How to install mods in CurseForge App.

1. Click + Create Custom Profile
2. Name it, select the required Minecraft version, select the modloader & modloader version (usually the highest number), click Create.
3. Click the profile icon.
4. Click Add More Content
5. Search and install the desired mods.
6. Start the game!

How to install mods not on CurseForge.

1. Right click the profile picture or Open the profile and click the Icon next to the play button.
2. Click Open Folder.

I need help with my curseforge app It cant locate my sims 4 game and I even tried the "scan now" feature and manually linked the game to my mods folder and it still wont work. My mods folder is on an SD card so I'm not sure if thats the problem. It says "this is an invalid directory or unsupported game". Please help

Curseforge can’t recognise mods in sims 4 properly downloaded from the website before December 6. Also other mods aren’t recognised that well. Maybe because it may be an older version of a mod? Idk

Could try a repair installation, and maybe a repair profile. A pc reboot may also help. Otherwise the game will still boot with the mods even tho they dont show in the cf app.

Open Notepad in administrator mode > then in notepad open the file "C:\windows\system32\drivers\etc\hosts"
Delete those 3 lines and save.

If done correctly should just resave the file and bee good. If it asks you to name the file or a hosts.txt file shows in the etc folder you didnt open notepad in administrator mode

Fabric = Fabric MC, this is another modloader, just called "Fabric".
CurseForge = A Website/App that has content for games.
Mods = Individual mod files.
Modpacks = Multiple mods put into the mods folder or downloaded from CurseForge.

These are not Interchangeable! Please use the correct terms as it allows us to help you faster!

Hello, I am having issues and I hoped I could ask here as I am frankly out've ideas. When I attempt to instal a modpack, I get "An unexcpected errror occured. opperation failed" When I try to play a modpack it says "Failed to launch" followed by a bunch of random numbers and letters. I've tried the Repair instalation button, allowing overwolf and curseforge through my firewall, and uninstaling and reinstaling all together. I even updated java, I'm sorry if theres an obvious option I haven't seen as I'm rather new to this.

the easiest way to filter by modloader/mc version is to create a profile of that modloader/version using the CF app and searching via the 'add more content' window

This is going to be a public page where people can find out about your SMP (even if its a private SMP)
Show off a bit, say what the SMP is about (as that is where the modpack is going to be used). Say what some of the best mods in the pack are, and how they work together.
If you have builds from the SMP, or past seasons of it, put pictures of those up

Alternatively, you can just send players the .zip and tell them to import it manually, which means you don't need a public page

My friends keep crashing randomly well playing a lightly modded world. It happens at random times and they're the only ones crashing as I am hosting the server. The world we're playing has custom datapacks so that may be causing an issue. The error they get is something along the lines of: Internal Exception: java.lang.IndexOutOfBoundsException: readerIndex(13) + length(8) exceeds writerIndex(13): PooledUnsafeDirectByteBuf(ridx:13, widx: 13, cap: 13)

• Remove any mods listed in the error message from the profile you exported. Then reinstall them with the CurseForge app. DO NOT drag and drop files from the site.

• Export the profile again, open the new zip that was just made. Check for the overrides/mods folder. If you still see any mods in that folder do the step above again for each mod.

• Upload the zip once complete and no more mods show in the overrides/mods folder.

Hi, got a problem. CurseForge app doesn't export/create manifest.json
Tried to transplant empty manifest.json from another modpack. CurseForge doesn't populate/override it.
I could manually create my own manifest using github.com/jadc/modpack-manifest-generator, but searching for project id's manually for 101 mods is kinda long.
Is there any way I can solve this problem?

P.S. I'm a newbie modpack creator wannabe

Hello, I have recently tried to start using the CurseForge app for Sims 4 mods, previously I have just used it for Minecraft modpacks, but when I go to click the install button or install from the drop-down menu on Sims 4 mod pages nothing happens. Any ideas what could be causing the issue or how to fix it?

Hello, I'm experiencing a slight problem. Basically my SSD was too full because of my vault hunters modpack. And i copied it to my other disc and deleted the files from my SSD, but it doesn't show up on curseforge anymore, how can i fix it?

Is there a way to add a mod to a minecraft modpack that's not for the exact version the pack is on? e.g, I have a 1.16.5 pack, and I want a mod that's marked as 1.16, but I know for a fact works on 1.16.5, but the CF app doesn't show it in search. Can I add it somehow? If I manually download and add the file, will that work, and more importantly, if I export the pack, will it include the mod?

Also i'm not sure if this question is more appropriate here or in #🧱︱mc-other-help , so direct me if needed

How to repair your Minecraft installation on CurseForge

2. Click button next to the Create Custom Profile option.
3. Click Repair Installation option.
4. Play game.

Mods = Individual mod files.
Modpacks = Multiple mods put into the mods folder or downloaded from CurseForge.
