It can be used to auto create Fabric instances, something in your inicial install of fabric is wrong. Its erroring out
the whole point of curseforge is modded games - it has an app that handles the mods and running them
that and you have none fabric mods in the mods folder which wont work either So just try the app
The installer will install the ow app, use it to install the cf app

Authors version labeling method. If it says its for mc version 1.16.4 then it will work with 16.4

Its up to the author to label the file and mark the mc version and mod loader
Also I guess installing the mods from this again wont fix the missmatch problem by 90% :/
Client has mods that are missing on server: [byg, immersive_portals, dungeonsmod, endrem, subwild, betterweather, corpse, securitycraft]
To join a server the client and server need to have the same mods, configs. If the client has some that arent on the server or server has more then the client it will spit out the miss match. There are only a few mods that are excepted from this (optifines group)

Hello, I was thinking about creating a Patreon only access modded Minecraft server using a public modpack that I created. However, I'm unsure whether paying to be whitelisted on a server that contains mods that say not to monetize them would be against the rules even though the mods and the modpack itself are completely free/public. Since people would just pay to be whitelisted on the server and not for the mods themselves, would it be ok to do something like that or would that still be against the license regardless of the modpack being free and public?

Dodge you are certain your start script is pointing to the forge server.jar file in that folder?
because better minecraft is 1.16 and 1.15 didn't last very long? a lot of mods that got updated went straight to 1.16 and skipped 1.15, or are new to 1.16
Used a guide:
"Finally, forge-1.16.4.jar is the file we’ll use to start the server. I like to copy this file with a new name to make things easier.
cp ./forge-1.16.4.jar ./forge.jar
This will make a new file called forge.jar that we can use instead. Totally optional."
tons of people do it, there's nothing wrong with it. If you couldn't do that then you wouldn't have the ability use the mod on a host as it would cost money to run the server.

ye - after it's done remove it
if that a.jar was the installer renamed - remove from client and server and try to run now
if you're sketch on running this server stuff it's a very very good idea to first make a blank folder with only the forge install, no mods, and test it's boot

it's not only about the grunt your computer has, it's what the capabilities of the code java MC can do

I've played with betterfoliage before and it likes to give me problems so that's not out of the ordinary
I'd actually recommend trying without sodium
I added sodium to help my computer handle create better and just generally running the game better but I'll try without it
performance mods like sodium tend to rewrite the game in ways that some mods can't handle, especially when used on versions other than the one they were designed for

Anyone here that is known with apex hosting?
If so, do you know of the error when the owner gets "disconnected by server" when trying to join his server with mods. I can join with no problems at all.
So i want to make a modpack all about exploration. But how do i know if a mod will work together
Depends on what you mean by "work together".
If you build your pack with the curseforge app it wont let you select mods that dont work on your selected mc version.
If two or more mods simply cannot be together you will quickly know as it will crash.
If mods have ingame issues the only way to know is to check for yourself, or dig into issue trackers.
So i should just put all the mods i want into the modpack and then check for errors, ingame issues etc?
would be best to only add a few at a time and check frequently for crashing

Currently trying to play a custom modpack with a mate but anytime we try to connect through a hamachi LAN it says "disconnect internal server error". we have tried everything we can think of to fix this from tinkering with firewall settings to allow forge, hamachi and minecraft through the fire wall to reinstalling everything we are using like java and curseforge and also the normal minecraft launcher. The odd thing is it worked shortly before hand and then when adding new mods to the pack it came up with the error, however returning to the old version that worked only 20 minutes before also started showing the same error message. we had previously been on a hamachi LAN connection for an All the mods 6 world which worked fine for weeks and works for another modpack called "Buddypack". At this point we have no idea what is happening and why it doesn't work and any help would be appreciated.

this is just a hunch but it might have something to do with using schematica in survival mode? I am not sure if the purpose of schematica is to spawn in structures when in survival but if its not that then it may be because you are trying to use it on a server and perhaps need admin level permission in order for schematica to run commands to place those blocks? not sure really. hello! i was trying to follow a tutorial on getting optifine+replay mod, ig my problem is that the tutorials are out of date but my main problem is that when i followed the tutorial when i launched minecraft (on the official minecraft launcher) it said game crashed (which ig hass something to do with mod folder)

Cause I tried to change the gamemode in the "server" file. But it didn't change anything for the players
2 options, If you have a mod that handles permissions then you can give them the permissions for what ever command.
2: give them Op (all perrmisions) with /op <user>

