How to install mods in CurseForge App.

Click + Create Custom Profile
Name it, select the required Minecraft version, select the Forge version (usually the highest number), click Create.
Click the profile icon.
Click Add More Content
Search and install the desired mods.
Start the game!

A few mods say that they are client only but the server still opens without problem I noticed, why does some mods instead of doing that just straight up crash the server during creation while others it just tells you that it will ignore?

Okay, am doing the server creation test again cause well... added more mods in cause I STILL didn't install any mods that add considerable power generation options despite having a bunch of mods that require power and the only power generation I had was really damn weak lol

Some mods are dicks and don't do that it seems, am missing RedstoneFlux that is needed for CoFCore that was a dependency for Thermal Something lol

so i changed my aternos server into a forge one i added a few mods and a map (map was from 1.17.1 and sserver was 1.16.5 w a backport to 1.17.10 And when i tryed to enter the server via ip adress it gave me a error code saying the connection had been forcible reset by a remote (i can get u the exact error msg if u need it)

Oh God... game was working fine and now I may have doomed the entire save with this stupid mod that didn't even had its dependencies listed... Solar Village... Adds literally a solar panel, as soon as I tried to place it, it crashes the game...
Added the dependency, game crashes as its loading in... delete both mods, still crashes... It keeps pointing at Applied Energistics 2 for whatever reason... I'm definitely NOT deleting it... I just had finished moving ALL my stuff into the ME Drive...

How to **manually** install a server - **On your own PC**

Check if the modpack has a server pack, if it does: use that and skip below.
Go to the Forge website http://files.minecraftforge.net/ and download the Installer for the forge version the pack is using.
Run the installer and choose Install server. Do not install to your desktop. Also do not install inside a OneDrive folder.
Run the server using the forge.jar. A file called eula.txt will be generated. Open it and change eula=false to eula=true
From the Client; Copy the mods folder, config folder, and any other folders needed for the pack to work into the server folder. If the modpack has a server pack, use this instead!
Run the server again.
Port forward your machine if needed. (Google it)

Over the past few days I have been trying to play a single player modded world on minecraft, whenever I attempt to create and/or play any world, my world opens into a multiplayer world and kicks me out. What exactly happens I do not know, and it is not connected into normal minecraft. I will log into the world, it will give me a black screen and I can see "recipes discovered" at the top right. After a few seconds it will say "cannot connect to server, disconnected," even though I opened up a single player world. As a side note I have both uninstalled and reinstalled minecraft and curseforge to see if something was wrong.

Super easy fix then, reinstall the pack will fix that issue. We dont recommend adding mods to pre-made packs as it can/will break things. Doing this means your on your own to fix it.

Remove ftb achievements, Its known to cause issues in none ftb packs. Even notes this on the mods description page

yay mixin errors.... So one or more of your mods is using mixin 8 which seems to be breaking with JEID, Which mod it is tho is the hard part. May have to take out all mods and add a couple at a time testing in-between till it crashes to figure out which one is causing the issue.

I tried playing the "simply magic 2" pack with a friend and the ip had the word "ngrok" written on it, and I had these following issues:

My hqm book had no quests, and I couldn't create any parties
How do I turn off hqm mode? Or how do I work around the lives limit?
My friend's pc crashes when someone opens a loot bag, how do I
work around this? I didn't try hosting the world yet,the pack's dev didn't answer my message and the hqm dev hasn't logged in around 2 months ago.
How do I solve these issues? Should I try creating an issue in the hqm github or can someone give other suggestion? Thanks for the help

Wording is important!

Forge = Minecraft Forge, This is a modloader often just called "Forge".
Fabric = Fabric MC, this is another modloader, just called "Fabric".
CurseForge = A Website/App that has content for games.
Mods = Individual mod files.
Modpacks = Multiple mods put into the mods folder or downloaded from CurseForge.

These are not Interchangeable! Please use the correct terms as it allows us to help you faster!

hello, i hope someone might be able to help me. on friday i had to update my mod pack to be able to play on a friends server and since i updated multiplayer hasn't been working. i can load into the main page and am able to select things on that page but once i hit multiplayer and load into that screen I'm not able to click on anything. I've tried uninstalling and reinstalling both minecraft and curse forge and going through all of my settings even restarting my router. i also contacted curseforge and mojang support. curseforge informed me its nothing on their end so it must be something with the server and I've spoken to two minecraft experts and no one knows why its not working. i don't know what else i can do

shrug idk. current release version is v18. it appears to work. it's also the only version marked as release so they must be reasonably confident about it. if you haveen't done so add more ram/memory to your minecraft startups as the better MC modpacks are bloated

Serverpacks are special files uploaded alongside an existing project file. If the main file is rejected the server pack is also rejected.

You require an already uploaded export file to upload a server pack!

Make the server pack by zipping up the required files by selecting the required folders & files. It should include the config and mod folders at a minimum, plus anything else you specifically required to run the server. Start/Run/Setup scripts are optional. Don't include modloader files or the minecraft server jar.
Go to the Files tab on the project.
Click the name of the file you wish to upload the server pack to. The pack and server should match pack versions.
Click Upload Additional File.
Fill out the form.

Imho just use 1.16 as it is in a good place right now with lots of mods. Most decent 1.14 mods are ported to 1.16+. 1.12 was the great fork because after that the code changed requiring major rewrites if porting

Hello, does anyone have any info on the best server hosting service for running a modded server with 100 players for a brief time? The modpack is in 1.12.2 and has around 120 mods. The server won't need to be longer-term and the world is only 2K by 2K blocks.

To get the existing sign texture to scale down rename the mod to .zip and unzip it. The texture should be located somewhere in the assets folder. Also remember the folder path to the texture, this is the same path the texture needs to have in your texture pack

You have forge mods installed, remove them
You also have both 1.16 and 1.17 fabric mods, its quite a mess, decide a version to stick to and only have mods from that version

You can update the mod loader within the same game version in the CurseForge app by following these steps!

Click on the modpack profile you are working with.
Click on the button next to the play button.
Click on the Profile Options button.
Select the mod loader version you want from the dropdown.
Play!

If you need to update to a new game version, a new profile is required.

Whenever I try to launch a modpack from curseforge it will send me to the Minecraft launcher like normal but when I launch it from the Minecraft launcher, it closes the launcher and nothing happens.

Theres no errors at all in the log, I have no idea what could be causing it.
I would reccomend starting from scratch and adding a couple mods, launching it and repeat. if it crashes at any point then you know which mods caused it and can remove them

I downloaded the Modpack Mineshafts and Monsters, it seems to work fine up until I actually create a world, at that point the game just stops responding, I've left it alone for half an hour so far to see if it would eventually respond, but it doesn't, it doesn't crash though, simply stops responding to where I have to forcefully close the program which is where I get this message from the launcher.

for some reason whenever i try to open it it will ask for admin permission

One of your mods is likely causing the issue. Problem is reports dont specify which one. May have to take all them out and try 1 mod at a time till it crashes to see which one it is

hello i need help with my curseforge server, i installed the modpack life in the village 2 and wanted to play it on a server so i downloaded the server pack on curseforge and iunziped it, opend launch server,did the eula to true and use minecraft server to start the server but when i tryed to join the server the server was marked as incompatible vanilla version
