How to install mods in CurseForge App.

good day guys, i've got a problem with the curseforge client. i cant launch ANY modpack. when clicking on 'play', it loads almost till the end and then stops, pops out an error saying 'unable to update the minecraft runtime environment'. i did all the steps that i've found online and it still didn't help me. any clues?

Optifine is a known problem causer. If you REALLY don't want to remove Optifine, go through your list of mods and remove mods one at a time, then two at a time, then three, etc. until you find a troublemaker OTHER than OptiFine. If you can't, OptiFine is your problem.

How to **manually** install a server - **On your own PC**

1. Go to the Forge website http://files.minecraftforge.net/ and download the Installer for the forge version the pack is using.
2. Run the installer and choose Install server. Do not install to your desktop. Also do not install inside a OneDrive folder.
3. Run the server using the forge.jar. A file called eula.txt will be generated. Open it and change eula=false to eula=true
4. From the Client; Copy the mods folder, config folder, and any other folders needed for the pack to work into the server folder. If the modpack has a server pack, use this instead!
5. Run the server again.

It is probably a thing with your mods. Try removing mods one-by-one, two-by-two, etc. until you find the troublemaker(s)

CurseForge REQUIRE a project to have one file marked Released on them for the projects to show up in search. Otherwise only Direct links to the project work.

Files can take a while to show up in the app. If your files still have not shown up either your project is new and you have yet to mark a file as Release or there is issues with the sync system making it slow.

Pin this please: For some random reason the CurseForge app makes a separate install of Minecraft Java. If you want your regular install of Minecraft Java back you have to close the CurseForge app and Overwolf completely, play other games, and wait to get your regular install of Minecraft back.

I would recommend ROBLOX or Osu Lazer for games to play while waiting but any game will work.

Hey guys. I need help increasing performance on a laptop so I can better play the RAD modpack for Minecraft. I've seen that there are differant algorithms in the BetterFPSOptions menu, but I don't know what each one is good for. I've already tried turning down all my other setters and increasing my maxfps with the default slider scale. I want to keep my render distance to 12 chunks, as RAD is a modpack that encourages exploration with some nasty tricks that can have you traveling miles to obtain your corpse. If anyone could give me some pointers on how to use the BetterFPSOptions Menu, and how else I can increase performance and reduce lag, I would greatly appreciate it.]

You can't get performance out of something that already can't run something decently.
You won't turn down the render distance at all. Loading 144 vs 100 chunks is a massive change in performance and is only 2 less render distance.

It's incredibly annoying when people complain about performance but then have 400 mods and aren't willing to do anything other than add more mods that "fix performance".

Before you try to fix anything, make sure that minecraft is closed!
If minecraft is open then you will need to close it and try to launch again.

4. Right click the folder named Install.
5. Select Open in new window.
6. Double click the minecraft.exe.
7. Close the Launcher once it's done loading.

I dont think RAD even has 300 mods, let alone 400. I'll try turn the render distance down a bit, but you have to understand that in adventure based modpacks, getting ambushed can be crueler than usual when mobs are commonly multiple times harder than they are in vanilla. You opened with "dont play on a loptop". If that was an option, dont you think I would have tried that? Your next piece of advice was to play a different modpack, THEN you recommended turning down render distance. It happens when it happens, it's been slow for a while now. OW is working on fixing lots of backend things and sync is one of them that needs work.

You shouldn't really be pushing updates daily for a server as that's going to be annoying for anyone playing. Plan ahead and do changes once or twice a week at the most unless something is really broken.

I've played many modpacks. RAD isn't even all that hard.

If you have fixed performance before you should know that mod counts don't mean anything, yet people insist on "my laptop can handle 500 mods fine in this pack but can't handle this pack of 200!"

I don't know what your options are, some people want to use there laptop play heavy packs while they have a regular computer available too. If a pack doesn't work at the settings you want to play with then OFC use another pack is going to be the best option. You keep saying you didn't want to change render distance, why would I say to change it if you refuse to anyway from the start.

so basially i play a few mc 1.12.2 modpacks, and i decided to try out some newer modpacks, as well as mods. so i downloaded ATM6, tried to play it, and it started to load, but memory usage didn't go over 2k mb, then i decided to try out making my own, private modpack, so i did, and tried to laounch it, and it didn't had a lot of mods, but it crashed, again, didn't get to 2k memory usage. then i tried some little older modpacks, those on 1.15.2, same problem, 1.14.4, also crashed, and i didn't checked 1.13, but it would probably crash too, anyone knows the solution? i can send some logs if needed

i have a problem and i need some help. so i installed some mods on fabric and one of them is the origins mod.(keep that i mind) i put the mods in and i turn on the mc launcher. everything was fine but the next time i tried to turn it on it crashed and it say and i quoute: The game crashed whilst initializing game

2. Fill out the information with a proper description of the pack. This should allow anyone to understand what the pack is.
