One solution tends to be to remove the problematic mods
is the minecraft launcher supposed to download so slowly? it either downloads at 20-30 kb/s or 1 kb a second when it slows down... this only happens when i download a new modpack with about 200-300 mods. is it normal to take an hour-ish to donwload? its about 350 megabytes

Hello! I am currently having issues connecting to LAN servers when I open minecraft through the cursforge launcher. I have tried running the exact same modpack, version, and everything through the original minecraft launcher and it works fine.

I already said, I made a mod pack in 1.16.5, but when I went to make a world, it told me that some of my data packs were for the wrong version, even though the file said 1.16.5. I want to know if this is some form of glitch, if there's some easy way to fix it, or if I just need to completely remake my mod pack for some reason.

Um, I think my mods might be broken somehow? On the world I've been playing on, I was searching for ages trying to find any structure to make a base at, and thought "That's strange, I haven't found a single structure of any kind". So to test, I made a creative world to do /locate, But /locate says no structures exist of any kind. Doing /locate for any modded structure brings up nothing. No clue what could be wrong, as all the mods are up to date and haven't given an error

Custom profile, but all the mods are ripped from a modpack. So every mod in the OG modpack is in my pack (Better Minecraft)

That's the weird thing. I literally copied all the mods in Better MC, put them in my own pack, then added a few extra packs, but none of those should have any affect on terrain generation at all. But maybe I'm wrong and they do? They're mostly just machine mods and client side stuff like AppleSkin and WMITF
And the one that might alter anything (AE2) is listed as compatible
yeah kind of weird. mods that add custom biomes will cause issues but not ones that only add structures theoretically

AE2, Industrial Revolution, Reborn Core, Tech Reborn, Chalk, Chisel Refab, Crooked Crooks, Deep Mob Learning + Simulacrum, Skulker Tool Tips, Better Biome Blend
Do any of those alter terrain generation in a way that would interfere with structures? AE2 adds some stuff, but Terralith says it's compatible

Modpacks = Multiple mods put into the mods folder or downloaded from CurseForge.

Idk why but when ever I try to play vault hunters specifically it freezes a lot and stops working but when I play a different mod pack with sometimes more mods it is fine and does not freeze
might be a mod in vault hunters that other mods dont have that ur computer struggles to support

Validating manifest takes time depending on how many mods are in the pack.

not an expert but it seems like this caused a cascade of other issues:
java.lang.ClassCastException: class net.minecraft.class_2431 cannot be cast to class eu.pb4.polymer.api.utils.PolymerObject (net.minecraft.class_2431 and eu.pb4.polymer.api.utils.PolymerObject are in unnamed module of loader net.fabricmc.loader.impl.launch.knot.KnotClassLoader @35f26e72)

Yep! Its a resource pack, and you need to make sure graphics is set to Fabulous. Its no where near as impressive as those glary optifine shaders, but it still makes everything look much better imo

Ex nihilo Creatio (1.12.2)'s crucible works differently depending on the source. Some are from diferent mods. I have seen it work with blaze mesh from Botania. but in my custom modpack it doesn't work. How can i change it?
It looks like that version has .json files as the way to configure it, so if you haven't tried poking around in those files, that might be worth a shot!

Is it possible for one to create a curseforge modpack without using the app?
(might also be worth checking if enableCrucible=true in the /src/config/exnihilocreatio/ExNihiloCreatio.cfg file, if there is one? I'm not sure if that file usually exists, or only in Stoneblock 2 😅)

sounds like a good place to start, yeah - maybe even just unzipping and rezipping the pack to see if there's anything unusual about how it's compressed 😅 I'd be curious to hear how that goes
if you're just wanting a pack for yourself and not to publish there may be some info on how to get just a modded install with Forge running and avoid CurseForge entirely? ofc that's way beyond the scope of this server unfortunately

the zip files for modpacks don't actually contain the mods. you'll need some kind of launcher app to pull the mods into a profile (you CAN look up each modID individually but uhh)
the CF app will have a linux distro soon-ish

or get someone else's copies of the mod files, take the rest from the export.zip, plop them all into your own minecraft install with loader installed on top

To become an editor, type /ftbquests editing_mode command (You don't have to have cheats enabled in singleplayer worlds for this command to work). New buttons will show up in the Quest GUI.
CraftTweaker is a mod that uses scripts and such to change recipes and other things in modpacks, it seems like something to explore as an option at least!

Personally I use just Visual Studio code with some plugins for syntax highlighting and edit the recipes in datapack format and occasionally some javascript I wrote to help generate them, but I'm only wanting to add new recipes, not remove or change existing ones

you don't need to use the source code for recipes in post 1.14 (.15? forge). can view inside the jar file itself /data folder using zip program

Can someone tell me how to disable seeing items inside containers and player inventories? I'm using WMITF and WTHIT, and I'm on Fabric 1.18.
