restarting it just put the mods back in the curseforge mod list + in the mod folder again. i'm deleting them from curseforge and the mod folder manually again and seeing if it'll fix it

Try restarting the app
Try restarting your computer
Disable any programs that interfere with your connection. VPN, ping tunnels, antivirus, firewall.
Try restarting your router and modem. Also try using a different connection if possible.

Hi. I have a strange problem. Curse app wont open anymore. I was using it fine yesterday for WoW... this morning it just wont open.

I tried running as admin, I get the windows confirmation dialogue, but still nothing actually launches. I don't see any processes starting up in task manager either.

How to add/remove mods in a modpack.

Click on the picture of the modpack.
Click the Add More Content button, IF this button is not there, see below before continuing.
Find the Mods, Resource Packs or Maps you wish to Install and click Install on them.
Wait for all the required mods to be downloaded.
Start the modpack.

How to Enable/Disable content management for modpacks.

Click on the picture of the modpack.
Click on the button next to the Play button.
Click on Profile Options.
Check the Allow content management for this profile option if you want to edit the content of the modpack, uncheck it to disable.

NOTE: The Allow content management for this profile option is what allows you to Delete, Disable, Update or Install any Mods, Resource Packs or Maps managed by CurseForge. It must be on to modify any of them! (Currently)

Wording is important!

Forge = Minecraft Forge, This is a modloader often just called "Forge".
Fabric = Fabric MC, this is another modloader, just called "Fabric".
CurseForge = A Website/App that has content for games.
Mods = Individual mod files.
Modpacks = Multiple mods put into the mods folder or downloaded from CurseForge.

You can update the mod loader within the same game version in the CurseForge app by following these steps!

Click on the modpack profile you are working with.
Click on the button next to the play button.
Click on the Profile Options button.
Select the mod loader version you want from the dropdown.
Play!

If you need to update to a new game version, a new profile is required.

when trying to sign into curse client it opens this smaller window rather than a browser and fails to log me in

i have firefox and chrome installed but because its not an initial browser tab im not sure which of them was used

tried to sign into desktop on website in firefox and that worked so i tried client login and it gave me that previous window however moved ahead to 2fa step and logged me in as normal.

Hello, I found out that whenever I try to load up minecraft through the regular launcher after a modded game launched through curseforge crashes, I cannot get the regular launcher to open. This continues even after disabling curseforge through task manager and the only way to fix this currently seems to be restarting my computer. Is this something curseforge is aware of?
(this happens with any modpack after it crashes, both custom ones and published ones)
Sometimes it also happens when i close the modded instance using the quit game button

How to add/remove mods in a modpack.

Click on the picture of the modpack.
Click the Add More Content button, IF this button is not there, see below before continuing.
Find the Mods, Resource Packs or Maps you wish to Install and click Install on them.
Wait for all the required mods to be downloaded.
Start the modpack.

How to Enable/Disable content management for modpacks.

Click on the picture of the modpack.
Click on the button next to the Play button.
Click on Profile Options.
Check the Allow content management for this profile option if you want to edit the content of the modpack, uncheck it to disable.

NOTE: The Allow content management for this profile option is what allows you to Delete, Disable, Update or Install any Mods, Resource Packs or Maps managed by CurseForge. It must be on to modify any of them! (Currently)

Yeah will be sol on that one. As win7 is no longer supported by ow/cf. Also highly recommended you update to atleast win10 as win7 is also nolonger supported by Microsoft as well. Meaning you no longer get any major security updates. Aka no longer safe to use win7 on the internet

ayo i have a question. i downloaded some mod for minecraft to add custom loot to items. To add them you need to open the .jar (mod itself) and modify the json file. After i do that save changes and once i save the jar file curseforge just deletes the mod. In moment i click Save i can see mod go from installed to install

Thats a really weird way of doing it. Not sure why you wouldnt just use datapacks for the 1.13+ versions.

Datapacks were first introduced in 1.13 or 1.14, they won't work in older versions and sometimes won't work in different versions

Anyone happen to know why the CurseForge Application either the Standalone OR the Overwolf one will not update Minecraft Forge to Forge - 43.1.57 from 43.1.52? Instead all of the users get this error? Yet it runs just fine with the Forge 43.1.52. So something is errorin out when the Forge Update is being attempted. And yes Java is installed as they are running all the packs just fine as well as Miencraft

unfortunately that looks like launching with the 43.1.52 and crashing because of mod forge requirements, rather than the failed .57 install - it over-writes that log each launch

There are two ways to share a modpack you've made with others...