You can op yourself from the servers console. If the server is just for you and friends (you trust) then no, you can op away. But if randoms are joining I wouldnt op them. As they will have access to deop you, stop the server when ever they want and other harmful things with /op
Open your servers console and type /op <your username>

CurseForge App and site do not share the same requirements! You can find things on the site but this does not mean it will be in the app!
For a mod to show up in the app:
- Projects MUST have a file marked as RELEASE or BETA
- Projects MUST be APPROVED
- Projects MUST have a file marked for the PROFILE VERSION USED
- Projects CAN'T be EXPERIMENTAL
- Projects CAN'T be ABANDON
Files can take a while to show up in the app. If your files still have not shown up either your project is new and you have yet to mark a file as Release/Beta or there is issues with the sync system making it slow.

I added the mod Compact Storage and ComPatchedStorage, then relising they are not the correct mod (Simple Storage) I removed them (Also, SimpleStorage was already installed)
Now, the server will not start- it just says

Set the max-tick-time from 60k to 120k... fixed it.

Find the file called latest.log and drag it into discord.

Latest will have everyhting from your current session
If your using the curseforge app and changed to another pack it makes a new folder for that pack.

I think it had something to do with either lycanthopes, enhanced celestials or vampirism.
It was fine until those three specifically got into the pack but idk what is so wrong with them
I am having constant issues now, started happening out of nowhere. But was after I place the radar block for the mod Weather, Storms & Tornadoes and affected every world I have.

btw, unless file extensions are turned on, the extension is normally hidden on windows

Often times, the bug will be related to a bugged entity somewhere in the world. It will then get close enough to you and crash you!

If your using the vanilla launcher its in appdata
If your using curseforge it will be in the folder you set your Modded minecraft path when you first set up the app.
Also, if you are using a custom path in the vanilla launcher, it will be in that custom path you set

the main launcher for minecraft recognizes the crash
if it is not, it means it is a different type of crash
for example, often it is a graphics card crash
or anything that causes minecraft to crash super hard
and in those cases it fails to make a crash report
in most cases, minecraft will catch and error and make a crash report
so.. that means that i cant find the error, and have to guess and check it?
you are just going to have to try uploading the error you got from the client

Yep, that is a JVM crash... I will see if I can see anything from that report that can help you, but in most cases it is unrelated to the modpack

Generally you can get the latest Jdk from the oracle site. However, oracle jdk is no longer in support for java 8 so if you need a newer java, you will need to use a windows variant of openjdk

(i spend more time loading the modpack than playing it ;-;)
if you do crash, check the log and make sure you are on the new version. I have noticed that if you have 2 versions, sometimes applications might use the wrong version
I think with Curse, you might need to select the JRE to use

Optifine messes with how the game loads
Optifine is one of the many mods that is notorious for modifying code! As a result, it is the first one blamed when a crash is not super clear!
That and it is not open source so it is harder for other mod developers to code around it

If you rented a server from them you should have gotten info from them on how to connect to their server. Otherwise you may want to contact their support for it

Is it possible to download a forge mod, and then change the version of it? It sounds silly, but I really want to know. The reason for this is because Mo bends is only available for 1.8, rather than 1.8.9. And I want to use it for a pvp modpack, so 1.8.9 would be best, due to majority of PVP mods mainly being on 1.8.9

yeah knew there was something, unistall the version of dynamic trees - travers compact you currently have, will need to install the latest from a mod called Dynamic Trees - Traverse Found it in the app searching "traverse"
the compact one is outdated
Only way to "change" it is to contact the author and Nicely ask if they will updated their mod.
Otherwise you would need to 1: need to check the mods license 2: ask the author if you can make a port of it then update it yourself

Forge = Minecraft Forge, This is a modloader often just called "Forge".
Fabric = Fabric MC, this is another modloader, just called "Fabric".
CurseForge = A Website/App that has content for games.
Mods = Individual mod files.
Modpacks = Multiple mods put into the mods folder or downloaded from CurseForge.
These are not Interchangeable! Please use the correct terms as it allows us to help you faster!

your not going to like this too much but.. You may need to take all your mods out and ad them back in a few at a time till it crashes.
So either ice and fire is broken, or another mod is hacking into ice and fire and breaking it
If the install fix is not working a mod may be causing the issue
