I mean I have no problem with you suggesting people do that if you see the relevant issue arise. Of all the crashes that are similar we've seen here, simply reinstalling the vanilla files resolved it.
Just don't personally see this as something to just blanket recommend in leiu of actually finding and fixing the problem.

some versions of optifine will work better than others , it does depend on the pc/person can vary. some folk will have issues with the newest one so will have to use the one before that and such. where as others may have a better experience with the newer one
there was times on 15.2 I believe for me that the newest one at the time just caused random bugs that it was safer to stay on version before that one till the next one come out.

hwyla doesn't have a officially tagged supported version for 16.5 is most likely why. it goes up to 16.3 but you can manually load it into your mod folder as it should work for 16.5

Hi, whenever I try to play Minecraft 1.16.5 with Forge it always crashes with the crash report being "The game crashed whilest rendering overlay". This sucks a lot because forge has so many cool mods but right now im limited to only using Fabric

Also I took out Immersive Portals because it was causing some awful lag/bugs, and added Voice Chat. I didn't think VC would cause any lag, but I could be wrong

@old sail looks like your missing the config file for Travelers Backpack
see if you have the mod in your mods folder and if not download it, but Id recommend making the pack inside CurseForge
its very easy to use and is extremely user friendly

I'm running a forge server that me and some friends play on. We switched mod packs through curseforge so I deleted the world files and swapped out the mod files but the server won't let us connect to it. It says something like 'biome category cannot be cast to java.lang.string' whats up with that?

@hollow dock are you allocating a lot of RAM? If you've got 16 GB you probably shouldn't allocate more than 4-5 to Minecraft because garbage collection can cause a lot of lag