Export and Share - For Friends to Small Groups.

Click the Icon for the modpack.
Click the button next to play.
Click Export.
Select the files that should be included.
Send the zip to the people that want it! They can follow the instructions in !mc-installpack to install the pack!

Upload to Curseforge - For Public Release to Everyone.

This options will make your pack public to EVERYONE, it comes with extra requirements and will take some effort to set up.

Go to here: https://www.curseforge.com/project/432/4471/create
Fill out the information with a proper description of the pack. This should allow anyone to understand what the pack is.
Click the Icon for the modpack in the CurseForge app.
Click the button next to play.
Click Export.
Select the files that should be included.
Open your Project you made on the CurseForge site and Upload the file you just made.
Wait for Moderation & Sync so it can show up in the client! (See !sync for limitations)

You can update the mod loader within the same game version in the CurseForge app by following these steps!

Click on the modpack profile you are working with.
Click on the button next to the play button.
Click on the Profile Options button.
Select the mod loader version you want from the dropdown.

If you need to update to a new game version, a new profile is required.

yes, the launcher that cf opens is just a copy of the normal launcher set up so that it doesn't corrupt your main minecraft install if something goes wrong

Right-click the modpack profile icon OR click the button in the modpack profile.
Click Open Folder.
Open the logs folder.
Drag and drop the FILE named latest OR debug into discord.

I had the same problem. Find and remove the file (JavaChecker.jar) THO i still have some errors after that with the java version and some reason unable to change that. BUT removing that fixed the error for me

manage profile on both versions of the launcher leads to the same microsoft/xbox account. Maybe the older browser doesnt recognise that its a java acc? only saying that since the option in red literally isnt there for the older launcher

yeah i mean i just opened a mc account using the new email and when i try and manage my account, it leads to the older account 😭 it seems like Microsoft doesnt really take that much time to change the details because the email is already connected, just that i dont have access to anything to do with it

How to get the launcher log

Right click a modpack / profile.
Select Open Folder
Go back two folders.
Open the Install folder.
Drag the launcher_log.txt into discord.

How to add/remove mods in a modpack.

Click on the picture of the modpack.
Click the Add More Content button, IF this button is not there, see below before continuing.
Find the Mods, Resource Packs or Maps you wish to Install and click Install on them.
Wait for all the required mods to be downloaded.
Start the modpack.

How to Enable/Disable content management for modpacks.

Click on the picture of the modpack.
Click on the button next to the Play button.
Click on Profile Options.
Check the Allow content management for this profile option if you want to edit the content of the modpack, uncheck it to disable.

NOTE: The Allow content management for this profile option is what allows you to Delete, Disable, Update or Install any Mods, Resource Packs or Maps managed by CurseForge. It must be on to modify any of them! (Currently)

Wording is important!

Forge = Minecraft Forge, This is a modloader often just called "Forge".
Fabric = Fabric MC, this is another modloader, just called "Fabric".
CurseForge = A Website/App that has content for games.
Mods = Individual mod files.
Modpacks = Multiple mods put into the mods folder or downloaded from CurseForge.

These are not Interchangeable! Please use the correct terms as it allows us to help you faster!

Game saves and the app files save in 2 different places. At least for mc any ways

Error/Exit codes are useless. Follow these steps so someone can actually help you.

Right-click the modpack profile icon OR click the button in the modpack profile.
Click Open Folder.
Open the logs folder.
Drag and drop the FILE named latest OR debug into discord.

I'm running into an error trying to run vanilla minecraft from curseforge: "Couldn't load launcher core from C:...\curseforge\minecraft\Install\game\launcher.dll: LoadErrorNotPresent.

I've gone to this path and there is no files inside the game folder. I have minecraft java installed from the windows store and can run it from their unified launcher. Anyone know why i'm missing files here? Repairing the installation does not work, and neither does rebooting/reinstalling.

How to repair your Minecraft installation on CurseForge

Click on the Minecraft Tab on the Left side of the CurseForge App.
Click button next to the Create Custom Profile option.
Click Repair Installation option.
Play game.

NOTE: Although this might seem similar to the instructions of repairing profile, it's different and required. No worries, you will not lose any modpacks or worlds.

How are you running vanilla? From the folder OR from the app?

from the app, right above the option on the menu you mention here, there's a button that says "Run Vanilla Minecraft"
