try to connect. That weird "pc sees it as the same process" randomness

One thing I have seen for the vanila modding is some will have folders within the mods folder for different versions of mc or modloaders. Vanilla really doesnt handle that well. The .minecraft folder was never made to be modded. yes forge and farbic can modify it, but it was never really made to handle that.

Thats why mod managers exist.

i did not have any issues with curseforge itself, my problem was with the mods compatibility. i downloaded it to see if I could have a better solution to have better x and oh the biomes you'll go working toguether on forge but there's wasn't any possibilities. since I had found a fabric version of OTBYG and I knew that I won't use curseforge anymore, I've uninstalled it. but I took offense about the behavior of overwolf. I can't stand when a program runs even when it's supposed to be shut down.

Ah, yeah so one thing to remember with mods, there is no guarantee of mods being compatible with eachother.

yeah, i saw that. i did the recommanded installation of curseforge with overwolf, but I shouldn't have. i really seldom play with mods, (only for a christmas special, here). but if I do and try to install curseforge again, I'll go for the installation without overwolf. In theory as well, if you didnt delete the old cf profiles folders, when you install the standalone it should reattach to those files.

The mod is available on 1.19.1 and 1.19.2 for Forge & Fabric. The Fabric version requires the Fabric API and GeckoLib.

Why every time I open a modpack on curseforge, it opens the minecraft launcher and keeps updating it? And by the way, is it normal for it to open a launcher as if it were new to minecraft without the versions that I already have installed?

The launcher cf uses is the same as the one mojang uses, just a copy to keep vanilla and cf separate. With that any little updates mocrosoft/mojnag make to their launcher cf will also get.

Correct. CF saves all mc related things in its own folder. Separate from the .minecraft folder. Unless a user finds a way to force it (there is a block to prevent but things can happen)

1. Open the Minecraft section of the app.
2. Click the top search bar where it says Search for modpacks OR Click the Browse Modpacks Tab.
3. Find the Modpack you want to install and click install on it.
4. Wait for the CurseForge app to download and unpack all the required files.
5. Once finished, click Play!===***

How to install modpacks from an Export (Custom/Private/Site downloaded Modpack zip)

1. Get the CurseForge app if you don't have it, use !download for a link.
2. Get the exported modpack from CurseForge or someone else, !mc-packshare explains how to make them.
3. Open the Minecraft section of the app.
4. Click Create Custom Profile
5. Click the Import option.
6. Find the file you just downloaded in step 2 and select it.
7. CurseForge app will now attempt to download and unpack the modpack. If it fails, try steps 4-6 again.
8. Once finished, click Play!

Caused by not having the same mods, mod versions and I forgot the other cause (I will not carry on with this any longer since the notcf)

if you have no special settings done in configs just delete the entire configs folder and then try new launch

How to repair your Minecraft installation on CurseForge - **NOT** the same as `Repair Profile` - please follow these exact steps

1. Click on the Minecraft Tab on the left side of the CurseForge App.
2. Click button next to the Create Custom Profile option.
3. Click Repair Installation option.
4. Play game.

NOTE: Although this might seem similar to the instructions of repairing profile, it's different and required. No worries, you will not lose any modpacks or worlds.

Two ways to share a modpack you made with others

Export and Share - For Friends / Small Groups

1. Click the Icon for the modpack.
2. Click the button next to play.
3. Click Export.
4. Select the files that should be included.
5. Send the zip to the people that want it! They can follow the instructions in !mc-installpack to install the pack.

Upload to Curseforge - For Public Release to Everyone

This option will make your pack public to EVERYONE, it comes with extra requirements and will take some effort to set up.

1. Go to create a new project
2. Fill out the information with a proper description of the pack. This should allow anyone to understand what the pack is.
3. Click the Icon for the modpack in the CurseForge app.
4. Click the button next to play.
5. Click Export.
6. Select the files that should be included.
7. Open your Project that you made on the CurseForge site and Upload the file you just made.
8. Wait for Moderation & Sync so it can show up in the client! (See !sync for limitations and !status to learn about the moderation process and how long it will take to approve/decline)

I've been trying to download a modpack for around 4 hours and it always ends up in giving me this error after downloading.

The decryption operation failed, see inner exception.

I've tried different curseforge+overwolf versions, curseforge standalone, etc.

Miraculously it just suddenly decided to download 🤨

for anyone else with this issue I restarted my internet drivers. maybe that did it

I lied, there's another issue:

Server packs are up to project authors to send in a format that users who download them can figure out how to use. Ideally they shod include a readme.txt or install script, etc - but that's up to them.

optifine breaks a lot of mods

including forge itself a lot of the time

if you want to use optifine,dont use other mods and make sure to use the exact forge version they tell you to. if you want to use it with other mods, go to optifine for support.
if you want shaders, then stop using optifine and use oculus instead. its much more compatible
